Collared doves here as well as the wood pigeons crashing through the smaller branches of the trees and frightening the (grey) squirrels. Too many Magpies to count, I only know the rhyme up to 'Seven for a secret'. A robin - there were more but this one has seen the others off. We had two blackbird families as well and the occasional owl. All this in the city!

The collared doves have all come to my garden! We have dozens of them - and they aren't half noisy - plus they wait under the peanut-filled bird feeder for the ones the tits and finches drop. Jackdaws do the same.

Wood pigeons by the dozen but I don't know where the collar doves have gone to - there were several around in the spring and summer. My squirrel-proof bird feeder also seems to be bird-proof! I saw a bluetit gazing at the seeds, but it somehow didn't manage to find its way in. A squirrel had a good look at it, but was much too big.

Just think; these are the only birds to have been awarded medals during the war. Imagine what they could achieve if they had a brain; world domination perhaps!

Our pigeons are too fat to fly!

We had 2 make bullfinches feeding on the last of our raspberries 2 days ago- what brilliant colours. We also have loads of nuthatches feeding on the sunflower seeds, as well as blackcaps, tree sparrows, great and blue tits. Love it.

I love the way pigeons think they can outrun a car and then flutter off in disgust at the last minute lol

What is it with pigeons? They obviously prefer walking to flying and will only get out of the way with a little flutter. And every so often, we'll hear a crashing sound from the garden which will be a pigeon landing on a tiny branch and falling through the tree.

I love watching the birds feeding. A squirrel has discovered the peanuts and thinks he's won the lottery lol.

I have been wondering for ages where all the birds had gone and this morning the garden was full of them - blackbirds, blue tits, a sparrow and a robin.
