Daughter doesn’t refer to us as Grandma or Grandpa

Daughter does not say to our granddaughter (18 months), “oh look G&G are here” or “do you want to give that toy to Grandma?” If we don’t talk about ourselves in the third person, our GD wouldn’t have a hot clue who we were. She also does not take photos of us with our GD. She posts a million photos of her or her husband or friends with GD, but zero with relatives. FYI, most of the photos are her only with GD or GD alone. We also follow all her rules and ask before we do anything.

If that's all you have to moan about, well lucky you.
You have no idea what other aspects of the OP's life may be challenging or distressing. Please stop saying this to posters. You said it to me recently and I've had more than my fair share of worry and sadness

Absolutely this! Why some posters have to be unkind or sarcastic is beyond me!

Keeping a structure in family dynamics
Can give a sensé of security and normality for a child, not everything needs to change.
A child needs boundaries to push against and help them grow and make sensé of the world

I'm perhaps not very alert today but I don't understand what Keeping a structure in family dynamics actually means. Sorry.
Please could you explain?
Thanks.

Yes I think its weird and hurtful to you that your daughter would not interact with your little granddaughter to say who you are. What's wrong with her, she sounds somewhat immature (if you don't mind me saying so). She should be teaching your GD who her extended family are. I'm not so sure it's weird that she's not posting photos of yoir GD with other family members on social media though.

I agree with Shelflife, I didn't want to be called Granny or Grandma, I wanted to be called Nana, hubby wanted to be Tadcu. We told granddaughter's parents and that's what we are called. We would obviously have adapted had the child had a speech impediment.
