I feel sure your little DGS will be quite recovered in a few weeks. ginny But it's awful when you look at that sweet face. 😢
Good Morning Monday 3rd August 2026
Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight with the moon above but its dry here in Brackley this morning.
Today, I have a Wiltshire Farms Ready meals delivery , so my day will governed by when it arrives .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
I feel sure your little DGS will be quite recovered in a few weeks. ginny But it's awful when you look at that sweet face. 😢
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s a gorgeous sunny morning here. Temperatures will rise to 28°C later.
I’ve a lovely day out ahead of me. Friends (a couple we’ve known 50 years) are picking me up and we are driving over to Hollingsworth Lake in Littleborough. Just under an hour away. They’ve planned that we walk the perimeter of the lake so see you Wednesday (haha!) then have lunch together in the huge gastro pub there.
Last time I went was to meet friends over that way and went with Himself, my mum and stepfather so it must be 10+ years ago. I remember it quite clearly. A lovely place. Lucky me today in so many ways.
Good morning from sunny and an increasingly hot Suffolk. The wildfire at Dunwich Heath is still giving some concern because of the ever changing wind direction but it now has fewer fire engines on site. They have made a firebreak around the whole perimeter of the damaged site which is 12 metres wide so many local farmers and others have been so helpfully involved.
I picked lots more blackberries yesterday and I have promised them to DGD3 when DinL brings her and her 2 siblings for lunch on Thursday. She has always been a fussy eater but told us yesterday she is aiming to extend her ‘palette’! She is a talented artist and we smiled at her message.
Apart from a trip to our nearest town to post a friend’s birthday card we have no plans. The Victorian box in the wall at the top of the lane is hardly ever emptied probably because it will only take letters the size of a Basildon Bond envelope.
Hope you can enjoy some relaxation today R&L as you prepare yourself for tomorrow which I hope will go well.
Good morning Mick and everyone from damp Carlisle. It's been raining! Not very heavily by the looks of it but it will save me watering anything today.
Yesterday was a bit frustrating as my calf muscle is still sore though slowly improving. I got out in the garden and cut back the lavenders, everything seems to be on the point of winding down now. I finished my book and read the papers and that was it.
Today is the usual bed changing and vacuuming day and, if it's not raining, I will try for a gentle stroll in the park.
All the best for tomorrow RosesandLilac, shall be thinking of you.
Wish I could send many of you some of this rain! But have a good day anyway if you can.
Glammagran Thank you. Yes you are right. He is being very brave but his poor little face looks so sore and swollen.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Rain expected.
Exercise class and then someone from a bike charity is collecting 4 bikes which I have decided to donate. One is a rather special antique Hercules of DH and one my ancient Raleigh.
This afternoon my next helper is due, from Australia. She's a mature lady almost as old as me but sounds extremely fit.
I have a chiropractor appointment and some pottery to finish.
Yesterday was quiet but good. I knitted in the garden & almost finished the baby cardigan but have run out of the yarn with 12 rows to go! It's expensive bamboo.
I hope everything goes well tomorrow R&L. You are impressively well prepared.
Your birthday sounds perfect Lulu.
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Good morning from a suny again N. Bucks.
DH is off to golf in a hour or so and I am awaiting the arrival of DGSs2&3. They will be here until mid afternoon
The youngest is still suffering from his bicycle accident on Saturday so we won’t go far.
They have requested to do something crafty. Painting stones to place around the garden and making some bunting for our family gathering next Sunday.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning from Wiltshire.
Today we have the GCs. It going to be very hot later. We are going to the recreation ground in Marlborough and then for lunch at Ask. We saw the family on Saturday. SinL has almost single-handedly built the most incredible bedroom and en-suite shower room to replace the one from the 1970s. It’s a very big space. I’m very envious. The tiling and all the plumbing is done. Next he will do the built in wardrobes and lighting.
I’m so sorry about your GS Ginny. Thank heavens he was wearing a cycling helmet. I hope he feels better very soon. If I recall, he was born in the same month as my DGS2 in April 2021. Redcar my DGD3 will be 8 later this month also.
Very best wishes for your procedure tomorrow RosesandLilac.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from the Black country.
Another day with nothing planned will see where the day takes me, I have a couple of new books so may start one of them.
RosesandLilac my thoughts are with you for tomorrow.
Will now get me a 🍵 and catch up with everybody's happenings.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans 😎.
