But in the main I think wild flowers fail to compete with grass.
Yes, which is why we rake mowings up.
Also much of our 'lawns' are mosses, rushes and sedges. Grasses too but not the best kind of lawn grass. At the last count we had identified 222 wild plants in the garden. There are some cultivated species as well.
