HVDY So funny about your Maggi bags. I must try them. I bet your tummy was rumbling. We had our usual salmon pasta and broccoli. And lovely chocolate cream roll from M&S.
Sweetpeasue quite bright here. Your walk sounds exciting. I love when the waves splash over the seawall on to the path. I deliberately walk close to be sprayed 😁. But obviously it was very cold and windy for you. I hope you're OK now, and your pains aren't bothering you too much. . It probably wasn't great weather for your OH to be walking. I hope his head pain has eased. And I do hope they find out the cause soon.

SweetpeaSue He found the Maggi thing - in a carrier bag (with some other things we bought from B&M last Fri), in the spare bedroom (where he left it), so we had the dinner ok, just a bit late at 7.30! Your weekend sounded special. Glad you saw your boys.

Scaredycat I'm pleased the small family celebration of your friend's life turned out well. How lovely to have tea out with your daughter. I do miss that sort of thing. Lads don't usually want to do stuff like that. I had a good weekend though with son1 coming down with his wife and my GD. Son2 joined us for a pub lunch. Yesterday son2 invited us for Mother's Day and cooked us wonderful dinner.
Nadateturbe Glad you got out for your art class and had a walk. It really is horrible weather isn't it. We had a walk along a path on the sea front and the tide was right up to the edge with waves crashing over the path. Really dramatic stuff. Not seen it like that before. Both sons remembered this Mother's Day though I've often had the scenario you describe with 1 of them. 🤭
EllieAnne I' m so sorry you feel so hurt about yesterday .I'm sure both your DD and son really do care and love you but sometimes forget to show it. I've had some miserable birthdays when I've been forgotten by one of them completely and it does make you very sad. I've actually felt as you have-that it's somehow my fault. I think that's something we need to stop doing or thinking. Families go through many different things and there are struggles that we think others don't have. I've noticed that some people like to think their families are perfect but I know all have different ways of how they choose to communicate with each other. No one way is the right way for everyone. I know you are a good mother as you do so much for your son and DIL and their children. Your DIL likes you (which isn't the case in all families). You travel far to see your daughter and she chose to call you yesterday. I hate for you to feel so alone. You are a good person and I just want you to believe it. I hope your car can soon be on the road then you can feel more independent again. X

Ate too many M's Day chocs over the weekend so braved the dreadful weather this afternoon and it was an extreme effort to go out. The sea was fierce and crashing in at full tide so walked along a tarmac path (which reminds me not to make excuses when we can't walk on the beach). DH had dizzy spell when out, blasted headache again, but it didn't last long. Shouldn't be there though.

nadateturbe My husband is meant to be doing the dinner, with chicken and veg in a "Maggi" cooking bag - he can't find the cooking bags, and has looked in every cupboard, all of the carrier bags (8) and the car. We'll have to have something else but he's still looking!

How's everyone doing so far? It's grey and cold here. Did aqua aerobics (35 of us there), then had brunch at the pub. So far, have managed to put off doing anything else.......... x

EllieAnne I think our children love us but are often just getting on with life and think we're doing the same. We have a lot more time on our hands.
I visited my mum often during the week. She was only 15 minutes away. I'm sure she was sick looking at me, but I do think times have changed and families aren't often as close, with extended families not being as common.
I wouldn't read too much into lack of contact. And you're a good mother, from what I've read in past posts.x

EllieAnne I'm sure your family love you, but sometimes they aren't demonstrative. A lot of sons are like that (mine have always been Mummy's boys, by their own admission).

Foxy arrived at 11.15 last night and managed to get some chicken drumsticks before the local cats scoffed it all. It's another wet day here (at least it's not snowing). Hope ALL BDers manage to have a decent day x

Thanks Scaredycat, I'm glad you had such a nice afternoon with your DD.. Those times are indeed precious. I think we all take too many photos now. I'm deleting some but I'm sure I'll use at least 3 memory sticks.

Son 2 came with chocs flowers and wine this morning. Daughter rang, sent me a Phillippa Gregory book. Card hasn't arrived. Son1 as usual forgot. No doubt he will be sending card today and telling me he posted it ages ago. But I know he loves me and is very caring.
Don't worry EllieAnne they are all different, I'm sure your children love you.

HVDY- I had a lovely tea thank you- we both felt stuffed afterwards. Spending time just the 2 of us is so precious and I know how lucky I am to have her so close. It,ll be lovely for you both to have tea by the river when the weather improves.

ScaredyCat I'm glad the celebration of your friend's life went well. These things are sometimes quite nice, remembering someone as they were, in better days. Did you enjoy your tea with your daughter? It's nice going out for tea. DH and I have got a voucher to use (when the weather's better) at a place by the river.

Thanks. My sister is so positive, just like yours. It amazes me too. I would love to be like that, I try.
It takes a bit of adjusting when your hair feels "worn out". And remembering lovely thick shiny healthy hair. But it probably looks worse to us than others. I'm finding the Plantur helpful.

SweetPeaSue- hope you,ve had a lovely day seeing your Son and family- it’s been quite a while. Today turned out fine- very simple day just a quiet family get together . Why do we worry about things so much- and then they are often not half as bad as anticipated.
I think your reaction to the outcome of the biopsy is just the way it is for us worryworts. Always thinking the Docs might have made a mistake or missed something. I think HVDY is right - see how you feel in a couple of weeks .
Nadateturbe- I,m so glad your Sister is doing well with her Cancer treatment - such a relief for you. I face timed with mine this morning and she never ceases to amaze me with her positivity. Today’s celebration passed well and was not upsetting as we thought it might be.
HVDY- your hair must be very resilient- I too have done so many things to mine when I was younger and now it’s thin and think it’s worn out!!
Lovely to see both Sons and families tomorrow- you are the most generous and kind Mum so have a lovely day.
I,m seeing my DD for afternoon tea - a real treat for us both.
EllieAnne - sorry your week hasn’t been the best. Must have been the last straw when your car broke down. However I,m sure your Husband will be cooperative - hope so anyway. Will you see your new friend ?

Oh *Doodle Have just seen your post. I'm so sorry to hear your DH's op may have to be cancelled though I'm sure it will be for the best for now. You must have been and are so worried about him. I wonder if he has been stressed with the op coming up and the move back into hospital. Whatever it is I'm glad he's OK now and stable. Thankyou for letting us know -it was good of you under the circumstances- and sending you a great cuddle and thinking and praying for you both. Take care of yourself. Much love. X

Sweetpeasue great news so pleased. Sorry don’t have time or energy to write more. DH collapsed yesterday and was really ill. He’s ok now but operation most likely to be cancelled for the time being until he recovers.

HVDY Re waking in night -strange isn't it when our minds go into overdrive. I wish I wasn't such a worrier. I'm still only on starting dose as I had some unwanted side effects that appear to have settled. If anyone deserves a lazy day you do HVDY. Not sure when mine will turn up but believe other son and fam joining us so it should be nice. Haven't seen them since New Year.
