Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 it is illegal to let it escape onto adjacent property such as fields as it is invasive and swamps our native plants. I think this primarily refers to the common orange montbretia. I found some growing wild in our garden when we moved here some time ago and didn’t realise how invasive it was so I divided and moved it everywhere. Now I have to keep pulling it out and burning it - the advice is do not compost as it won’t kill it. Although that swamps and kills everything cultivated varieties such as Lucifer are nowhere near as invasive. I can’t believe how expensive Lucifer is to buy though when it propagates so easily.
This Israeli regime has to be stopped!
