Sweetpeasue Sat 20-Jun-26 22:48:05

Thanks HVDY Ive been googling his pain tonight as hes been particularly bad and been clutching his left chest most of the night. The angina spray doesnt help .

Sweetpeasue Sat 20-Jun-26 22:45:18

Doodle That moment, when you saw that man looking so like your DH must have been such a shock. With your friend, thinking the same- well he must have really been quite a lot simular. I hope youve been OK tonight after that shock.
Hugs and hope you're OK.

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 20-Jun-26 22:44:17

Wyllow3 That was a nice long sleep you had there. I was tired today but managed to stay awake.

Doodle Glad you had a fan to cool you a little bit. What was on at the theatre? Oh, that's horrible when you see someone who looks like your loved one. It's been pleasantly warm here today, not blazing hot.

Had a nice time with all the family - seeing them all again tomorrow, at Bakewell (Derbyshire), the Thorbridge Estate, for the day. DH and I will be taking our chairs and big parasol. Hope ALL BDers have a good sleep tonight x

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 20-Jun-26 22:37:20

ScaredyCat Hope the family get-together went well. Ours did. I don't know why I thought it was going to be a BBQ - it was takeaway. 6 had pizzas, 5 had Chinese (I had pizza), and a chocolate cake to follow. The children and dog all played together. LG was her adorable self. How many were at your party?

SweetpeaSue Sorry your husband hasn't been very good today. We're almost in July, so hopefully he'll know more about what the pain is. Nightmares are horrible. Hope you have some pleasant dreams tonight.

Wyllow3 Sat 20-Jun-26 21:43:13

It is exhausting when it's so hot, Doodle Can just imagine the bus journey.

What was on at the theatre?

that was a shock, like a deja vu (hugs) x

Doodle Sat 20-Jun-26 19:59:07

HVDY hope the BBQ went well. Nice to have a family get together. That poor woman. Sounds such a difficult thing to cope with. So nice of you to go in for a chat. Yes I did take my fan and I needed it. Such a hot day,
Scaredycat hope the party goes well. It should be cooler now. Been such a hot day. I do hope you enjoy it. My hair is not dead straight but not curly either sort of wavy .
I was in a cafe today coming back from the toilet when I saw the back of a man sitting at one of the tables. He looked so much like my DH it gave me such a shock. I wished so much it really was him. My friend turned to look at where I was looking and she thought the same too.
Sweetpeasue bad dreams affect me too when they linger during the day. Managed the theatre with a fan but the bus journey was boiling. I’m totally exhausted
Sorry your Dh has had such pain. Do you have any idea hats causing it.
Ellie Anne have you been in the garden? Hope your weather is improving it’s so hot here.

Doodle Sat 20-Jun-26 19:47:55

Wyllow I’m working backwards through the posts and have just come across the wonderful news that Mr A has been banned. What a relief. Such a vindication of all your efforts. So pleased for you

Doodle Sat 20-Jun-26 19:46:05

I’ve been to the theatre today. Enjoyed it but had to walk really fast uphill to catch the bus. Feel totally drained and exhausted now but a good day.
Wyllow a good sleep and rest will do you good. So much stress for you recently

Wyllow3 Sat 20-Jun-26 19:17:14

Well I slept for 2 hours plus and pottering. I must had had 5 brandies, HVDY, which is far too many, as it didn’t knock me out at all just eased my reactive feelings after such a difficult time.

That is some cemetery! Yes, the supermarkets are fine for your standard plants and sometimes some nice surprises too.
Enjoy son.

Scaredycat I hope that when it is cooler as it is now at 7pm you find you can enjoy the family “do” - the heat saps ones energy and the more so for you as you are quite vulnerable. I just cant imagine the ages of your huge flock.
Yes - where does the time go - where has it gone? I’m glad to hear that he cats in your garden have not been excavated as yet.
Well you cant drink wine so you just go full on for the very best cake and choc, and what did you have at the do.

So you have a special Fluffball voice too, Sweetpeasue. I think many dog owners do but often a well kept secret.

