Carpet Cleaning

I've just had a quote to have my living room and hall/stairs carpet cleaned professionally. Just wondered if anyone had had this done. My main concern is that it might leave a smell afterwards; the carpets are pretty grubby [dog and kids and me not taking my shoes off] but, as far as I know they don't smell. Someone I knew had their car upholstery cleaned and it always had a weird smell afterwards. The guy did say he used a deodorant in the cleaner but that worried me even more.

If you are a real poster who has had good service from a company, that is fine. If you are a salesman or advertiser butting in to a thread to push your firm or product, you will get deleted and given the bum's rush gently told to push off.

That also applies to those anonymous posters who pop up with weird usernames to gush about a product and then vanish until they come back under a different name to gush again. GNHQ have ways to check their credentials.

hate carpet they are germy things what ever you do especially when you have kids and pets, a pretty hard floor is much nicer, and are not cold like the old lino

Go for it. Carpet cleaners come along, wash your carpets, remove filthy dirty grime (it doesn't matter how clean we are) grin the results are usually brilliant.
