Christmas Party Playlist

Can we have a new thread for this year or would one be deleted?

Fairy Tale of New york, absolute classic!

And Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses.

Well, if it is a party something upbeat and jolly...Not my Christmas favourite but I found myself dancing around the kitchen to

Boney M's Mary's Boy Child/Oh my Lord.

When a Child is Born, by Johnny Mathis, guaranteed to have me in tears though.

Thank you GNHQ

A better selection than trawling through my old CDs!

Brilliant! Thank you so much GNHQ. Saves me trawling You Tube!

Paw used to call it “making a joyful noise unto the Lord”

mawbroon re your link. The young lady has clearly read Psalm 100 - maybe a version without the word “joyful”? Substitute enthusiastic. ?

Perhaps we could have a separate carol thread for a Gransnetters' Carol Service?
Try;
Carols against Coal ARRCC
www.arrcc.org.au/carols^
Weekend Australian! "Holy Smoke! Carols by renewable candlelight!"
"We wish you a Steady Climate" and "Silent Night,Smoky Night"
Dean Catt said it was not anti-christian to politicise Christmas. " Life is political and the gospel itself is political." Eh!
Sing away! You don't have to understand the meaning!

All sung beautifully please ( but not by me)
Lemongrove; and not by anyone, I hope! I've been misinformed yet again. My impression was that this is to be a Party, not "Carols by Candlelight" You should be able to manage "Mack the Knife"; if not you then somebody might. even if they can't do it like Bobby! Good toe-tapping stuff!

I wish it could be Christmas every day

This one

Silent Night in German (Stille Nacht) and Adeste Fidelis...

Our choir is singing O Holy Night at our Christmas concerts, tonight and tomorrow night. I love the Nat King Cole version.

I was taught German at school. I learned to sing Silent Night in German and can still remember the whole of the first verse. I hadn't heard it for years and then this week on some daytime TV show or other, Aled Jones and Russell Watson sang it. It's beautiful.

Try us Izabella.

Mmmmmm. Think I'd better stay off this one. My music taste would, I think, meet with confusion and puzzled looks.

Wolves are hard to find too! I did eventually on the Long River place but it was getting desperate!
