BlueSapphire

I just thought I would post a picture of my breakfast today!
Champagne breakfast (always on days when a formal night is planned!).
American pancakes, maple syrup and fruit, it was delicious!

We had pancakes, fruit and maple syrup for breakfast too but alas, no champagne. 🤣

Thank you BlueSapphire for posting the lovely photograph of yourself and Bella it is good to know she is ok and that you are enjoying your holiday.
That breakfast looks amazing but I wouldn’t be able to eat anything else all day!!

Good morning everyone from stormy Lancashire.

My health continues to be challenging but we have some good times too. I have very little energy and am not good at pacing myself. We manage to get out for a walk most days but definitely not today! I took the attached photo last Sunday, what a difference. Today I’m watching the storm from my window. Bacon rolls for lunch shortly.

I hope you are all safe and warm.

Wishing you all a good day whatever you’re doing. 🌹

Good morning, Michael12 and all!

It's still storming heavily here as of all night, so beautiful! On my way to work this morning, various loose shop signs had been blown all over the road and pavements, and a gazebo was no more! The unsecured shed in the car park at the back of our flats had done hundreds of quid worth of damage to Mr Creep's car and bits and pieces to others. This morning I checked various places in case of any injured or deceased animals or birds, but thankfully didn't find any.

When I finished work yesterday, I went to the Co-Op for a box of washing powder and started to realise exactly how many washes I do each week! I live alone, always have, never with anyone else or flat shares or anything, but I do 3 or 4 washes a week! I understand in winter/storms, as my clothes become saturated, so I have to bung them in the machine, but during dry weather?!

I found this brilliant book about menopause. Actually found it in a charity shop for a quid. It goes into some serious details about exactly what women's brains and bodies go through. Various medical and psychological changes, details that even a lot of women don't know! How it can literally change your personality and cause all kinds of stuff.

I've absolutely no idea what it was, but there was a really weird sound from outside last night, probably caused by the storm, but I got out of bed about 11:30. My bedroom window was open but on the catch, so not fully open, as I didn't want the storm smashing the glass in, and I opened it wide for a few seconds to poke my head out. The only way I can describe the noise was like... a hole in a hole....it sounded really primitive too! I put the window back on the catch, guzzled some cold water and went back to bed!

For any Angelina Jolie fans here who love animals, she's bought about 150,000 acres in Cambodia to combat illegal logging and poaching, and has employed local residents, including former poachers, as park rangers to protect local wildlife, which includes elephants, Indochinese tigers and black bears. It's all part of the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

It also includes funding local schools, healthcare - reaching annually over 10,000 people and beekeeping programs and sustainable farming!

Customers coming in. See you later!

.

Lovely photo of you both, awful night here in the north east the wind howled and howled. Just got up after a restless night. It’s still going and the garden furniture is scattered. My husband and son are due to go to the match if it’s still on. So fingers crossed. I have nothing much planned just to keep out of the wind and make Sunday lunch hope all are well and escaping this storm.

Good morning from Shropshire where it is bright but very windy.

We didn’t venture out with the children yesterday due to the weather but managed to keep them entertained with baking and pumpkin carving.DGD did some reading and DGS played with Lego.A few disagreements!I was glad DD came for them and we didn’t have to venture out.

I thing on the agenda today which I am grateful for after a disturbed night. My blood glucose monitor sounded a low sugar alarm at 2am which meant I had to eat something 🤢 no reason for it as I had eaten a normal amount during the day, just happens sometimes 🙄

Safe travels Ash and olddudders and hope the sea stays cam for you BlueSapphire.A lovely photo of you and Bellas.

I am sorry you iso unwell Marydoll.I hope another day in bed and the new medication will help you 🙏🏻

Wishing you all the best day possible and hoping everyone stays safe in the storm🌻🦩

dragonfly46 Sun 25-Oct-26 08:20:12

Good morning it’s blowing a gale here.

DD is driving up this afternoon from the south. I hope it’s not too bad on the motorway.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Gelisa Sun 25-Oct-26 08:18:12

Good morning all from Morecambe Bay where it is now dry following torrential rain yesterday. However, the wind has not yet abated much and the local forecast suggests it will be Wednesday before it drops.
I hope you have a good journey Ash and you don’t suffer delays or too bumpy a crossing.
DH is taking his pre diabetic health course very seriously and is following the instructions to the letter! He has already hit his target weight - his BMI was in the normal range before he started, and is now lighter than he’s been since a teenager. I can’t see him keeping this up much longer. The whole programme of checking in with “Fiona” the AI bot, is totally not DH.
Karma how you get so much sewing done is beyond me. I used to sew quite a bit but I couldn’t do it day after day or produce so many garments. I hope I can get my sewing mojo back for the winter months once the piano is out of my craft room. It’s new feet just need varnishing then we need to work out how to get the thing downstairs without damaging the recently decorated staircase or injuring ourselves in the process!
Take care🌸

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's still windy but the rain has stopped. I'll inspect for storm damage later.

