I would see a doctor in case it is a tic bite.

Sounds like a tic bite. Get your doctor to have a look.

There were also some pictures but they were Lyme disease but I would definitely get it checked out. .

DamnitJanet, get it checked. Maybe try the pharmacist first, ours is excellent as a first port of call.

Best get it checked. GD got a tick bite last year on holiday, DS went to vets and bought a gadget for removing them from dogs and it did the job.

I rang 111 in the end, they said get it looked at if it's not gone in 3 days, it has faded a bit today and I can see thepuncture marks of a spider bite, time to hoover the corners :-D.

I've heard that tics that cause Lymes Disease leave that mark. Please get it looked at as soon as possible OP.

Definitely get someone to look at it. I went to th GP yesterday with something that turned out to be nothing but he said he was pleased I came.

janet I would ignore 111’s advice and if your GP can’t see you today, go to a walk-in urgent care centre.

I too would ignore that dodgy advice and get it seen. My late SiL developed Lyme Disease and it went undiagnosed for ages. It left her with a weakened heart which eventually killed her.

Yes good advice here, I know someone with Lymes Disease who had to go abroad to get it treated. It's something I am very aware of living near two Royal Parks inhabited by Deer. I read about Matt Dawson, it's a very nasty condition. Time is of the essence in getting it looked at.

Yes do get it checked out Dammitjanet We have a lot of ticks here and they do cause problems.. Drs are not very aware of the seriousness of Lymes disease it seems.

Please go straight to your GP. I had exactly this with the bulls eye and two puncture marks. I was put on a strong anti biotic as a precaution against Lyme disease or an infection.
Do not take the wait and see approach.

Lyme disease is a possibility as has been discussed. Urgent GP appointment methinks.

I havn't been in any grass or parks for months but i do have a constant supply of biting spiders in my home. The mark has pretty much disappeared now, just some very faint bruising left and it only appeared on Sunday so there's nothing left for anyone to see.

A constant supply of biting spiders??? My advice would be to move out!

@Esspee: I posted before I had taken advice from the NHS, and, with respect, you cannot see or feel the bite whereas I can.

You also are not aware of where I have walked, the likelihood of puncture wounds and a bite mark appearing months after I have been in any grass - I don't even have a garden - is nil.

I apologise for upsetting you by posting before I had given it rational thought as well as taken advice, I thought that was partly the reason for asking stuff on forums I can only suggest that you scroll past in future.

But, next time perhaps you could include salient facts, such as your house is overrun by biting spiders, whatever they are ?

Just to add, my concern was not that it was a tick bite (because I know it isn't) but that it was some kind of collasping/clotting/varicose vein until the puncture marks and the obvious bite showed up.

@Anja I didn't know it was a bite when I posted the first time.

Why do people have to be rude? I despair! Glad the lesion, whatever it was, has settled down.
