Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and cloudy. Bellasnana 40°! That's much too hot for me. GrandMattie your ankle sounds so painful. Bellasnana lovely nails.
Yesterday I had dgs2 for most of the day. My plans for soft play didnt happen as he point blank refused to go, so I had to cancel the booking. He was happy staying at home. However he had bouts of bad behaviour and very emotional behaviour. I think he's more anxious about school than he lets on. So the day wasn't without its challenges.
Today I will meet a friend for breakfast at the garden centre then potter about at home afterwards. Have a good day all.

Good morning from 10 degrees in s somerton, it is going to be a beautiful day

A bit more washing today, the last of the fabric pre-washes, then they are labelled and stashed in my sewing room for the coming year.

My battery ran down too early on my e bike ride yesterday, it was half full by the bottom of a tremendously steep lane up to a windmill, then at the top, suddenly zero was flashing. This is the furthest point from home so I had to switch power off, I needed to conserve what was left for the very last hill before home

My e bike is 14 years old, a German make and is a very well-made bike, even at 26kg it rolls freely so then it was down to leg power, I surprised myself and actually enjoyed my ride home under my own steam, there was a last-ditch effort by the battery and it did not let me down

The battery is charged up again, fully charged but it did not take long and I think it is dying. The first battery died several years ago and I am thinking I should buy another one, while still available. They cost at least £230 but would be an investment for my old age

The day finished with a bit of sewing, it took me ages to get a mitre right on two long strips of frill

The allotment needs me today, I am cycling there and will carry on with some prep, ready to sow green manure seeds

Lovely nails as ever, bellas!

Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 40°C today.

Yesterday I had unexpected company all day as DGS1 did not want to go to the beach again (can’t say I blame him!) so he arrived at 10am and stayed with me until 6pm, even happily accompanying me to my nail appointment where he was an angel and kept himself amused looking at his books and playing with some toys that my nail girl provided. She was impressed because he didn’t ask for a phone to play on! Neither he nor his brother have ever been allowed phones or tablets. DD3 is very strict on that.

I had intended to pop to Lidl but it was so hot and DGS1 didn’t fancy it either so we went home and had a lovely day together before he was picked up to go to the birthday party of another set of twin boys who are friends.

Not sure what I will do today. I feel so tired these days I just go with the flow.

Thinking of Soop today as it would have been her birthday.😞💐

Great to hear from RosesandLilac yesterday. Hope you are home and recovering. It’s always better to be back in one’s own bed.🌹🌹

Take care all.☀️

Good morning all from Morecambe Bay where a pleasant day is forecast ahead of rain tomorrow and more heat next week.
We have a 9 am appointment at the vets. Poor CDog has a sore paw as well as the lump under his eye. He was running about fine until we put a sock on his leg to stop him licking it but that’s rendered him lame! He can’t possibly walk with a sock on so he had to be carried up to bed last night from where he hasn’t moved a muscle!
We are away next week so he needs to make a quick recovery.
DH will cut a clients grass later. He was supposed to do it yesterday but I lost track of time when I met my friend and forgot I needed to be back home to take over with CDog. He can’t be left on his own or we’d have no house left!
Take care everyone 🌸

Good morning from a dry Bristol. Not yet dawn. The birds are quiet, the moon is in its last phase.
The Bristol balloon festival kicked off last night, but sadly we ant see them from here as they tend to go south, or along the Avon valley. So colourful when they are visible!
Apart from the hygienist and my usual regular trim, nothing much happened at chateau Mattie.
I’m moving around less due to my swollen ankle. The light bruising halfway down my foreleg to my toes is starting to fade, but it’s still painful especially first thing, when I hobble about. Pain seems to ease with gentle movement; it’s a fine balance between keeping moving and resting.
Church coffee then nothing today. I’m getting on with quilt assembly and might sit out with it later.
The family is due back today after their fortnight of interrailing round Europe.
Hugs to r&l and home she’s safely home. A wave to the patients in sickbay, especially the MDs.
Carpe diem 🦩🐦‍🔥🦩🦩🦩
