I don’t have a crystal ball but do the likes of Rees-Mogg or Boris think they can get a better deal? Or will they be happy to just crash out with no deal?

I don’t like Theresa May as PM. She’s a ditherer and can’t read the political landscape (hence that disastrous GE) and she was on a hiding to nothing from the start. Neither could she see that she had accepted a poison chalice.

What a total shambles this Tory party is. With Britain in the middle of the greatest crisis it has faced since the Second World War, all these people can do is to plunge this country into an even deeper mess by taking up to a month to find another leader, should the vote tonight succeed.

I rarely get involved in discussing politics but admire TM’s stamina and strength when so many are baying for her blood. It appears like a Shakespearean tragedy to me where the knives are out. Politics IMO is a dirty business.

They got us into the mess they can work out how to get out of it. Meanwhile I am too busy with Christmas activities to be thinking/worrying over something I have no control over.

I think TM’s been a good leader and would be good long term. The Boys Club will get her out though.

I agree with Bridgeit, no politician will get a better deal. The posturing about no confidence has a few reasons 1) the PM is a woman and so all the male politicians have to slate her 2) anyone who is on benefits will slate her because the government is clamping down 3) because she is PM during a recession everyone will slate her because their isn’t much money in the pot 4) all the Euro MPs are on the gravy train over there, caviar for lunch, huge expense payments, of course they want us to stay in Europe 5) not everyone voted for Brexit (although the majority did) and 6) the Irish don’t want to sort out their own issues, they’d rather avoid them by having the UK stay in the EU.

I must apologise, though, for getting procedures muddled. It looks as though she'll be facing a leadership challenge, not a confidence vote. So Labour not involved

I'm prepared to bet that she won't be gone because with the prospect of the mad 'no dealers' jostling for position as the next tory leaders the sensible tory MPs will support her and, if JC has any sense he'll let Labour support her and keep her in her humiliating lame duck premiership to struggle on; possibly offering support with the proviso that she allows a People's Vote. Because I can't see a no confidence vote leading to the General election he really wants and surely no responsible politician would want any of the Brexit nutters as PM?

I am in favour of a second referendum, I believe it was in an emotive vote,rather than factual. A vote should be taken on facts & reality.

She need sto go to the country ,surely even the hardest brexiteers can see that 37% of the electorate isn't enough to leave the EU? Now theres a clearer idea of the outcome she needs to ask the question agian..or rather she needs to ask a no deal brexit or remain .because thats what its come to .She wont be around to step down she'll be given the push within the week .