3 miles is too far becuase you want to use the energy ON the beach, dont you? It doesnt sound a very touristy area like further south?
My goodness, what a dream! Huge heavy duty caring in it! I’m not surprised you woke low.
Sensible to potter and tidy, I hope you got some nice M n S treats.

I had a long sleep.Just allowing myself, after all the stress last week, to flump around in my long nightie/more like a long day dress as well. I did do a wash...still watching Montalbano, I will hate it when I get through the 10 DVD's. I'll make myself stick to one unit by having white wine, I have a box.

Sweetpeasue Sat 20-Jun-26 17:33:54

Wyllow Im so glad for you that you wont need to face Mr A any more in your meetings. Im sure the result must be down to you working so hard - all that writing and making sure everyone had the facts. Its been uphill going for a long time , and I know the incident will be always there for you but this is great news.
I remember you saying your 'serious consultant' sis put a silly voice on for the dog- Im afraid I do it too!
Oh its been really hot hasn't it- not weather for cycling in.
HVDY Oh no , the fox dug up pet rat. Sounds horrible. Hope he doesnt find any more! Poor lady with the throat cancer - she must like your visits and chats. What an awful lot shes had to deal with.
DH's CT not until July but nearly there now arent we.
EllieAnne I see you arent quite as far up north . I hope Sunday will be good for you. Will you be going to church?Hope you see a friend there.
We are constantly pulling up weeds ,it must be the wet weather.
Scaredycat Oh dear , hope you can find a cool spot tonight - air conditioning would be nice. Enjoy yourself though - must be so nice to have a wide family who see each other so much.
We do have a beach withing walking distance( for some- about 3mls then 3 back) . We drive to one 7mls away as it has long paved area right next to the sandy beach.
Doodle Your wrist must look really painful even if it isnt! Ooh its sweltering where you are. You'll be like a boiled lobster in the theatre- hope at least the theatre production is interesting .

Woke feeling very low today . Had nightmare about dragging a victim of a bad knife assault over the ground to a hospital a couple of miles away!
DH has been so bad with his pain today so we've really just been doing bits of tidying indoors , after we picked up a few things in M&S .

Take care all and wishing you a peaceful night. Xx

Scaredycat Sat 20-Jun-26 16:22:01

Hi all
EllieAnne- Do hope, you see the sun soon. We could do with a bit of your rain it’s so hot,and tiring.
Yes our town like yours ha changed so much. It was a nice county town but now it’s full of awful barbers, nail bars , shops full of dross etc.
SweetPeaSue- oh your DH is still suffering with constant discomfort. Must be nice for him to have Fluffball for
distraction.
I like Doodle live down South and it really is uncomfortable at the moment. I,m dreading going to the party and having to dress up and be with lots of people.
Your pics of Fluffball are so sweet- you really do have the best of both worlds with her. Is your Beach within walking distance?
Doodle- It would be nice to be a young thing sometimes!! Although when I look at our large family - of which I am the oldest I do feel proud and they bring much joy.
Your hair sounds lovely- is it straight or curly?
Like you we enjoy playing i pad games. I tell myself it’s to keep my mind active but really I just love them.
HVDY- Hope you all enjoy your family BBQ. It’s perfect weather for one isn’t it.
Our GDs are 40,38,33,31,25 and 23. It only seems a minute since the eldest was born. Happy Birthday to your GD too.
Poor lady who you visit. What a difficult life she lives so uncomfortable and restricting.
Oh crumbs !! We have 4 cats buried in ours - so far they rest undisturbed but there is a fox - but so far so good.
Wyllow- well that’s a result re Mr A. It should help you not having that continually chipping away at you.You can go to your meetings in peace and the other events some one else can sort out. Not worth dwelling on .
Glad the dress was a success and the meeting with nice Ex.
It’s good you are aware of the danger of alcohol excess but you must enjoy life though. What is the saying - “Everything in moderation” except of course cake, chocolate and other goodies😀
Well I,ve washed my hair ready for the party . We have to be ready for 6!! It’s so warm I can feel it getting damp aoround my forehead already😩
Love to all and as always thinking of all BDs past and present.

