Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in Brackley this morning.
The usual early bus into Bicester , have a coffee and snack plus maybe a beer or two after , shop and hopefully talk to people I know.
Later have a Chinese take away , and then start the process of putting clocks back and hour before I retire to bed .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and damp. The sky is dark grey clouds understood with deep pink. It is beautiful but ominous.
BlueSapphire enjoy your catch up with Bellasnana who is much missed on this forum.
Yesterday I headed to Aldi and stocked up. I bought bottled water for emergencies and added tuna to my stores. I'm not fond of tinned fish but it'll do in a pinch. Back home and I got everything washed apart from the bedding which I will do this morning. The rain didnt stop for most of the day so I stayed home and 'cooried doon'. In other words, made myself comfortable.
Although we didn't have the winds here yesterday, the next named storm is due to hit here later, so I will get into the garden and move a couple of things. The bedding will be washed and dried this morning too. I will make lentil and vegetable soup as well. I have a delivery expected of flasks to give me hot food and drinks if necessary. Later I will carve a small pumpkin for Halloween and finish sorting the bags for guisers. A little early but it's going to be a busy week so I would rather be prepared. The usual Saturday housework too. Dinner will be trout and salad. Then an evening watching Strictly, hopefully, as long as the power stays on. Enjoy your day all and stay safe.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s quiet just now with a beautiful orange sunrise, the stormy bad weather is due later
How lovely that you’re meeting Bellasnana, BlueSapphire, I hope she’s doing ok. Your cruise sounds lovely, gorgeous pictures thanks, enjoy every minute!
DH and I are going out to the shops and to have a coffee this morning then we’ll be home at lunchtime and then in for the rest of the day. During the week we’re both usually busy with various activities so it’s good for us to take time out together at the weekend and sit chatting over a coffee somewhere. It usually consists of us updating our ever growing list of things to do and talking about holiday plans, which may or may not happen!
Beautiful pictures holly you’re very talented
Hope everyone has the best day they can, take care if out and about and have a good day all 💐

Good morning from a bright and somewhat breezy Suffolk after a day of persistent rain yesterday. I think we have not had the strong winds that others have experienced.

Our large natural pond has been totally dried up for a few weeks now but began to hold some water yesterday…just a few puddles really. The family of resident moorhens have been absent for some time but we were delighted to see them last evening walking in a line round the edge. Where they have been we don’t know but very happy to see them again.

Our 2 lovely young cleaners will be here shortly and we have the usual Waitrose delivery later. Until then I shall get rooms ready for a family get together, the final celebration of my birthday in June!

Hope today is an easy one for all and those in parts of the country predicted to have storms escape any damage.

Good morning from a bright W Kent.
A visit to the farm shop today for gluten free sausages, the best I have found locally. I think we are dropping in on DS and DIL for a short visit, otherwise a quiet afternoon and curry tonight
Best wishes to all

GrannyGravy13 Sat 24-Oct-26 08:19:44

Good morning. It is dry here at the moment, the sun has put in an appearance. We are forecast more rain and wind this afternoon, so I shall hunker down with a book, after I have prepared all the onions for pickling.

I hope Bellasnana is feeling better 🙋‍♀️ enjoy your catch up BlueSaphire

Marydoll keep resting 🌺

Good morning from Shropshire. After yesterday’s stormy weather it is calm with no rain at the moment although more heavy rain forecast later.

We collected the children from school then called at the garden centre.DGS loves plants so he went with grandpa to check out the plants while DGD and I went to Pavers where I got boots and a bag then we had a look round the Christmas decorations.I thought of you madeleine as DGS chose a plant from the sick bay.

Today we have pumpkins to carve then DGD will make cupcakes while DGS helps grandpa close down the greenhouse. We still have lots of tomatoes so they will pick them all.The red ones will be used for soup and sauce and the green ones will sit and ripen. It is the latest we have still been getting tomatoes daily from the greenhouse.DD will collect the children later.

