…who are not taking blood pressure tablets, statins, arthritis drugs, anti-depressants, or any other regular medication? Are there any who still choose to sit on the floor, turn cartwheels, will spend an entire evening dancing, don't wear false teeth or partials, and don't really have any aches and pains?

Well I take one BP tablet, but can do all the above and hold my foot in my hand and lift it past my ear, keeping both knees straight. grin

Bellasnana Wed 19-Feb-14 07:38:36

I don't take any pills, don't have any false teeth, aches or pains and can sit on the floor quite happily. Even in my younger days I didn't turn cartwheels or dance and am not about to start now grin

Mamie Wed 19-Feb-14 07:42:57

Actually no, I never could do cartwheels, but I can still do the splits. grin

just remember ladies!! if one chooses to do cartwheels! please do make sure you have not forgotten to put on "underwear" first grin

LizG Wed 19-Feb-14 08:13:16

Yes, me - minus the cartwheels and I am Cinderella when it comes to dancing grin

I'm fortunate enough not to have to take any medication at all. No aches or pains, I sit on the floor, dance when the mood strikes (often while I'm brushing my teeth, bizarrely), couldn't do a cartwheel if my life depended on it though.
I can however hula hoop using a 6lb hoop whilst line dancing grin

I used to love doing cartwheels - wouldn't dare now though (even with underwear on), too many aches and pains. But I don't take medication any more. wink

I'm one of the lucky ones too, but I never could do a good cartwheel even when I was younger. No medication, all my own body parts and all still in working order sunshine

What age does it all start to fall apart. Someone recently told me 75.....

No medication for me, but a few twinges in my hips since having a knee injury. I frequently walk about 5 miles and do mainstream exercise classes 3 times a week, which I love. I don't care about being the oldest and heaviest participant.
I am 'only' 67, so will no doubt have more aches and pains in the future. I send good wishes to all who are ill or in pain, it must wear you down. flowers

Go girls !! long may you all continue. Unfortunately I'm not one of you.

I often feel I'm so lucky not to be on any tablets. I loved cartwheeling as a child. The only thing that annoys me now, is, I don't have the strength I once had.

Thistledoo Wed 19-Feb-14 09:13:23

No meds at all except a vitamin c tablet. Walk everywhere distance permitting, but yes do where a partial as had front tooth knocked out a long time ago at a keep fit class. OOps sorry just remembered have eye drops for recently diagnosed glaucoma. Long may my good health continue, as I was visiting an old lady friend in hospital yesterday, glancing around the ward and seeing so much ill health I am so thankful for my fitness.

Aka Wed 19-Feb-14 09:20:13

I do take a couple of supplements Thistledoo but don't count these are medication, more anti-medication.

I have steroid injections for calcific tendonitis in one or both shoulders once a year if necessary. I can still do all of,the above but being honest, my cartwheel is more like a slow crab now. Do I pass?

Likewise, not having the same energy pee's me off

Nelliemoser Wed 19-Feb-14 09:25:52

I have three repeat prescription items. A few months ago it was a lot more due to a shoulder problem.

Two very knackered back joints. Achy thumb joints, thinning bones which was probably down to a problem with my parathyroid. Which hopefully was fixed last year. (I am having a blood test today to see if its still functioning ok.)
I do find bits of me keep causing trouble. I can still squat down and stand up again though, due to having had back problems for over 30yrs I developed good strong thigh muscles to get up and down without bending over.

Something I would love to do, just one last time is play a game of hockey. My passion all through Secondary School and for a couple of years after school I played for a 'Ladies' club!

ffinnochio Wed 19-Feb-14 09:30:13

None of the above, but have chosen to go commando (under flappy skirt) for a while due to a bit of a rash - so won't be doing cartwheels any time soon. smile

Marelli Wed 19-Feb-14 09:41:13

Don't take any prescribed medications, though do use St John's Wort. Used to be able to do cartwheels, do the high jump, long jump, run really quite fast.....but find that if I run now, I'm all out of sync! Have to add that the cartwheels etc took place about 40 years ago plus! I can, if given the chance, dance all night (I think)! To get off the ground from a sitting position is a sight to behold, though grin1

annodomini Wed 19-Feb-14 09:52:25

Used to play hockey at school, tennis, squash and badminton afterwards. Never could, never will, do cartwheels and my prescriptions are costing the NHS a small fortune. Absent - please answer your own questions.grin
