Good morning from a clear, dawning Bristol.
I have been awake for over an hour - I hope this silly, regular waking time will change when the weather cools down.
I spent yesterday making a shift dress out of one of the African print fabrics DS bought me. I’m happy with the result.
This morning, I’m meeting a FAB friend in the village for a drink. The afternoon will be spent stuffing an aubergine, probably my absolutely favourite vegetable.

Dare I say I haven’t woken up with a painful tooth this morning although I did wake really early. I think because it was such a tricky extraction the nerves have taken a bit of time to heal. Hopefully it’s on the right road now.

Just a usual Friday, cleaning, working and friend for coffee. I love my Fridays. I think it goes back to my younger days and the anticipation of the weekend.

I had Coff with a friend yesterday, caught up with all her news. DS and DGC1 video called yesterday afternoon, they’re off to Holland for a cycling competition at the weekend, I’m sure they’ll have a great time.
I’m going to art group this morning, I won’t be doing any painting but I’ll take my coloured pencils and maybe do something. My enthusiasm for art has evaporated for the time being but it’ll be good to get out of the house for a few hours.
I’ll get the housework out of the way before I go then I can do whatever I like when I get back.

Good morning from Malta where it is slightly cooler with a high of 33°C (real feel 36°C).

I walked up to the bank at 8.15 yesterday morning and it was already 30°C. Spent an hour with my financial advisor, I understand nothing about investments but I am very cautious after losing a large amount when DH and I made some disastrous mistakes.

Took myself for a coffee but there wasn’t a seat to be had in the a/c so I bravely sweltered outside to drink it. It actually wasn’t that bad, I sometimes think a/c everywhere makes it worse.

Anyway, I then walked down to the bakery shop for bread and milk, treated myself to a slice of carrot cake, then walked home in the direct sun as shade was gone by that time.

Spent the rest of the day on household tasks and laundry which means I have a bit of ironing to do this morning before I walk up to the village to meet my friend for coffee.

Later I’ve got the boys for a sleepover so I’m looking forward to having them.

Good morning all from a very cloudy Morecambe Bay. I know how cloudy it is as CDog needed the toilet so I was wandering round the garden as Mick was probably opening the thread.
DH and both dogs are now fast asleep but I’m wide awake. I’m regretting not making myself TiB before I came back up.
My lurgy seems to be on the way out. I definitely turned a corner yesterday finding the energy to check on my poor garden and give the saddest looking plants a drink. I even used my mini power washer to clean the garden waste bin after it had been emptied.
Today DS2 should finally own the home he has rented for the last eleven years. Completion should hopefully run smoothly. He’s looking forward to throwing out some of the landlords “furnishings”- old pictures, mirrors and a black television stand. DS2 doesn’t even own a television. DH will build him some bookshelves in the alcoves before the year is out and we will assess if he can make better use of the cellar.
Back to today- it’s more dog walking and maybe removing a few weeds from the garden. I also need to check on the other gardens I look after.
That dress is perfect for this weather Mattie I love those African prints.

Good morning everyone from the central south coast. We have some cloud cover this morning but the forecast is more sun and warm again. Small chance of a sprinkle of rain over the weekend.

I have a Tesco delivery this morning and DH has a scheduled call from the hospital to check his cancer recovery has been maintained. He was supposed to have a final scan last time but it never transpired so we will see what they say today.

We shall be watching the Tour de France this afternoon as it reaches Alpe d'Huez - a monster mountain climb. There will be thousands of excitable spectators throughout the climb which must make it very difficult for the riders!

We are forecast a cloud free day and 28° so I shall be in the garden on my lounger with my kindle this afternoon. First I shall go to the gym and have a tea and catch up with friends afterwards.

Yesterday was quiet. I did some housework in the morning and read in the afternoon.
Today I will change the sheets and duvet cover and wash it all. Hopefully I will hang it out. Apart from that, I have no plans. Have a good day all.

