Why should JC's MPs do as he says when he so often voted against his own party? Don't do as I do, do as I tell you comes to mind.
Good Morning Sunday 12th July 2026
Is there anyone out there who can really still support this government? It bought the DUP to keep it in power, it has been defeated in the House of Commons in spite of that and its policy of Universal credit has just been thrown out of court because of the way it treats people. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/jan/11/four-single-mothers-win-high-court-benefits-battle-against-dwp-universal-credit?CMP=fb_gu&fbclid=IwAR1gx3cqrJ5ailab45F4KiBlYqm1SWMSu6gABIRw_2vGheNkA8y1gqGQ6-Y
Surely they have to GO NOW!!!
Why should JC's MPs do as he says when he so often voted against his own party? Don't do as I do, do as I tell you comes to mind.
Only a very few people actually advocate crashing out of the EU,but to remove your only means of leverage would make any further negotiations completely pointless. The EU would offer the worse deal, take it or leave it! Or stay! I think most people know perfectly well that negotiations in any walk of life are pointless when conducted from a point of weakness which this would be.
Could be that Corbyn actually hopes that we will crash out of the EU, chaos ensues , General Election, Corbyn rides to power, hello Marxist government!! Dangerous times indeed!
Maizie I was talking about JC not TM. In answer to your question, I don't know and I'm not sure she does,
Hypocrisy, hypocrisy, hypocrisy!
Corbyn has said Theresa May ' must' stop with her red lines.
Yet Corbyn ' demands' his red line is met before even going to a meeting---
Corbyn has been calling for Theresa May to ' Reach Out' to other parties if you listen to his speeches and interviews.
Yet Corbyn refuses to talk with Theresa May and reportedly has told his MP's not to either. - - - - -
Corbyn takes the opportunity when questioned over his ''Our friends Hamas' comment to turn the table on the interviewer by getting a tad defensive and usually saying something like ' It' s good to talk isn't it? '.
Yet Corbyn again doesn' t practice what he preaches.
Corbyn is only interested in getting a General Election!
Same as some said to the miners
I agree entirely agree with Corbyn in refusing any meeting with May until a "no deal" exit is taken out of any consideration of how Britain leaves Europe.
I would ask those that support Britain "crashing out of Europe" what do you say to the hundreds of thousands in the vehicle production industry and their suppliers where their employers have stated that all new models coming on line will be produced in EU countries.
But Corbyn has always stressed talking is the only way , he has said this for years .
Hilary Benn and Yvette Cooper have just come out of a meeting and said they hadn’t read the letter.
Chuka has said this above party politics
So is talking the way or only sometimes the way
He's not going into any talks until 'no deal' is off the table. In fact, that's what all the other party leaders told May after a pointless 'private' talk with her. He just cut out the waste of time meeting to tell her something he'd already told her in front of the entire House.
Anniebach, Hillery Benn was on Sky News this morning and stated that as he and others in the Labour party are the chairpersons of various parliamentary committees, they will be attending meetings with senior government ministers in regard to Brexit. That he advised was with the agreement of the executive of the Labour party and movement and all other chairpersons.
I would also remind you Anniebach that it was not Jeremy Corbyn or the Labour party that got Britain into the political mess it finds itself in now, that accolade lays very firmly with the Tory party and no other body.
Nonnie
What on earth is May doing, if not exactly the same thing?
Maizie he has made it quite clear it is his way or no way. The country is in such a parlous state it is completely wrong to go into talks with a closed mind let alone sending such a message to the EU.
Is he being a 'bloody difficult man?'
Besides which, May had already said what she wouldn't talk about. So really all her 'talking with other parties' is about is trying to get them to accept her deal. Pointless
Corbyn is saying it before any meeting, and his mantra has always been ‘ talking
But I understand that he said, at the despatch box, in front of parliament, that he wouldn't talk unless 'no deal' was off the table. What would be the point in saying it all over again in a'private' meeting?
The car industry has been foremost in driving up the living standards of millions of people for the last sixty years worldwide. In that, the production, sales, servicing and all the ancillary Industries that surround the foregoing support untold numbers in well-paid employment.
That industry is now undergoing a fundamental change in the move to electrically powered vehicles and driverless cars. Therefore, Britain should be doing everything possible to encourage manufacturers and their suppliers to maintain their production operations in Britain,
However, instead of the above, we look towards leaving the largest and most successful trading block in the world without even having a customs agreement with that body, which is right on our doorstep.
How stupid must that look to all those in the vehicle manufacturing industry and all the supplier's that support that industry?
Well, Hillary Benn should know what he is talking about - isn't he Chair of the Exiting the European Union Committee?
They are all more capable than JC.
Oops, Hilary Benn, Yvette Cooper and Chuka Umunna hadn’t read the letter, they are for the naughty step !

That is exactly what DH said, lemongrove.
Nonnie I agree
JC is behaving very childishly; he does not have the intelligence or the maturity to see that and it is time he went
And having cross-party talks is exactly what I have been saying all along; however, we need someone with more intelligence and gravitas to join the talks eg Keir Starmer.
Goodness only knows as it is blindingly obvious!!
Jabber if it is so obvious to a few on here why isn't it obvious to everyone?
Wow Annie, a dictator indeed!!
Precisely Nonnie, take the threat of no deal off the table and we might as well stay and have done with it as there will be nothing left to bargin with except deal(s) that we can't possibly agree to!
Corbyn has written to the Labour MP’s, no Labour MP is to take part in meetings with the PM
lemon your post at 14.45. I don't always agree with you but that post is spot on. If TM agrees to JC's demand then the EU will know we either have to accept the current deal or remain. I don't believe they will concede anything to change the deal but I wouldn't want to close any doors. If we accept the deal they have us over a barrel in the trade negotiations because of the backstop, we would have to accept that or agree to whatever terms they ask for.
I think that newer cars give off fewer emissions though Jabberwok; perhaps we should all be encouraged to change to the hybrid ones if and when we decide to buy/lease a newer car.
