What positive family traits can you see in your grandchildren?

My husband is very neat and tidy (I'm not!) and my son was always a very particular child too. I've noticed my granddaughter is similar. She's only 6 but likes her bedroom looking just so. She's not obsessive mind, but she does takes pride in her things. I like to think she's got my sense of humour and loves a good joke and cackle - even if she doesn't always understand it. Do you notice any particular traits in your grandchildren that remind you of your own children - or yourself?

One of my brothers died when he was 18yrs, in a motorbike accident. He died on 19 July. He was blond, blue eyed, fun loving, kind and left-handed.

On 18 July a couple of years later at 11.45pm I had a son who is also blond, blue eyed, fun loving, kind and left-handed, and looks so much like my brother. Very difficult NOT to compare the two. I know I shouldn't but it is uncanny how much alike they are.

My DGD is a reader just like my Daughter/Mother/Grandmother/Great Grandmother and myself.We all love books. My DGD has the copies of Alice in wonderland, Heidi, Black beauty etc that we all read and although only 8 she has a reading age of 14

Loved all those Grannypiper. I remember going in to the library when I was little and getting an armful of books. The blue fairy book, the red fairy book, the green fairy book etc etc. I felt like I had a big box of chocolates in my arms. I love books. Much prefer a book to a tablet. I like the feel and the smell of books. My GD seems to be following me there too.

My grandfather was a music hall artist and my grandmother his scriptwriter, my son is a children's author, my oldest 6 year old grandson performs magic tricks, appears in the school productions and loves to be centre stage and writes poetry.

My youngest Grandson 4 follows his great grandfather who was an engineer. He asks how everything works and then proceeds to dismantle and remake things.

Genetics are fascinating.