Yesterday I was busy, all day, culminating with an allotment visit, this time I took my soil meter to measure water in the soil. It saved me from a lot of fetching and carrying. When I got home I decided I needed to wipe down the inside of my car, there were cobwebs inside as well as outside

I have embraced the pattern cull for my future and have started well, I am putting cut printed pdf patterns and instructions into properly labelled A4 envelopes. I spent all day on my favorite designer, her patterns fit me so well and I know what alterations to make. I was printing, sticking and cutting out all day

More of that later today but I finished this top, it started as a toile with a remnant of linen with a dye fault but it is so nice to wear and was a joy to make with an exceptional quality fabric. It is definitely a keeper and is called Clemente.

My 4 blueberry plants arrived and are looking well in the very large pots. I need to prune them but that will be done after leaf fall

I am awaiting some organic items and will then have my breakfast and go and get my car washed. I think it is about an 18 mile round trip

I have veg juice to make and kefir to strain today and then much more sorting of pattern makers and patterns. It is worth it

Oh dear, grandMattie and karmalady my sewing skills are limited to sewing on buttons and award badges, and that’s it 😹

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun has well and truly got his hat on and I am having a sneezing fit this morning.

It was lovely walking in our big woods yesterday in the cool shade. I could happily have stayed there all day. Lunch with DD and then home for my hairdressers appointment. I always feel better for a good haircut.

I have the chiropodist coming this morning, which I don’t enjoy, and then this afternoon I’m going to see Odyssey at our iMax theatre. I go in with an open mind. My only misgiving is the length of the film.

Good morning from the NE mids. Bright and sunny here this morning. I lifted more onions yesterday and there’s not many left in the veg patch now. Beetroot won’t be long before I can harvest some…….between a golf ball and tennis ball size so they’re not woody and tough.
Meeting a friend for lunch today, we haven’t seen each other in a while and there’s lots to catch up on.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where Alexa tells me it’s going to be partly sunny today with a high of 21°C. L’il Miss will be here in half an hour and for lunch I plan we walk over to theirs and take her and the Boy Wonder to the independent cafe round the corner.

Their mum finishes for her summer break so will be home by 4pm. She can’t wait!

Yesterday we had a jaunt into Bury where a found a mat to place on the hard floor tiles at the bottom of the stairs.

I think it was FriedGreenTomatoes who mentioned a dress from Roman the other day. I like Roman clothes; I've got items I've had for years. I spotted a cotton dress I liked, tried it on and bought it.
I've rediscovered dresses over the last couple of years after decades of wearing separates.
Mum always told me I don't have the figure for dresses and separates hid my flaws better, but at 62 I'm rebelling. 🤣
Mind you, as I was walking back to the car, I did think that GrandMattie or Karma would have run a similar item up in an afternoon from their fabric stash but I don't have their skills.

I looked up Sashiko embroidery, RosesandLilac. I could be very tempted to give it a try.

DH is working from home today so I think I'll take the little chap to the library this morning. There's a cafe attached so we may have a cake too.

Good morning from N. Bucks on another warm morning.
DGS didn’t want to go home yesterday after his day with us. I think although he loves his big brother , he also enjoys having all the attention on himself. Really enjoyed choir last night. We had fun warming up by singing old advert jingles. Then some of our well known songs an a new one which I think might eventually be one of my favourites.
DH is off to golf and apart from putting on a wash and a nail appointment I have a free day. I intend to take my paints out in the shady part of the garden and indulge myself.

Good morning from Wiltshire with more cloud this morning it with no rain forecast. We sat out last night as it was so nice and saw bees struggling to find pollen. It’s too hot for them during the day. I’ve seen hardly any butterflies this year. The garden looks very tired and grass has turned brown.

DD2 came round for lunch with the kids. DGS2 was not on good form. He never is if his mum is there. DGD3 said “When Gramps tells him off he listens but never to Mum or Dad”. We went to the local park for football and bat and ball games which was much better.

DD2 got her MRI result. A hemiplegic migraine seems to have been the cause of her temporary paralysis down one side of her body but they couldn’t rule out a TIA because several weeks passed between the episode and her MRI. She can now drive again.

Collection to make from Next today and some bits and bobs from M&S food hall. Will have a BBQ later I think. 🍷will be involved, though probably white this time as we will have chicken.

Yesterday I did a top up shop and visited the butchers. In the afternoon, my friend and neighbour came round for a catch up and then we got an impromptu invitation from another neighbour for drinks in the garden. We had a lovely evening and a fair bit of sangria was drunk.
