Hot water bottles

I have three hot water bottles which i have just got out ready for winter. One is dated 2006 other two 2012.
They don't leak or anything does anyone else have any that old

I just use tap hot water which is not boiling. You would probably get a scald but not as bad as if it was boiling kettle water. I wouldn’t trust any hot water bottle with that.

I’ve never had a disaster with a hot water bottle, although we used them every winter during my childhood. However, I remember having horrible chilblains caused by hot water bottles. After using a microwaveable gel pad and a hot water bottle, both with thick covers, for the last couple of years, I again developed chilblains. I’m not going to suffer with these again so I’ve bought an electric underblanket which has ‘zones’ so I can adjust the heat to the bottom area of the bed.
