Just that really.

It is rather a good one though, but it is only the 15th of October!

Much too early!

Very early, we’ll be sick of seeing it by Christmas. I know shops/businesses plug their Christmas stuff early as they are all in competition with each other but at least let’s get October out first.

Hang on a Mo! I thought they’d gone bust?

Grannybags Thu 15-Oct-26 11:08:59

I was about to say our local Debenhams closed years ago

Grandmabatty Thu 15-Oct-26 11:33:31

They still sell online

I bought a Monsoon jumper from them online last year at a very good price, lots of items, good delivery.

I used to love a good browse round Debenhams, I miss it.

Assuming I am remembering correctly, at one time, christmas started coming into shops around 1 Sept.

Debenhams is now simply a trade name owned by overseas conglomerates. Would not touch it .

I also thought Debenhams had gone out of business, no idea it traded online. Used to love their perfume counters, excellent to try dozens of fragrances if you were looking for a change. Nowhere like that now where I live.
Agree way too early for a Christmas advert though.

Not seen it and it's ridiculously early. I often look on the Debenhams app on line. It's a shame the shops have closed down as I enjoyed browsing through their stores.

Nanny27 Fri 16-Oct-26 16:49:11

It's the one high street shop i really miss.

I actually thing they have been quite slow really. Seem to have been bombarded by Christmas tat and advertising since mid August.

Like many other GN's.

I really miss Debenhams and their Collection and other ranges of clothes and other stuff that they sold.

Boo hoo!

😢😢😢

Debenhams was a great store - so sorry when it closed

My nearby larger town had a Debenhams, Laura Ashley, M&S, BHS, Hobbycraft, WHSmith and Panasonic. A fabric and haberdashers. A brilliant fruit and veg stall where the oŵner worked from a youngish boy to an oldish man.

All closed. Now many vape and phone shops. And tatty coffee shops. So very sad.

It doesn't matter how high the production values are on these glossy ads - they can't crack the hard fact that we have a prolonged cost-of-living crisis.

But I supppose that won't stop many going overboard with the credit cards - and then tearfully turning up at their local Citizens Advice with several redundant cards and a clutch of County Court Judgements, none of which can be paid.

Not that the likes of Debenhams care.......
