One of the simplest to make is Pici- from South East Tuscani. Hand rolled, traditionally no egg.

I had pici for the first time recently in Tuscany and it was fabulous.

I had it there too.

Jamie Oliver does various coloured pasta using greens carrots or beetroot. I have tried the beetroot one and leafy greens one look them up on Google.

We get pici from Lidl occasionally, it’s in the chiller cabinet when they have it in stock.

I always like it when (as has happened to me before now) some pompous name-dropping individual tries to tell me one can only get such-and-such at Fauchon in Paris or Fortnum’s or Harrods Food Hall.

I had it in a family run restaurant in Florence, although it was on various menus …. We travelled around.
It was served with a cheese and pepper sauce and was delicious.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled in Lidl.

We typically don't eat eggs, pici is our easy pasta of choice.

Interesting programme on TV last night with Stanley Tucci going into some of the many Italian restaurants in London, some divine looking pasta. Made me determined to try again as I have always found pasta heavy and claggy. Will look out for Pici in Lidl, my supermarket of choice!

We were in the Italian version of a Gite but ate out quite a lot in the little local restaurants. The pici really stood out. I think I have seen a dried version in Sainsbury's and an Angela Harnett cookbook shows you how to make it.
