Coverless duvets

Does anyone have a coverless duvet? My sister-in-law wants one as she thinks they will be easier to launder and easier than a conventional duvet having to actually change a cover.

after reading above, bought and have just washed the 10 tog double duvet. I had a job getting it into the machine and as it is a washer/drier, dried it after the wash (30 degree - quick wash).

It now looks like a rag, More creases than the back of my hand. Help. What do I do to make it look nice again
