I’ve heard it all now. An online jewellery auction described a piece of gold jewellery as having ‘ nine carrots’. Made me laugh.

kircubbin2000

Lots of posts about the trouble UK is having with its boarders.

Indeed, they aren’t getting any reign 🌧️

I must admit I did chuckle at ‘jaquisi’ Maw !
My guess is she must be a new personal trainer at the gym!

Bellanonna Wed 05-Aug-26 12:06:26

Oh, courgettes!

Bellanonna Wed 05-Aug-26 12:06:02

Hilarious. Haven’t yet worked out “corjets” though 🤔

Dylis Wed 05-Aug-26 12:05:05

I clearly remember writing orgasm instead of organism in my school, Biology exercise book.
When my error was pointed out by a more wordly classmate I had no idea what she was talking about!

Jane43 Wed 05-Aug-26 11:49:15

A student of mine wrote ‘haughty culture’ instead of ‘horticulture’.

Recently saw a chalkboard outside a cafe advertising ‘a variety of sandwitches’

Do they use wet sand to make the witches I wonder? 🤔

JamesandJon33 Wed 05-Aug-26 10:42:02

I’ve posted this before. Corjets on a market stall.

The mind boggles!

Shops putting an apostrophe in the wrong place outside their shop. Fish and chip's.

My old mum when we were walking by a marina once said she would not like to go to sea on a cataract, of course we were looking at a catamaran. Not misspelt but a malapropism. But we did laugh.

TheWeirdoAgain60 Wed 05-Aug-26 10:02:19

I'm killing myself laughing at all your hilarious replies!

When I was 15, we had the road marking operatives outside our school redoing the "School" lines on the roads. Some idiot had spelt it ''skuul''! I've seen 'Skool'' a couple of times over the years too! They'd obviously never been to one!

Some years ago there was a vet saying they can ''opewrate'' on your pet's eyes for ''cateracks''! How in hell did the vets pass their GCSE English?!

My local Nextdoor at times has unintelligible pieces. One I understand is a couple room. Yesterday there was one word, accommodation. Was the author wanting or offering it?

Grandma70s Wed 05-Aug-26 09:41:27

This is an old favourite, but I have actually seen it - ‘Chester draws’.

In a shop at Christmas next to a display of wreaths
Reefs for sale.

ViceVersa Wed 05-Aug-26 09:28:43

I've mentioned this before on here, but I once saw a post on a local residents' group from a woman who was asking if anyone was selling a 'long more'. Took a second before I worked it out...

Grannybags Wed 05-Aug-26 09:02:55

I once saw a sign on a fence saying
Lost cat sorely mist

MawsRosie Wed 05-Aug-26 08:38:04

No names, no pack drill, but somebody not a million miles away wrote recently of a jaquisi at their gym.

nanna8 Wed 05-Aug-26 08:37:43

Could be anything - someone sweet to share your room ? 😀

Maremia Wed 05-Aug-26 08:35:26

Isn't that the chocolate they put on your pillow?

Astitchintime Wed 05-Aug-26 07:09:38

That’s almost as daft as a sign I saw on a restaurant recently. They offered accommodation with ‘on sweet’ facilities in every room 🤔🤔😂😂