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 20-Jun-26 15:42:37

Wyllow We've got quite a pet cemetery. Three rats, 6 gerbils, three cats, and a rabbit. Yes, my friend and I don't buy anything from that particular garden centre as everything there is so dear - I got my bedding plants from Morrisons. What did you drink last night? An occasional evening of feeling cheerfully drunk is fine. I can see that it would affect your meds to do it too often.

It's warm here, so the washing dried quickly. I've done some cleaning, and DH went shopping. Seeing the family at Son1's later, so that'll be good. Hope everyone's ok x

Wyllow3 Sat 20-Jun-26 15:12:42

I mean I got up at 10am. I had better stop attempting to use my brain.

Wyllow3 Sat 20-Jun-26 15:12:02

Not a lot has happened today I got up at 10pm as I was slightly drunk last night and dancing around at 1am to classic FM.

I've written to the nice local safeguarded hoping for a "musing quakerly chat" nothing heavy as I had been told it could be possible, and did some washing: I do feel lighter today but have to watch the alcohol (crosses with meds and creates a new dependency)

But washing out and no gym or bike as I'd planned just hanging out as its hot. How are people coping with this heat, I cant imagine in a theatre without a fan.

Wyllow3 Fri 19-Jun-26 23:05:49

I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow, Scaredycat. Please report back. Was there birthday cake...

I loved those photos, Sweetpeasue. Fluffball looks a bit like my sisters cuddly dog. So cute. I'm glad to see you were at the seaside.

*EllieAnne and Doodle. I count myself very lucky when I read about your towns. Living in a city, but non the edge of it near lovely countryside, I do have the best of both worlds. it is a very alive and vibrant city with lots of different "local" centres that thrive. I do have to drive to my Costa (unless I get active on my bike again and cope with the Hill) and there are some areas which are sort of losing their heart a bit, but really, very few. The actual City Centre isn't what it was but that doesn't matter becuase there are thriving local centres.

The burnt orange dress had a very successful outing indeed and it was good to talk with Ex1.

Will join you in a mass paper shred, EllieAnnebut I have been mega avoiding it as I have a tiny shredder and a big black bag of paper. I do hope Sunday brings sun.

Wyllow3 Fri 19-Jun-26 22:33:55

Oh dear....werent there quite a few burials there?

Well, MrA is not in my meeting, but has yet to be worked out as regards other local meetings and especially big joint events, of which there are a few I would like to go to when I get some energy back. I don't deserve to be confined only to my meeting like a prisoner, thats where we were back in the autumn, isn't it? But as I say, to be worked out.
However, it is effectively - I hope something that will shake him up a bit.
The original event still comes back, and its maybe only time that can heal that.

Regarding you and friend at the garden centre...perhaps its just as well you talk non stop (sounds like me with friend P)...because the plant and other temptations at a garden centre are very strong, and tough on the debit card! 😳

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 19-Jun-26 21:51:40

ScaredyCat My friend and I never look at plants or anything in the garden centre! We spend all our time talking, non-stop grin. Fancy you having a 40-year-old GD - you don't seem old enough. Hope you have a lovely time. Our GD1 will be 15 tomorrow. Some of her friends and all our family are going there for a BBQ. It's been so humid today, not pleasant.

EllieAnne You're keeping busy and getting your house sorted out (I need to clear some cupboards out). Hope the weather improves for you soon. It's been 26 and muggy here.

SweetpeaSue My friend and I had coffee and cake. Sorry your husband is having all that pain. When does he have the CT? Fluffball is adorable. It must be great to live near a beach.

Doodle The man's wife doesn't see anyone. She can't eat food, as she had extensive surgery on her throat and tongue (had it all rebuilt, etc.) for cancer, 11 years ago, and has lived on FortiSips and yoghurts ever since. She's (obviously) very thin, about 6 stone. Poor woman. I hope you've got a handheld fan of some kind to use at the theatre tomorrow. I like warm weather, but not this humidity.

Wyllow3 That's an excellent outcome. Now you'll be able to attend the Quaker meetings without the fear of seeing him.

