Cleaning windows with Viakal.

I didn't try but It can be a good ideas. I try curtains to hide it. You can also try curtain that I buy from "pacific star product" with free shipping.

I just use plain water and a micro fibre cloth. I get beautiful results on the insides of my windows and mirrors. The Window Cleaners do the outsides.

Another language for me Viakal and Karcher never heard of either water dash of soap suds or better still vinegar and newspaper best way to clean windows
Cheap as chips no chemicals bit of graft only

I've used window cleaning products over the years and have never been happy with the result.
I now use a small amount of washing up liquid into water a soft scrub pad,
clean window, rinse with a sponge pad, buff up with an old tea towel.
Works every time.
Don't know why I even bothered with all the fancy products for so many years complete waste of money.

Have just been looking up this product as it seems ideal for my shower screen. (I used to use the Lakeland one which they no longer do and the new one isn’t as good).
However, it gives warnings about using on aluminium and I am not sure if the edges of my folding screen are aluminium. Has anyone used this with metal edged screens and was it okay? Thanks.

I use washing up liquid and vinegar in a bucket of water to clean the dirt off and then I rinse/wash off the soapy water with water and a splash of rubbing alcohol. Fantastic. The vinegar gets rid of water marks and the soap gets rid of the dirt.

Never heard of this product at all! Probably because they don't have it in Lidl. ?

I’m glad I’m not the only one struggling/slightly disappointed with the Karcher for windows. I get a lot of streaks; I’ve just had to do a window the OH sprayed fly spray all over - I’ve told him times it isn’t necessary to get a direct hit!

I’ll try making the windows wetter next time, as it’s when the vacuum bit seems to stick on the window I get the marks.

I'm pretty sure it's the same, Nonna. I think they were called e-cloths when they first came out.

I wouldn't be without the Karcher but sometimes I get a bit of a smear along the bottom of the window. It disappears if you rub it off straight away with an e-cloth.

Our shower room window is too small to bother with the Karcher so I just use two e-cloths, one wet - with a spray of Viakal on it, and the other one dry to wipe it all off. I think the trick is to work quickly because the drier the window, the more you are likely to get smears.

I wonder if it works on wet shower screens - I use it periodically on the taps and shower pipes and it does leave them looking nice. I'll try it on the glass itself tomorrow - I use the Karcher to dry it so it's always in there. I never use it to clean the windows though

Yes Nonna I believe it’s the same - just a brand name. I too heard great things about Karcher so I must be doing something wrong.

Excuse my ignorance but is an e-cloth the same as a microfibre cloth, or is an e-cloth better? I’ve often thought about getting a Karcher window cleaner but wasn’t sure how good they are.

I don't put it on neat, Waterloosunset - just spray some on the already wet Karcher pad.

I always get a better result when using the Karcher if the windows are quite wet when you rub the pad over them. Then the vac thingy has plenty to work on.

I must be doing something wrong Merlot. I tried Viakal and the e cloth but I can still see smudges. Maybe I sprayed too much product, maybe I press too hard or too soft with the Karcher. Bah was so looking forward to sparkly glass ?

I use it on my shower screen every couple of weeks it leaves it sparkling, I’ll try it on my windows too thanks for the tip.

Viakal has to be the best product in my cupboard,it cleans tiles/showers/shower bases etc.
Also brillient for taps and around the seals on baths.
I have never tried it on windows but am going to use it to morrow for sure.

Ah! Now I know why my house is so dark

Never thought of trying it, I use it on the shower tiles and the sinks but on glass never occurred to me. Will give it a go.

DD put me on to Viakal a while back. We use it on and around the shower. It works great Auntiflo

When I use the Karcher I keep a dry eCloth handy to quickly wipe out any streaks. They're the wonder of the modern age IMO.

Wow thank you Merlot! I will give it a try tomorrow (if it’s not raining). Was disappointed with the Karcher I bought last month - it seemed to leave lots of steaks. But maybe I am not doing in properly. Thank you.