Have a lovely meet up Blue and Bellas.Safe journey and enjoy time with your son madeleine.Hoping for a calm crossing for you tomorrow Ash and olddudders 🙏🏻

Wishing everyone a good day 🌻🦩

Good morning all from a quiet, calm and bright Essex.
Last night was quite wild and the windows were howling, moaning and ,in turn ,screaming. I think they all need some sealant.
Dh asked me three times ‘what’s that noise’?

Yesterday I walked up to town to go into the Blind shop to have a look and book a quote. Closed due to a family weekend wedding! 😬.
I bought a jumper for me and one for Dh. I hate a wasted journey! 😏.

Today we are going out with my two brothers, one sister-in-law and a nephew who will be picking us up. We’ll have lunch at a country pub and then back to db1’s for a cuppa and chat.
I’m looking forward to it but a bit concerned how Dh will be. 🤞.

Karma I’m shocked how you used to be a size 20, with all your doings. Cycling, digging, bouncing etc. well done you. Slow and steady! 👏👏.

Bluesapphire give our love to Bellasnanna. Tell her we miss her. Enjoy your time with her.

I hope you all stay safe with the weather coming in again later today. 🙏

GrannySomerset Sat 24-Oct-26 08:44:28

We have missed the extreme weather, for which I am thankful, and have grey morning with little wind. Highlight of the day will be the Tesco delivery, something else I am thankful for. Otherwise nothing planned. This living alone is very tedious in winter.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 5°C.

We have a yellow wind warning for tonight. We always have roof damage, due to the position of our house.
Last year, we had to pay a fortune for scaffolding, our insurance company, would only pay so much.
Dollie and her classmates were supposed to have an outside Halloween function down at the waterworks ( Lockadoon???), but it has been moved inside, to a church hall. Not quite the same.

Thank you all for your good wishes yesterday.
I have had a bit of a fright, to say the least.
DH was convinced that I was going to be sent to A&E and insisted on putting my hospital bag in the car. I was too,
I could have cried with relief, when the on call GP, asked me to come down right away, for an appointment with my now retired GP, who sometimes does locum work in the practice.
His heart must have sank, when he saw my name. No quick appointment here.😉

He said, because microvasculer angina is very difficult to diagnose and treat, it was going to be problematic to actually find out what was making me so unwell.
To make matters worse, my BP was at 180/ 99! That was a shock, to say the least.
He looked at my readings on the NHS BP app and shook his head, it is has been going up and down like a yoyo.
He made no comment, when I said, I had sought help two weeks ago, only to be dismissed by the nippy GP.

Furthermore, I needed urgent bloods done and the nurse squeezed me in.
It worked out well, for it was she, who phoned me in the takeaway last week, so we sorted my asthma plan too.
I have had two sets of bloods done in the last two months for various clinic, but none were the specialised one, which will indicate if my heart is behaving or not. I can tell you right now, it isn't. 💔

The GP also advised me, something else is also going on with my chest. It seems the chest infection of a few months ago hasn't quite resolved itself. 😔

Georgesgran, I promise I intend to follow doctor's orders. I have had a wake up call.
Having no control over my heart function was scary.

The P.P knows how unwell I am and I have informed all the various groups, I have contact with.
DH ran me up to church, (5 mins away), where I deposited the piles of paperwork and leaflets, which I had been working on.
There is no need for anyone to contact me.

Today will be restful. DS2 is very worried, I suspect he will be here with Babydoll..

I hope "Bellas* and Blursapphire have a lovely meet up, in such a beautiful setting.

We had such a beautiful sky this morning, but the sky is now looking quite ominous.

Have the best day possible, and for those, who have mountains to climb daily, my very best wishes.♥️

Morning all from a blustery and cool West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday was a curate’s egg type of day. We had a delicious full English breakfast in our local town before attending a very good Art Society lecture on Turner and Constable. Then an excellent haircut with my usual hairdresser.

Back home and a difficult phone call from the Vet about Milo the cat’s test results. Basically, he probably has multiple ailments, possibly cancer, anaemia etc. She did not suggest an array of treatment but simply palliative care. I will book him for a scan next week just to confirm what is going on.

Our daughter is coming this weekend. We haven’t seen her for a while. She has been on holiday to Sicily and Rome. It will be good to see her.

