No but if I was on my own I would most probably allow it

One cat usually sleeps with me and the other one sleeps on the landing. No point trying to shut the bed sleeper out because he just digs up the carpet and howls. Anyway I like having him with me.

Yes he does most nights. He definitely hogs the duvet too! He is 22years old (140 in human years) my best friend and my beautiful pussycat has definitely got me through my nursing shifts this year. He is better than a snooze button as he will tap my nose gently when the alarm goes off ?

Yes, our staffy sleeps on our bed. Occasionally, if its a cold night in the bed right down where are feet are like a little hot water bottle

It's not a problem as I do shower in the morning!

When I had a dog he did sleep on the bed. I don’t think having a dog or cat in the bed ever affected my sleep though I think a turtle, fish, guinea pig would be a step too far.

Our dogs starts off in their baskets and then manage to find their way into our bed by the morning. They love to sleep in between us, one at the top of the bed and the other at the bottom.

I used to have cats but they normally never came in the bedroom, and I would never have an animal in my bed. I know too much about zoonosis and the thought of them shedding skin, hair, saliva and animal bacteria in my sheets is quite stomach-churning. Dogs lick and sniff where other dogs have been. Why would you want that in your bed? ?

My Frenchie sleeps as close to me as he can.

OOOHHHH Frenchie I have 4 Pugs and an English Bulldog, I did have 3 Pugs on the bed until I rescued a bonded Pug and EB now the whole lot are on the bed with me and DH, I was worried about the farting and snoring but then I thought if DH keeps doing that he can sleep in the spare room, seriously I would imagine Frenchie's are very much like Pugs have to be near to you all the time, might get a Frenchie think there is room on the bed for one more little soft furry body

Yes, my dog sleeps on the floor in my bedroom,he wakes me in the morning but not early.When I get out of bed he jumps up on it,sometimes he will stay on it for another couple of hours,before he graces me with his presence downstairs!

Yes my JRT sleeps in his own bed next to my pillow - not disgusting in the least. He’s very quiet at night and I love having him next to me.

Chestnut, I can see your point of view but I'm much more worried about dogs being allowed to lick faces. That really does turn my stomach.

I sleep much better with a dog on the bed. My only concern is that it's really not good for my allergies.

Maybe we shouldn't allow other humans in our beds, though? This is interesting:

Oh soda pop, when did you lose him, how old was he? My boy is almost 14 and is my world. I had my sweet 18 year old cat PTS last week, how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. I do hope it gets a bit easier for you.

Wouldn’t want to sleep with a dog but having a cat on the bottom of the bed is quite cosy and comforting. Not inside, though , in case they have fleas!

Only have tropical fish so not a problem! I don't think it is a good idea for your pets to sleep with you though.

Cat sleeps in my bed when it is cold. She does have a habit of sitting on my shoulder or head in the middle of the night which is annoying.

We have a cat and a big dog and they both sleep on the bed with us. They are part of the family, I wouldn't dream of shutting them out. I love having them close.

We have an indoor rabbit Snowball (aka S'no balls') who got turfed out of his outdoor hutch by his brother Hazelnut (aka Hazel'no nuts') in the first lockdown after having lived happily together for 3 years.
He sometimes jumps on our bed which is quite a feat as it's high and he's a dwarf rabbit but he never stays the night!

Just me and my two cats on my boat. One sleeps on the other pillow of my bunk and the other will crawl under the top patchwork quilt behind my legs.

My beautiful chubby, cuddly cat ? sleeps on the pillow next to me all night and his cute little snore is the most soothing sound in the world. I've never met a man I could say that about!

I don't have pets at the moment but in the past had a number of cats and a dog. They were never allowed in the bedroom except for one cat, Yoda, a half Burmese who felt like he should be able to go anywhere! if I shut him out he would just sit and cry CONTINUALLY at the bedroom door so he always had to come in with me. The dog never came into the bedroom unless there was a thunder storm then he would rush up the stairs and barge in and cower under my duvet! Despite this I realy miss having pets!

My little Maltese has his bed in my bedroom, and will occasionally. 'launch' himself onto my OH's side of the bed and curl up and sleep - he is quite light so it's not a problem really, (until he has a dream in his sleep and squeak dreams)
