I know we have been lucky in that the start of October was mild, and that now we are back to more 'seasonal' temps ..BUT, I don't know if it is because I've been used to being relatively warm, but now it's plummeted I can't seem to adjust.I've felt really chilled the last few days and have felt cold in bed.I feel it's 'Too early' for me to feel like this and I don't really want to take any of my winter measures just yet !! Is it just me ?

Heating on here morning and evening but last evening I had to turn the thermostat up.
10:5 tog duvet on but it is slightly too warm.

Wood burner lit this afternoon. Went to sleep directly in the warmth .

The heating has switched on a couple of times as it is set for 19 year round.
Yesterday we drove to Somerset from Bedfordshire and I kept an eye on the temperature - Swindon was the chilliest place on our journey at 4C at about 7 am.

I have been wearing gloves when out and about and a jumper indoors but not too chilly out of the wind.

The east wind has been very cold especially today. The house feels very draughty. I have just put on some thermal socks to wear in bed. If my feet are warm the rest of me joins in.

A couple of weeks early Rocketstop, depends on the year.

Did some gardening and had coffee out there…but with body warmer on and an awareness of icy breeze.

Still wearing sandals with thick thermal socks (🥹), full heating on for two hours, oil filled radiator for after and heated throw for feet.

Cats both curl up sleeping against me, and 15 tog duvet on the bed already.

My cat is definitely feeling the cold and trying to guilt trip me into putting the heating on. I have it on for a couple of hours in the morning so the house is warm when I get up. Whether l put it on in the evening depends on the weather.

I’m sitting in my dressing gown with socks on, plus a crochet blanket and another blanket round my legs and feet.

No heating on yet.

I searched out my microwave hot water bottle today, might have it in bed if it feels chilly.

It's not just you! After such a mild start, the drop feels much sharper. A hot water bottle and a wool layer at bedtime make a big difference, and an electric blanket costs pennies an hour to run compared with heating the whole house. Worth having the hot water bottle handy anyway, as it still works in a power cut.

Grandmabatty

It reached -1° here this morning. The electric blanket has been on and the central

Me too.

Plus, I put away the light cotton summer duvet covers and got out the cosy brushed cotton ones. Hello . blue-and-white stripey; welcome back. (Does anyone else talk to their towels and bedlinen? )

Today I'm wearing a jumper over my tshirt.

South East here. No electric blankets as yet, but rads pop on for an hour early morning and two hours early evening, there’s definitely a chill in the air!

*bitterandjam” I “talk” to many household items, plus the dogs and myself! grin

I haven’t got the heating on yet, it’s been sunny during the day which has warmed the house up, but I’ve had the fire on during the evening. I’m still using the summer duvet, I can pull a throw over it if I’ve woken up cold in the morning, but I’ve only used it once so far. I’m a hot sleeper though, I don’t like lots of covers on because I always wake up too hot in the night and have to throw them off.

I have had no hot water or central heating since Thursday but hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow. Amazingly I have been warm but loos and upstairs are cold.

My bed has a 13.5 tog duvet and a hwb. Last night I placed two covers on top and I still wasn't that warm. Soon it will be a 15 tog duvet.

Normally I rarely need heating am but when minus something I switch it on to protect the pipes. Heating is cheaper than an engineer.
