Covid booster

Yes I feel much the same way lizzieb no real justification for it. I'm not ruling it out definitely though.

Well I had my Covid booster and flu jab on Monday. I'm thankful for the opportunity to lessen the effects of either virus, should I contract them again. No side effects. I'm eighty +

I will probably have it. Covid is still around . I’ve had covid about 18 months ago after having the vax and had minimal symptoms. I’ve had far worse colds . I also care for my mum , so added incentive for not getting really ill.

not reluctant at all why would you not be keen to say protected?

Dead keen to have mine, as I am for vaccinations generally. It’s booked for next week, and my flu jab for later in October.

I am due to have both 'flu and Covid vaccinations. I'm immunocompromised and will take every precaution to lessen the effects.

Covid hasn't gone away and it's not as some people are saying, just a cold. For people like me it can be fatal.
I really don't agree with the comment, No justification for it.
In fact, I cannot understand why anyone would think that
My DD, DIL and SIL have already had both on the advice of clinicians, to try and keep me safe.
My son will have both next week.

It's a no brainer!

Having an operation in 3 weeks - having my covid jab tomorrow. Would have had it anyway, but hospital recommended that I have it done.

I should have said, I am grateful that the NHS is on the ball and looking after me and my family.

My husband had to have it (terminal Cancer) so I need it too .
God forbid that we have to isolate or shield again , but I wouldn't put him at further risk .

We are having ours on Saturday, I wasn’t overly keen but I am vulnerable so it would be stupid if me not to have it.

No justification for it? What gives you that idea when the latest is a real killer? I had my Covid jab last week and will be first in the queue no matter how often it is offered.

I will go early next month for my flu jab. I am so grateful it is all on their NHS.

I was reluctant, as I felt unwell after the first 2,but then I saw my daughter last week and that evening she, her husband and their 4 year old tested positive! The 2 adults have felt very poorly with it. So far I am ok but it is rife round here and I've been seriously considering going back to wearing a mask. My booster is booked for 2 weeks

I have had mine and was extremely grateful to have the opportunity.

Lizzyb, were you very ill after having previous Covid vaccinations ?

What is the point of not having something that will protect you ?

I had both mine together on sunday and was fine....which is really odd as I normally get side effects from the flu vac and have had side effects from covid vacs too. Maybe they were too busy arguing with each other and ignored me! The only thing i would say is that I had one in each arm and it was difficult sleeping as I didn't have a non sore arm to lie on. I afterwards found you can have then both in one arm but have to say so before they put the first one in as they have to put them in a slightly different place.

I’ll be happy to get my Covid and flu jabs at the same time in a couple of weeks. Having had both Covid and flu illnesses themselves, I’ve no wish to have them again!

Yes I will be having Flu and Covid vaccination early October.

LA friend has just recovered from Covid after 2 weeks of antibiotics and steroids.
She had blisters all over her face and also in her nose and mouth.
She still has red blotches where the blisters had been.

Last year I was blue lighted into hospital suffering a heart attack and Covid at the same time (make of that what you will).

I had my flu inj mid Sept at Boots as i was worried and ive gone down with flu 10days later! This is the third time in my life ive had flu unfortunately twice after having flu injection which isnt meant to happen! Ive spent two days in bed with temp over 38. Feeling bit better today as temp is down to 37.5. Now dh has it but he hasn't had flu inj yet so im really worried as he is immunocompromised due to cancer and chemo. His temp is 38.5. He is up to date with covid inj. Our surgery has been very slow starting flu and covid. Last year i had had both by this time on same day in different arms. We dont socialise nor go out for meals etc so at a loss to know how weve caught it. Neither of us have ever had covid.
