How GRAND it is to have those little people in our lives.
Every smile and "I love you", has to be the most GRAND gift of all. How it's also GRAND for them to know that we are:-

*Richer for having them
*Adoring always
*Never bored by them
*Doting forever

Being a grandparent is almost like having the opportunity to become a child again yourself and all the fun that comes with it, the joy of stomping through muddy puddles in the rain, reading 'The Hungry Caterpiller' at bedtime. filling the bath with thousands of bubbles, making cakes, playing in the park, the 'grandest' feelings in the world in fact.

It is GRAND:-
To have the time and inclination to enjoy grandchildren. To love them without reservation. Have lots of fun with them. To be there whenever, and most important whatever, and for them to share the bond of love knowing it will never be questioned.

For me it's my wonderful little Granddaughter, Kate, who puts the "grand" in life for me. She had a shaky start, spending time in intensive care after a breathing problem developed on day two of her life, but is now healthy and robust.

I am a long distance Grandma and have used lots of tips I have found on this website to help me maintain a good relationship with her. We like the postcard idea the best and I send her silly postcards at least once a week.

The love I feel for her makes me so happy. I was on the ceiling the day she arrived and in truth, I haven't really come down yet.

The Grand stands for, being there for your children and your childrens children to help them through the laughter and the tears, the fun and the fears. To teach them everything life has taught you and let them teach you the fun things you've forgotten.

A hundreds of cuddles and kisses along with hundreds of laughs and smiles!

Our little grand daughter sees no age barrier when she looks at her grand parents. To her we are playmates capable of pushing the swing for hours, of leaping over her "long jump barrier" in the garden, and able to chase her round the house and read endless stories. She sees no reason why we can't play with her just the same as her little nursery companions do.
So to us putting the GRAND in grand parenting means being there as her friend, protecting her from outside nasties as much as possible, and letting her grow and develop at her own pace with a little bit of encouragement here and there.

Wonderful to be a part of their young lives. To care and nurture them and to be on hand when needed. To have our little secrets and treats, without mummy or daddy knowing!

I hope I can be the kind of Grand ma to my DGC that my dear Grand ma was to me.

I never knew my grandparents so it's a great pleasure to me to be a grandma to my boys. Given that so many people have problems having children and even when they do sometimes grandparents aren't allowed to share their grandchildrens lives I feel so blessed that I have mine...even more so that they all live close by.

Grand is how I feel every time I see them.

It's GRAND to spend time with your grandchildren - but as my mother will tell you, it's GREAT when their parents take them away again ;-)

It's GRAND to be able to help out with child care, which would otherwise be very expensive, and to be involved at every stage of the grandchildren's development.

The Grand bit has to be having so much fun but not the direct responsibility of day to day homework, tantrums etc, so much easier than being a parent !

being able to love and cherish a grandchild without all the stroppy bits is GRAND.X

Having grandchildren that are truly amazing and my pride and joy makes growing old soooooooo worth it.

The Grand means that grandparents are a treasure to enfold, with patience untold, and love that is pure gold.

Feeling young again, treating the grandchildren to things that we didn't necessarily have time for with our children.
