Good morning from a cooler Wiltshire. We had some rain yesterday in the small hours. I heard it and looked out of the window and could see a very wet road. It was the first measurable rain since June 22nd. It was a very overcast and windy day until 4pm when we had completely cloudless skies and it warmed up considerably. Managed a short walk round Bowood. I’ve noticed every time I go out my face is filthy when I clean it at night. I think it’s because the grass has turned to dust.

Yesterday we picked up our new Kia Sportage Storm. DH is delighted with it. We had to get rid of the VW Passat Sport as it was becoming increasingly hard for us to get in and out of it because the seats are so low.

Today is our 44th wedding anniversary. We are going to stay overnight at the Old Bell at Malmesbury which is allegedly, the oldest hotel in the UK dating back to the 12th century. It’s next door to the Abbey.

RosesandLilac I hope the antibiotics are working their magic. I was very upset on your behalf about the neglect of your garden. Of course, you must rest but honestly! My DH would have been under the patio by now. I have to work quite hard sometimes to galvanise him but I’m a lot more assertive than I once was.

Marizipan how terrible for your friend to lose her daughter like that. Those left behind have to live out their lives with this. Also I loved the AI art incorporating your GS after his nasty experience with the weever fish. The same happened to me when I was 9 or 10 but my parents told me I was making a huge fuss about nothing even though my foot swelled up.

Enjoy your time with your family FGTs. How nice to have everyone together.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from N.Bucks where it is sunny with quite a breeze. We did have a couple if short showers yesterday.
I’m another that is having trouble with the site dropping out or freezing.
TodayI have a fruit cake to bake and odd jobs this morning.
I shall be going to visit my friend who has recently gone into a home. I try to time my visits according to her medication times to catch her at her best.
Wishing everyone a good day with relief for those who are struggling with illness.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 11° C.

I am sorry to hear , that things are proving difficult for you.
I have had a BP machine for years, useful for giving BP and heart rate readings, when I am seeing a doctor.
I am on my fourth machine, Recently, I bought a new one, because on seeing DH's BP reading of 220/98, I thought our machine was faulty. It wasn't!
Mine have always been Omran ones (my surgery uses that make too) and I think the Boots own make may be made by Omran, they look identical.

Yesterday, we had a lovely lunch, but at the end of the meal, I had a severe divericulitis episode. It reminded me of the time I collapsed in Glasgow.
I made it to the loo, just in time. It was an awful experience. Poor DH was so upset for me. I was upset for myself and what my life has become.

Best wishes to all the grandchildren, awaiting results.

I need to pick up a prescription and also medications, which have been lying in the surgery since last week, I couldn't summon the energy to go for them.

Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.

Good morning from a damp Durham. We had a downpour of biblical proportions yesterday about noon and occasional showers since. I managed to get Little Dog out for a dry walk before dark. He’s going home today.
This afternoon I’m hoping to meet my poorly friend - haven’t seen her for weeks because of her lhealth - it’s dreadful when someone so poorly is diagnosed with yet another condition.
I hope those unwell, or struggling to look after their loved ones have an easier day.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Heavy thundery showers forecast for this afternoon, hooray! 🌧🌩

Yesterday was our annual dance outdoor coffee morning; it was lovely to sit in the sun and not be too hot or roasted and I had plenty of sunscreen on. It was also a chance to meet dancers from other areas of town, and spend a morning chatting.
Afterwards I visited a nearby Asda in search of low dose aspirin, but had no joy - I also put one on my Sainsbury's delivery list, but they also have none in. The hunt continues..... Luckily I have enough for the coming month.

No real plans for today except for my Sainsbury's delivery which arrives at lunchtime. I also need to ring a plumber to fix my en-suite loo as it will no longer flush - a neighbour has given me a couple of numbers. I think it needs a new cistern.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from Sheffield
I am up and out this morning. I’ve taken the dog out, repotted a house plant ,done some yoga and now I’m trying to heal my back under an infrared light and it’s still only 8 o’clock !
I have to be organised as I have the two Grandson’s nine and six coming for the day. They have had a busy few days away with mum and dad so I think they will need a quiet one today which suits me. Their daddy will come for tea as the other half of family are still away and my daughter is working. I have a bought quiche and salad, so that’s easy enough as well.
Hopefully they will get on and not fight today . They are a lot better now they are older.
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning everyone from a damp Anglesey. I was woken at about 4am by the rain hammering on the caravan roof so the gardens should have had a good soak.