Grammaretto Sat 24-Oct-26 09:04:27

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Very quiet here. Is this the lull before the storm I wonder 🤔.

I hope you don't have roof damage Marydoll , nor me. I really don't want a winter with all the worries although I have to remind myself that the house has stood for over 200 years.

Enjoy your Malta meeting GM and Bella's

Last night's dinner turned into a party. It was lovely in the firelight. My recently widowed friend particularly enjoyed it.

I am going to a wedding later today so really hope there is aren't power cuts. I was at this same girl's 21st when the frozen pipes burst and a ceiling fell in!

Hoping everyone has a good day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 24-Oct-26 09:11:24

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry at present, 14°C and rain forecast later. I have a quiet day ahead. I’m over to my neighbour friend though at 6pm for our Strictly fest (I don’t love the programme to be honest but I do enjoy our evening together, watching it and having supper if that makes sense?). If I were on my own on a Saturday night I’d not watch it, I’d rather be with something on Netflix.

Anyway, it’s my turn to make food so I’m going to do my SOAP dish (sage, onion, apples and pork), make it late morning and take it round cold ready to pop in her oven for half an hour to reheat and brown the mashed potato topping. Wine will get poured while we wait! 😁

I know I shall feel a bit emotional making it as it was one of Himself’s favourite meals and owing to our circumstances it’s well over two years since I’ve made it. Hey ho. Life goes on.

Marydoll Sat 24-Oct-26 09:13:25

I am in bed and was having a Whats app chat with DD, then saw a message, which said: You can show me, when you come down stairs.,

I had no idea, that she was in the house. 😂

Morning all from a horrible wet windy Co Armagh

Hope resting helps you Marydoll

Good morning from Stockport where I am being lazy and enjoying tea in bed.
It is cold and damp, I have made tentative arrangements to go to a garden centre with my GD and her partner but I may cancel.
I had a Sainsbury’s delivery yesterday, did two loads of laundry, got the soup maker out and made leek and potato which will do three lunches next week.
Apart from that I read , a book I was pleased to get to the end of as I didn’t enjoy but was determined to finish.

I hope Bluesapphire and Bella enjoy their meet-up and get our good wishes to them both.
The rest of you I send my greetings and wishes for a good day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 24-Oct-26 10:43:40

Thanks for the heads up on Sam and Ade Go Birding, Greyduster I’ve just looked it up. Channel 5 two seasons.

I’ve forwarded the information on to our Yorkshire Lass. One of her monthly charities is the RSPB and I’m sure she’d love to watch it over the winter.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 24-Oct-26 10:54:21

Some days are just harder than others aren’t they? x

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 24-Oct-26 11:02:59

I’m wondering who could get the prize for ‘laziest GNer still in bed?’

(Asking for a friend).

TheWeirdoAgain60 Sat 24-Oct-26 11:07:11

Good morning, Michael12 and all!

I'm loving every second of the gorgeous storms! All the cold, rain and wind!

In the car park behind our flats, there's a lightweight shed that belongs to one of the residents. It's a single-use; it looks more like a porta-loo, not held down to the concrete. About 11:30, in bed last night, I knew the storm was raging, and I heard one hell of a couple of huge bangs. I ran to the door and yanked it open to find the shed had up-lifted from the ground, flew through the air and crashed onto a car, taking out the windshield and doing other damage to it. Guess whose car it is? Mr Creep! So I laughed and went back to bed!

Bye for now!

Marydoll Sat 24-Oct-26 11:14:12

I am in bed and was having a Whats app chat with DD about a bag, I had bought, then saw a message, which said: You can show me, when you come downstairs.,

I had no idea, that she was in the house

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 24-Oct-26 11:27:52

Call her upstairs to you Marydoll otherwise someone I know might just get this morning’s prize (for slothful behaviour)!

Marydoll Sat 24-Oct-26 11:40:48

I went downstairs, planning to laze in the conservatory, trying not to be slothful.

Had a dizzy spell, then was violently sick.
Poor DD hadn't realised how unwell I was. 😧 she was quite upset.

Life is just rubbish!

hollysteers Sat 24-Oct-26 12:07:18

Weirdo you do make me laugh😁👍
