Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but a clear sky above Brackley and remains dry.
The usual routine for me with a bus journey into Bicester , shop and maybe have a chat to those I know.
My Health is OK , Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and followers, I love the date!
It cool here, I’ve been awake for ages so it’s going to be a very long day…..
Yesterday was another faffing day, I seem to be unable to settle to anything which is irritating me 🙄
Housework first today then I will make myself start the sashiko today, try and settle down for an hour or so. I’m driving myself nuts fidgeting around!
Salad for dinner, it’s going to be a warmer day today, there’s trifle for pudding 😋
Have a good day if you can x
🌹

Good morning from another clear day in Bristol. It is quite cool. Interesting that although the days have been very hot, the night have generally been blessedly cool.
ash & bellas, hope you had good journeys and welcome home.
Yesterday was very quiet, with just church. I rested for most of the remaining day, apart from pulling up my sweet peas from one pot with the intention of replacing the plants with something colourful to last into autumn. Tesco, here I come!
Today, Tesco am, not WI in the early afternoon and an extraordinary PCC meeting in the evening, to talk about the impending interregnum and preparations for the advertising for a new vicar.
May you all have a good week, free from troubles. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 20-Jul-26 05:32:06

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy. GrandMattie I love sweet peas. Roses I'm not surprised you are unsettled. You have a lot to deal with.
Yesterday I did some ironing and put a little wash out. Then hoovered and washed the wrought iron railings. Tesco delivered so that all was put away. I just pottered about for the rest of the day.
Today should be early childcare day but dd sent a message saying I can pick up the boys later as she's not going to work today. It's not like her to be off work, so she's obviously still unwell. I didnt read the message until this morning and I'm up anyway. Dgs1 will be delivered to a football camp later then picked up again while dgs2 and I will stay at my house. There are plenty things for him to do. I must make soup for his lunch though. That's a given. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Mon 20-Jul-26 05:32:49

I didnt hoover the wrought iron railings. Bad sentence construction!

grandMattie Mon 20-Jul-26 05:37:45

Hoovering railings is a new one on me, batty! 😂. Intriguing concept…

ginny Mon 20-Jul-26 06:15:52

Good morning, not sure why I’m awake so early but I get up in a short while. I need a cup of tea.
My Sister in Law will arrive late morning to stay for a few days At lunchtime we will collect DGSs 2 &3 from their tennis morning and feed them. They will be picked up by DD3 after a couple of hours.
We’ll see how the rest of the day pans out.
Hope our poorly friends can find some relief today and ever has a pleasant day.

Puss Mon 20-Jul-26 06:16:21

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cool start.

Yesterday I took my French Helpers, with the pottery they have made, to a friend's place. Her kiln was being fired whereas mine is still empty since I've been unable to make anything recently due to my sore back.

We then admired her garden and fed her sheep, had coffee with her neighbour and did a big Tesco shop on the way home. The French were surprised to know that shops are open on Sundays.

I went to a plant swap/sale in the afternoon and got shot of my lupins and other seedlings I have grown from seed. It's all for charity. I picked out parsley as mine has gone to seed

In the evening we were invited by my lodgers into their flat downstairs for the most delicious Nepalese meal and very jolly evening.

I shall miss all these people when they leave.

Ofcourse you are restless Rosesandlilac
I hope your treatment begins soon.

I hope the travellers are safe and the poorly ones better.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Bellasnana Mon 20-Jul-26 06:40:54

Good morning from Malta where it is 27°C at present. The high today is 43°C which will ‘feel like’ 46°C.

We had a lovely last day on the beautiful island of Mallorca, visiting Sóller and Valdemossa. We still feel there is a lot more to explore so a return visit would be lovely some time.

We took the boys to an indoor play area for an hour so they could let off steam before the journey home.

The airport was heaving, their a/c either not on at all, or very feeble. We had to do all the bag drop thing ourselves, printing all the labels on a machine. It was a faff as we had our two suitcases, two car seats and two pushchairs to check in.