Today's weather looks rainy so I'm hoping to take the little chap to a new soft play centre in Llangefni. It says booking is needed to I'll be on the phone at 9am.

Hope GCSE results day goes well for all DGC receiving them.

It's our 38th wedding anniversary today. It poured down and I remember my lovely FiL saying it was good luck. On the whole the years have been kind so he must have been right.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. 🌻

Good morning from a very wet 14C northwest coast. Still not enough rain to bring my box hedge back to life I fear…

Quiet day yesterday. Long FaceTime with flying DD in the south. I enjoy her tales of difficult passengers etc.

Lunch today with old friend in his nineties who I will pick up and take to his favourite restaurant just outside the town in what was a private country house. It’s his birthday on Friday so I have painted a card and will pay. He’s a great talker, so no worries on that score.

Happy anniversaries 💐

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment. We have had overnight wand sunshine and showers forecast all day today.

We are pleased with the new back door we had fitted yesterday. The men came to fit it earlier than expected and luckily DH was up and dressed as he got outside to find them measuring the front door ready to replace it😳😂
We also heard that our car is being repaired 🥳which is good news and DH had a good report from the physio so a better day all round.Life has been tricky lately with one thing and another so we are very grateful for such a positive day.

Today DD1 is dropping the children over late morning. They will stay until tomorrow evening. We will go out this afternoon probably to Powis Castle and then DGD will probably work on some crafts and DGS will help grandpa in the garden. He loves gardening and growing things.DH’s grandpa taught him about gardening and now he is teaching DGS😊

Hoping all the DGC get the results they are hoping for and especially thinking of harrigran’s granddaughter.

Happy anniversary to Glammagran and latedecember🍾🥂

Morning all from West Oxfordshire where we’ve had a drizzle of rain.

I’ll try again - this site seems to be freezing quite a lot at the moment!

Yesterday was fun. I had a WI afternoon tea where we raised a glass to our late member who would have been 100 this week. OH went to the monthly U3A lunch.

I must order a new iced cream machine. My current one has lasted since 2014 so has done well. The fabric arrived for my quilt. I had paid for 8 metres but just 1 metre arrived. I have demanded a refund.

We are going to the cinema later to see The End of Oak Street. It is on over lunchtime so we’ll take sandwiches.

Have a good day.

Good morning from soggy Lancashire. It’s been raining for hours now so I hope the ground is getting a proper soaking. My eye is settling down, just a bit gritty feeling. It looks good and no bruising. Although I am always a little apprehensive she is very good and I didn’t feel a thing.

Have a good day everyone 🌹

Good morning, Michael12 and all!

I've been fascinated by Dr. Peter Mark Roget, he of the thesaurus, since forever, so I've ordered his biography online: ROGET: The Man Who Became A Book - A Biography, by Nick Rennison. Amazon hardback £9.05. I had it some years ago, but it was stolen along with some other stuff from a B&B room I was in at the time.

I've been to his grave at St. James's Church, West Malvern, Worcestershire, a couple of times over the years, sharing a north-south grave with his daughter, Kate.

He entered medical school aged just 14 and qualified as a doctor at just 19, when most took about 8 years to qualify! He had a breakdown and had years of being squashed by his VERY domineering, overbearing and demanding mother, Catherine. Even when he was ill, or working seriously long hours, or on a well-earned holiday, she still wouldn't leave him alone!

So hopefully it should be with me in time for my week off work from the 25th August; if not, my boss will take it at the shop until I get back, as I'll be booking a room at a Premier Inn in Worcester, and one of the big main things I'll do is re-visit Peter and Kate's grave, hopefully taking the book with me!

We've had tons of rain again here yesterday, last night, and it still is pouring - absolutely gorgeous as always!

See you all later!

Morning from East Kent coast. Sunny at the moment but cool breeze from the sea. Last night amazing storm out at sea. Massive cloudslit up by the lightning. Reall spectacular.
