My eyebrows are falling out!!!

Yes it happened to me. I have a under-active thyroid and this has made the far edge of my eyebrows fall out. I just use brow make up now and all is well.

Yes, same here as NanKate and have just about lost all eyebrows.Hasn't grown back even with tablets to correct under active thyroid, but am seeing GP soon to discuss upping the dose.

Yep, me too! I woke up one morning last year and the complete outer edge of one of them had vanished. I asked my GP about a thyroid test but she didn't seem bothered. They're both very straggly now, having always had dark very defined eyebrows it makes me feel a bit invisible. Thought I was doing doing an ok job with the eyemakeup....until my 6 year old gd examined me and asked "why exactly have you drawn on your face with a pencil, granny?"

Best of luck Roses on getting your thyroxin increased. They made me go down to 100 mcg from 150 mcg a day and I was sleeping more than awake.

After 9 months of hibernation they put me back on 150 a day but recently a new doctor insisted I reduced to 125 a day. I am just about surviving on that.

Now back to eyebrows, or the lack of them.

Aside from Thyroid issues eyebrows do get thinner and lighter as we age but there is a wealth of products and treatment available at spas etc now. I like Benefit's Goofproof eye pencil thingy which has fibres and a nice soft retractable pencil for a more natural line.I saw a You Tube make up video where the woman demonstrating used about 6 different products on her eyebrows!

I had an overactive thyroid some years back, but the medication sent me the other way. I now have rather skimpy but scruffy brows. I am too lazy to keep plucking the straggly fine hairs, but use a grey/brown pencil to draw in the desired shape, which I am not very good at because I need to wear my reading glasses and use a magnifying mirror. I wish I was more artistic. I tried a stencil, but couldn't keep it flat against my skin.

Nan Am only on 50 mg! No wonder am tired.

Part of what I do for a living is pluck eyebrows. Lots go thin and sparse, some go wiry and wayward. That's life!?

Sorry didn't mean to be facetious, if it's happened all of a sudden and you are worried about it then you are right to see a doctor.

You can get permanent eyebrows tattooed on, they do look natural, check out the beauty therapist first.

Had mine done a few times, they are semi permanent. Also had eyeliner and lip liner done. The lip liner is still there after 10 years. Thank goodness I went for the natural look.

If the GP test are ok. I will try the makeup route at least until they have settled down. One is more noticeably bald than the other so would like to wait until they are about the same before considering anything more drastic.

Mine fell out years ago after I was prescribed Beconase for rhinitis! I was in my 40s at the time. They have not grown back!
My GP , when I mentioned it later, said you should have come back and asked for something different!!

There are lots of eyebrow kits available, no need to use the stencils, just follow the natural line very lightly, you can always add more. Go to a salon and see what they suggest.
'Beautiful brows' stays put until you remove it in the evening. It does give you time to correct mistakes before setting.

Hello I've lost my eyebrows too. I've just been diagnosed with scarring alopecia my hairs gone around my hairline I'm going to have my brows tattooed as its such a pain drawing them on everyday getting them looking right. Apparently I have some kind of auto immune issue going on. It really effects my confidence.