We then had to walk to the farthest corner of the airport to drop the car seats at the bulky luggage point, they don’t make it easy for you.

Managed to find a spot to sit in a food place so the boys could have something to eat before our flight which was delayed.

After standing for what seemed like hours on a ramp leading to the bus which took us to the plane, my ankle had swollen to resemble the foot of one of the larger dinosaurs we had seen earlier in the week (think Brontosaurus 😂) so I was cursing Mr O’Leary for the way the poor customer is treated.

Eventually arrived in Malta at around 11.30 pm, both boys fast asleep so we carried them off the plane still sleeping, where their daddy was waiting for us and delivered me safely home.

I had closed all the roller shutters on the outside of my windows which had kept the sun out but it was still very warm and stuffy. I had a shower and flopped into bed with my dinosaur foot raised on a pillow and I zonked off, , totally exhausted but glad to have had such a lovely few days. I miss those little chaps already, they really are Treasures.

I plan to unpack and do the laundry but I shall take it easy as it is not a day for going out in such extreme temperatures, although I do have a notice to say there is a parcel to be collected from the post office, but it can wait until tomorrow.

I laughed at the thought of you hoovering the railings, Grandmabatty 😄. I do run the hoover over my fake turf though, it feels slightly silly but it does the job!

Thanks for all your well-wishes. I shall now try to catch up on all your news as I haven’t had time to read in detail yet.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we have watery sunshine. That will be the only thing watery about the weather again today.

Yesterday I made a hot smoked salmon and asparagus quiche and took it and some salad over to DDs so that we could eat lunch together. The menfolk had gone to Birkdale for the golf and so it broke the day up for both of us. I came home and finished cleaning my bathroom, did some small jobs in the garden and settled down to do very little for the rest of the afternoon.

Today is an empty. See what comes to pass.

Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 20-Jul-26 06:50:36

Good morning from my little corner of S E Essex, where it is glorious and sunny 🌞

I am going back to the gym today shall see how my body feels and not be silly.

This evening I am going to pick up the teenage GC and take them to dinner, I need to make a reservation. First I need to decide on a restaurant…

I have been to Minorca and Ibiza, never been to Mallorca, would you recommend it Bellasnana ?

Thinking of our poorly friends 🌺 Hope your meds have kicked in Marydoll . Hope you had a good nights sleep FGT2 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from a cloudy but brightening North Leicestershire.

Busy day ahead today. Shopping for the choir end of term party, back and shoulder massage and then a Carer Learner Session. Hopefully it won't be too hot.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmabatty Mon 20-Jul-26 07:03:59

luluaugust a very happy anniversary to you both

Marzipan22 Mon 20-Jul-26 07:20:05

Good morning from my breezy patio in Cornwall. It was a tiny bit cooler yesterday so I was able to stay outside until 2pm before the heat affected my breathing. Jumped on a bus as usual and discovered a treasure - a hidden plant nursery I've passed hundreds of times on my bus jaunts but I decided to stop there for a change only to discover they had a white periwinkle plant, something I've been trying to find for ages, plus a delightful pop-up café where I sat and enjoyed lemon drizzle cake and tea. Came home feeling thoroughly spoilt.

Today I want to try to complete a denim jacket I'm making for a friend. These last touches are tricky. And I must work out what I'm going to buy my youngest grandson for his upcoming birthday. Oh, these first world problems! 😀

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny but cool this morning. A sunny day is forecast, cooler than of late, which is more comfortable. DD1 came over yesterday with the family and dog. After they’d gone I did a little gardening, emptying out a large dead hydrangea from its pot. Too heavy for me to lift into the garden waste bin, so I’ll have to break it up before I can put it in the bin.
Apart from that, nothing planned for today.

* Luluaugust* Happy Anniversary, have a lovely day.🥂

bellasnana another busy day for you yesterday, but what a marathon journey home. I can’t imagine how hot 43 degrees would feel - I’m wilting at 30!

melanie I hope that your dentist will be able to ease your painful mouth.

