Covid booster

My daughter and SIL both have it right now and they are very unwell indeed. I’m wary about having the jab simply because I was poorly after previous covid jabs. I have had Covid so know how awful it can be. It’s a dilemma and I need to just get it done. I’ve had pneumonia this year so come on go get it girl!

Sorry to hear you’ve had a stroke Jan16. I can see why you would be suspicious of the vaccine causing it.
I had both my vaccines this afternoon and so far feel fine. I feel the risk from covid is much greater than the risk from vaccine. Hope I’m not proven wrong.

I'm going for my flu vaccine tomorrow. I have my covid booster booked for November. Better safe than sorry.

Had my Covid booster yesterday and my flu jab Tuesday last week. Both gave me a sore arm . But it's a small price to pay. I would much rather had the jabs to help protect me and my loved ones. Started wearing my mask again yesterday and it will be on until the summer. Helps keep my face warm 😊.

Off to have covid this afternoon.

Flu jab on Sat.
All dads care home were boosted against Covid & Flu yesterday. My dad said he felt fine no side effects either.
I would advise having the Vaccinations if you can- we all need protecting from these illnesses

look into the pneumonia jab as I dot. Want that again. The longer term damage to my lungs is noticeable.

I have never been offered a pneumonia jab and I’m 67. I’ve booked the Covid jab for tomorrow as I’m going to juicy oasis in Portugal (for health reasons, I love it there) in a few weeks and don’t want to get Covid and not be able to go. Job nearly done. Will
look into the pneumonia jab as I dot. Want that again. The longer term damage to my lungs is noticeable.

Anyone over the age of 65 can have it. We used to routinely ask people if the wanted it as we had to puta refusal on their medical record ( in case the caught it and complained that it hadn’t been offered to them). It’s a one off vaccine.

In my area you have to be 70 to get the pneumonia vaccine on NHS, my sister had hers at 45 different area. I asked my GP if I qualified (both sister and I have severe asthma, history of bronchitis and chest infections) and was told no.

I went to Boots and paid £80 for the pneumonia vaccine privately in January 2020 as the rumours about Covid were beginning.

I was invited to come for a pneumonia jab when I turned 65. I live in Scotland

Ah well, that's it done, flu in left arm and Covid in right. What was that song about 'Stuck in the Middle'?!

The Boots one doesn’t cover you for everything. They only told us that after we’d had it done. We’ve since had a better one done at our GP’s. I was really annoyed when I found out! At the time we didn’t want to go to the doctors because the infection rate was so high.

I've agonised over this but finally decided against having the covid booster. I have had all the jabs offered up until now but hours after the last one I developed the worst backache I have ever had in my life. It came on overnight - completely alright when I went to bed, in agony when I woke up - and I was incapacitated for a few weeks.

I consulted a physio who said she could not say for sure that it was to do with the jab but several of her patients had complained of similar afflictions so she was suspicious.

I would not wish to put anyone off having their booster with this story. I think we each have to make the decision for ourselves.

Had mine last Friday one in each arm - funnily enough neither arm hurt.
I do usually feel a bit fluey the next day so always arrange a low key day the day after.

I had my flu jab last week and felt a bit poorly for 2days.

Had Covid booster yesterday and feel tired and cold today.

I had Covid in February and ended up in hospital with a gastro intestinal bleed,don’t want that again! and I have had all the Covid boosters I can get!

That's odd. The NHS guidelines state 65. Asthma sufferers who use a steroid inhaler or take steroid meds under 65 are eligible for a pneumonia jab.

The covid jabs didn’t stop millions of people from still getting covid. Please don’t use the excuse “but I might have got it worse if I hadn’t had the jab”. You don’t know that. 😉

We all had 3 jabs apart from one son. We all got covid summer 2022 and passed it on to him and he was no worse than the rest of us. All it was, was a dry throat and feeling more tired than usual.

We are not sure whether to have another Covid vaccination this year. Over the last few years have had 6 in all and also had Covid. Will be having the flu injection though.

We don't know as individuals whether the symptoms of Covid would have been worse, but we do know from analysis of millions of vaccinations that the risk of serious symptoms was mitigated.

As the person affected is an individual, it's up to him/her whether to take the risk. I can't say it bothers me one way or the other what decision people make, but I do find it strange that people get so het up about trying to influence others, especially when they use inaccurate information and scare tactics..

PS. I don't need to make an excuse to have a Covid jab. People need excuses when they do something wrong. Having a further Covid jab is absolutely not wrong for me.