DH discovered a big hole at the bottom of the garden - Foxy had dug up one of Son1's rats that was buried there. shock. It's gone in the rubbish to the tip. Hope everyone has a good rest tonight x

Wyllow3 Fri 19-Jun-26 20:43:55

So tired, a brief pop in, and I have read all.

Rotten rain! Unfair!

am rather spaced out on extra meds so will be brief and catch up properly tomorrow.

MrA has been banned from meetings. No time limit Is to be told today.

Oh my would I like to have been a fly on the wall. I'm only human.

Not a lot else got discussed as nice lady from HQ was not there, there were stand-ins who are not Safeguarding specialists and had not read my briefing.

But Quaker L (the sensible one who isn't particularly keen on MrA) did give me enough feedback after me agonising a bit on paucity of feedback for the time being.

It is uncertain who MrA's 'supporters" are but they do not seem significant and someone from Safeguarding is going to come and talk to our whoever meeting to explain why MrA isnt coming or it may be veiled language to not ID him but thats not my problem as enough will guess.

She hinted I may be able to talk informally a sort of debriefing with one of our local Safeguarders M who is kind tho not a leader but thats enough just to help me on my way.

I have also asked for some resources to have a break away, a few days/seaside just to be fed and watered and not to have to take care of myself for a few days. That will go via M.

No more MrA unless he.....? Well, that not my problem, is it?

Doodle Fri 19-Jun-26 20:05:27

Ellie Anne like you our town is full of empty shops and coffe places. No where to buy clothes or shoes.
Sweetpeasue wrist doesn’t hurt. It’s healing quite well in fact although a lovely shade of purple. You’re right I am far south and it’s so hot here I’ve got doors and windows open and two fans on. Been a very hot day. Tomorrow I’m going to a theatre that doesn’t have air conditioning, Phew!
I do envy your proximity to a beach and the sea.
Scaredycat I have thick hair, Always have. I have to have it layered as there’s so much of it otherwise. It takes ages to dry but just because it’s thick doesn’t mean it doesn’t get frizzy of fly away. It does that too.
Can’t imagine you with a 40 year old DGD. I still think of you as some young thing. You’re so youthful in your approach to life. Hope your have a wonderful time with the family.
HVDY it’s good to chat to different people. Nice of you to sit with that man’s wife when you take him home. I bet she looks forward to your visits if she doesn’t get out much. Your day centre sounds a fun place.
Ellie Anne I play lots of games on the iPad and enjoy them. Probably spend at least an hour at night playing games. It’s a good way to pass the time. Love your cross stitch, beautiful.
Wyllow I hope this is all sorted soon with Mr A. That’s an interesting bit of news you just found out. Glad you’re meeting up with your Ex have a lovely time at the gardens.

EllieAnne Fri 19-Jun-26 19:07:49

Sweet pea sue I’m not as far north as Argyle.
Actually in Ayrshire. The forecast says maybe better on Sunday. The weeds are enjoying the rain.
Wyllow I never find anything good in the charity shops now. We have a hospice one, a cancer research,Bernardo’s, Marie curie ans two local ones. Our town used to have good shops but now so many nail bars and empty shops.

Sweetpeasue Fri 19-Jun-26 18:43:05

Fluffball waiting for stick to ne thrown.