Thinking of all who are unwell, hoping that today will bring some relief for you.

Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Mon 20-Jul-26 07:27:08

Good morning and I love this cooler weather. Must make the most of it , as it gets warmer later in the week.

DS1 and family are off to Center Parcs today , so will enjoy relaxation along with activities. DS likes to be ‘doing’.

Poor Dd isn’t well . She’s had raging toothache and couldn’t find a dentist over the weekend. She’s been sick with the pain, so her meds haven’t been kept down,so now she’s having with drawl symptoms. Oh dear!

I have my usual cabbie picking me up , driving to get DGD and bring her back here to school. She’ll stay with us tonight, as it’s last day of school tomorrow. She didn’t want to miss the fun.

Such a good girl - her school report was outstanding! After all she goes through too. My tiny ‘Lionheart’.

What a journey home you had Bellasnanna . Glad you had a lovely time though.
Happy anniversary Luluaugust. Enjoy your day together 🥂.

Take care all. 🌺

Good morning Micheal and all GN's on a still , reasonably cool so far, morning in North Yorkshire.

I wanted to make sure that I could at least read your posts, as I am being moved ~ not by choice~ onto another broadband at 8am. Well it will depend on if I have swapped things correctly and so not sure if all will go well this morning.

Glad you got home safe and sound Bellasnana and hope you feel better after a rest. Melanie61 hope your tooth improves. Hope everyone has a good day, and hope , fingers crossed that the changeover goes ok here and I can come back later . Wishing you all a good day

Jaxjacky Mon 20-Jul-26 07:32:20

Morning from a bright, cooler S Hants.
Happy Anniversary luluaugust 🥂🌹
MrJ is back from Belfast today, it’s also his 64th birthday, think takeaway tonight.
I’ll have a tidy up and have a catch up call with a friend as well as emailing my hip surgeon.
Safe travels and a gentle day all.

Good Morning everyone from the central south coast. It's sunny and warm but not scorchio with a gentle breeze. Perfect for comfort.

Had our usual video chat with DD yesterday and made plans for their visit 1/2 August. They will stay at a local B&B as they have a late night party on 1st and we shall join them for breakfast on 2nd. Our days of late nights are long gone and replaced with early mornings.

I shall watch the goings on in Downing Street this morning and be interested to hear what plans the new PM has to impart. He will be the 9th living PM which seems a bit excessive!

Wishing all those with troubles of any sort an easier day with some relief.

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Hope your ankle feels better today Bella.

It’s been a pleasant, relaxing weekend. We sat in the garden chatting with our friends on Saturday evening and enjoyed the spread of M&S food. It looked impressive even though all I had done was open some packets and arrange it prettily.

Yesterday was quiet, Mass then lunch and a couple of hours in the garden with my book.

DH is having a day out with his friend today so I’ll sort out some laundry and be here for the Sainsbury’s delivery.

Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Mon 20-Jul-26 07:48:11

Good morning all from the Black country.
Yesterday's trip to the outlet was not very successful, found some shoes for the wedding but they didn't have my size will have to try on line. I then found some trousers in Hobbs my size tried them on and they fell down and I know I haven't lost weight, again no smaller size available. Never mind though the Lindt chocolate shop had everything I wanted.🍫🍬
Just a local shop today then back to finish my book.
Happy Anniversary Luluaugust🍾🥂
Condolences to you and your family Puss
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and take care 😎.

brook2704 Mon 20-Jul-26 07:51:59

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s another lovely bright warm start to the day
A very Happy Anniversary to you both luluaugust enjoy your day 💐🥂❤️
Goodness what a journey home Bellas, take it easy today
I’ve some food shopping to do today and then looking forward to going out this evening to my dance classes. There’s a bit of a local rumour that a new M&S food store is due to open up out of town, I really hope so!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