The wedding was truly lovely. It's the DD of a much loved local family who are all musicians so the songs and dances were extra good.
I left about 10pm on foot and was blown the short walk home.

Couldn't get to sleep listening to the rain and wind. I haven't much planned for today. My Helper picked apples yesterday and came back from the community pressing with 5 large bottles of juice. I may go today with more fruit.

What a lovely picture of you 2 in the Malta sunshine BlueSapphire!

Clever sewing Karma. You put me to shame. I have patterns and fabric languishing in a bag somewhere.

Sorry to hear of a few poorly DC, GC and Marydoll I hope you all have a better day.

Make good use of your extra hour.😊

Ashcombe Sun 25-Oct-26 08:03:42

Lovely photo - good to see you both, BlueSapphire!

Thank you for all the good wishes for our journey - much appreciated. Looking much calmer now, I'm pleased to say.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had a very stormy night, it’s still very wet and windy this morning so we’ll definitely be staying in
A lovely photo of you both BlueSapphire thank you. I hope Bellas is doing ok and back with us soon
DS is away with work this weekend so we’re not having our usual Sunday morning call, I’ll message him later and see how he’s doing. It’s half term for the dgc in Cambridge and they’re all away in Northumberland somewhere. Meanwhile the dgc here both go back to school tomorrow
Hope your DD isn’t too poorly Gingster and gets well again soon
Safe travels Ash and everyone else on the move today
Hoping everyone has the best day they can, take care all 💐

Good morning from a sunny and very windy Suffolk. I’m hoping the combination of the 2 will dry out the wooden frame of the outdoor sofa so it can be put in the summer house til Spring. I dried off the cushions indoors yesterday.

I haven’t yet read through the posts but noticed a lovely photo of Bella and Blue against a beautiful sunny background. Hope all survived whatever the weather produced for you yesterday.

I must continue sorting out a couple of the spare bedrooms for family visits tomorrow. 1 lot live in the west and another in East Yorkshire so,with the distances and teenagers and their many and various activities, the chances to all get together don’t happen very often.

Hope today is an easy one for all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 25-Oct-26 07:57:19

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s wet and windy. Strong gales woke me up around 2am but I snuggled back into the pillow grateful (unlike some) not to be out there. We have the amber weather warning until 9pm tonight.

I don’t have to go out or be anywhere so I shan’t. Today can just be reading and maybe a bit of Netflix with mugs of tea.

I’m enjoying my first TiB and doubtless will spend the day wondering intermittently what the ‘real time’ is!

NannyJan53 Sun 25-Oct-26 07:50:27

Good morning from a bright Black Country where there is a cloudless sky, but not for long I fear.

We are driving down to Somerset today, to clean the caravan and make it Winter Storage ready. Drive back tomorrow, with a detour at Bristol for an hour to see MrJ's DD.

Lovely photo of you both Blue and Bellas

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Gagagran Sun 25-Oct-26 07:46:23

Good Morning everyone from a bright and clear central south coast with the sun showing its face again after being very moody for the last day or two. The wind has eased after managing to blow over the obelisk in the rear garden, again. DH tried to fix it the first time but obviously the wind decided otherwise, He will have another go this morning.

My own wardrobe weeding encouraged DH to have a go at his, aided by me doing the folding and bagging the discarded items. He finally accepted that he will not wear them again. Some are well over 30 years old so almost class as vintage! The stair lift proved very useful in carrying the bags downstairs for us.

All clocks were changed last night before bed - an hour later than normal to try and encompass the change into my internal body clock. Not altogether successful but not as bad as sometimes happens. I really dislike the twice yearly task,

Safe journey to all travellers today and especially Ash and Olddd crossing a hopefully, calm channel. I'll give you a "welcome back" wave as you go by!

Laundry today and the usual video call from DD who went to London yesterday to buy a dress for their civil partnership ceremony on 21 December. It is all being kept ultra low key and only they and their two children will be present. We shall send flowers, a card and some cash and enjoy a nice photo, eventually.

Nice photo of Bellas and BlueSapphire enjoying a meeting in Malta. You are missed on here Bellas. Enjoy the rest of your cruise, Blue.

Take care everyone and kind thoughts to all who are struggling, especially with health issues or worries. May the day bring some relief and comfort.
