Keepitquiet. I too was told pumpkins for Halloween are not really suitable for eating. This was by a farmer growing pumpkins when he opened up for pumpkin picking and activities.
I’ve made a delicious pumpkin soup using a large supermarket pumpkin. I’d used it for display purposes at work, then brought it home. After cutting it into wedges and discarding the seeds I roasted the wedges in the oven and then used the flesh with onion, herbs, seasoning and garlic to make soup. Tasty it was, too.
