Not quite a stepometer, but many many years ago I used to have one of those sort of resistance step things, do you know what I mean? I'm not talking about a little plastic platform type thing that you step on to and off again. This was something that you stood on and used pressure to push each separate foot platform down. (I'm drawing pictures in the air here, hope they help)
Aaaanyway, I realised I wasn't exactly taking it seriously when I took it in to the sitting room while the supper was cooking so that I could use it while watching Eastenders (for the record, I haven't watched Eastenders for over 8 years!). It wasn't the watching T.V that alerted me to the fact that my approach to my exercise regime wasn't exactly sound, it was more the fact that I had a glass of wine in one hand, and a cigarette in the other.