Sweetpeasue Fri 19-Jun-26 18:35:02

EllieAnne You don't sound much with the housework( son's too) gardening, walking, driving, choir and church. Youve so many talents and the crosstitch picture is lovely. Im sure the person receiving it will love it. Not sure your exact location but I looked it up and if its nr Argyll you might be in for a sunny weekend - I hope so.
HVDY We do take tiny dog treats out on walks to encourage obedience too. Dont give her them under the table when begging though. I think next time we'll take a chewstick to see if that helps.
Hope youve had a pleasant luch and a good natter with your friend.
Scaredycat We like a bit of supernatural too. DH has read a lot of Stephen King. I have to go careful though as I can easy have nightmares! Pets can be funny with food. Fluffball more often than not hasn't eaten her morning food when we pick her up so been told to bring some back here for lunch but I often do scrambled egg and she loves that. Son's labrador would eat anything! Yes, think if we can distract aunt with something else the goodbyes might be easier. Not always poss with a quiet lounge of mainly sleeping people!
Thanks for asking after DH. He has pain in shoulders, hips, neck arms - waiting for chest CT as constant pain in chest too. I just dont know what to do anymore. Tbh I dont think the chest pain is muscular as hes had it over a year. We'll just have to wait.
Oooh special day for your family tomorrow. Goodness a DGD of 40.
Wyllow Dont worry ,youve done everything you can with a well thought out letter to the Safeguarding people and with that addition of the email- well you cant do more really.
Great getting 2 nice blouses like that and - burnt orange? -dress. Ideal for this warm weather. Hope youve had a good catch up with your ex today.
Doodle It must be quite a nuisance not having the use of that wrist. Glad its not painful though. Hope its not been too hot where you are. I think you're right down in the south and its been so hot there. We're all a funny lot aren't we - too hot/cold/ wet/ windy - yet we're lucky really in this country. Think of you often. x

Bit of shopping this morning and Costa
then back to pick up F and take her for run on the beach.
Love to all.x

EllieAnne Fri 19-Jun-26 17:01:55

This constant rain is getting me down. Especially when down south is getting sun. It’s cold too.
Costa this morning. This afternoon I have cleared out a lot of paperwork. I just need to shred it now.
If this weather continues I will have the whole house sorted out.

Scaredycat Fri 19-Jun-26 14:59:57

Hi all
SweetPeaSue- that’s a good suggestion for a book. Nothing twee about that tale. I like Stephen King and Anne Rice too- we,ve always liked a bit of,the supernatural . I have read all the Game of thrones Books too which is my favourite series of all time.
It does sound
Ike your Aunt is settling in A bit better- we always find it’s easier to leave our friend if there’s something going on.
Great idea to take Fluffball a chew stick for her coffee break! Pets can be so annoying over food though. Our boys often just look at their food and walk off as if it was poison.
Hope DH is doing OK.
HVDY- only a minute or two blow drying for my hair as it’s so fine. Yes thick hair must be lovely . All our GDs and daughters have lovely hair - I got left out.
It is so warm here today my glasses keep steaming up. We,ve just given the boys a cold lickie each. They really don’t like the heat.
What a nice meal at the day centre- my cup of tea too. Especially sponge and custard.
Hope you,ve had a nice lunch and chat with your friend at the Gatden Centre. Did you manage to leave without a purchase?
Doodle- our pharmacy is about 20 mins walk away - a bit longer now though as I don’t walk as fast. We,ll have to go tomorrow as it was M and S today. I had some T-shirts
to,pick up - they weren’t there either- after we got home I got a text to say they were in now😩
Your poor wrist but the good thing is it’s not painful. It,ll be as good as new next week.
Cake and Church go together eh!!
EllieAnne- I don’t find it easy to sit and do nothing either. You do some nice things. Your cross stitch is beautiful.
I can’t get on with Sudoko- numbers are not my thing. I like word games and enjoy trying to beat the computer at Scrabble.
Glad you have company tomorrow- try and relax and have a good natter.
Wyllow- Ha Ha we got the coffee in anyway- good old Costas.
Yes we watched the Footie live - such a footie family. I fell asleep though as I,m a lightweight now.
Wow what a great clothes find. The shirts sound lovely. I have a reddy orangy tent with low pockets. Its like going out in your nightie.
Hope you are enjoying your time with nice Ex. It must be such a lovely place to meet up.
Nadateturbe- thinking of you.
PurplePixie- how did your trip go?

Well tomorrow is my GD1 40th Birthday so there is a big friends and family get together for her . Her DH has arranged everything and she just knows she has to Glam up for the Evening. How time flies.

Hope the weekend is kind to all.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 19-Jun-26 06:44:37

Thanks, Doodle The things we have, as women! I'd assumed my days of being examined down there were over. Glad it's all ok though. It's good that you haven't got any pain in your wrist. Can you use it alright?