Good Morning everyone from the sunny central south coast. We are set for a burst of extra heat today - unlucky us. Still only a vague promise of "maybe a few isolated light showers" later this week.
We do not have a hosepipe ban here (Portsmouth Water) but are still being careful not to waste water.
Yesterday, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast meet with DD and SiL (well he will be in December after 29 years together!) before they got the train home. They had enjoyed their party with an old local village friend on Saturday night.
Later, I had a long chat with DS who is finding the restriction of the special boot he has to wear to heal his torn achilles tendon, difficult.. In bed he has a special splint to wear. This whole system may be required for another 8 weeks so it is daunting and will be followed by a prolonged period of recovering strength and mobility. That is all depending on the tendon knitting back together.
Both he and DD want me to consider wearing a fall alarm as I am still quite wobbly and apprehensive about falling when DH is out on his cycle rides. I have promised to investigate. We have no close friends or any relations to call on for help here since DD and family moved away 2 years ago.
Laundry day and investigations with Age UK on the agenda for me.
Kind thoughts to everyone and especially those with struggles or worries of any sort. May today bring some relief and comfort.
Good morning from a sunny and warm S E Essex.
I am off to the gym first thing, then I need to go into the City, considering the amount of major roadworks it will be an and venture and a much longer journey than usual.
This afternoon I shall be in the garden.
Rosesandlilac wishing you well for tomorrow, I hope all goes as well as possible 🌹🪻
Good morning from Sunny Stockport.
Yesterday morning I went to the local park with a friend who has just bought a mobility scooter, she is quite nervous about it and needs practice and reassurance but she was fine.
We picked up takeaway coffees from the little cafe and went back to sit in the walled garden to drink them.
It got very hot so after finishing them we made our way home.
I then had a sandwich and got ready to go to my GD’s new home for a Sunday dinner.
It is a fairly new house and has a kitchen diner across the back of the house, we sat in there on the new, very comfy dining chairs as they have no furniture in the living room, it will be at least another two weeks.
The dinner was excellent as H is an excellent cook, he does most of the cooking and is rather OCD about cleaning and tidying so it was all very organised, I couldn’t have company eat in my kitchen as I am a messy cook.
We ate quite early, 6ish, and I didn’t stay long after the meal as by then I was very tired. I did sleep quite well.
Sincerest thought to R&L for tomorrow, you may be gone to hospital before I post tomorrow.
The same good wishes go to all of you, unwell or in a caring role.
Enjoy your day.
Good morning all and it’s going to be another hot one. 🥵.
Yesterday we had a nice cool breeze and I was able to cut down some of my foxglove ‘fairy forest’, as DGD called it. The wind had bent them but they are strong and some of the stems were very hard to cut. I filled the bin which will be taken away this morning. Still another lot to do.
Today I’m meeting my friend for lunch ,as my treat , as she has given me lifts and come out of her way for me. I will do this for each of my friends who are such a help to me. My way of thanking them and showing appreciation.
I’m trying persuade Dh to have a small type of mobility scooter so that I can get him out and about. He’s having none of it.🙄. There are so many places we could go with the help of our friendly cabbie.
Rosesandlilac we’ll all be thinking if you tomorrow .🙏.
What a lot of baking GB. The family will be delighted.
Take care all 🌺
Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Thank you for all the good wishes yesterday. I had a lovely day the food was good and watching the three AC children together was great, they meet very rarely DD1 living so far up North.
Best wishes for tomorrow R&L
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. A hot day is forecast for us today - 33 degrees - oh joy! I may go for a walk after breakfast, then will probably stay inside for the rest of the day. Plenty to occupy me inside if I can motivate myself. Yesterday I vacuumed throughout, washed bedclothes and towels and got the sheets dry outside. I still tumble dried the towels because I like them to be soft.
DD2 called in on her way home from a busy weekend in Suffolk.
They’re all back to work today.
rosesandlilac I hope your DH follows the instructions you are leaving him! I hope all goes well tomorrow and that you will make a speedy and full recovery.
grandmabatty you had a very productive day’s cooking yesterday! As it’s still quite hot here, just the idea of baking cakes etc makes me feel hot! I don’t bake cakes any more, neither daughter eats many cakes, and although I’d eat them, I really shouldn’t!
llfl I hope you are pleased with your ceramic cat!
Thinking of all who are struggling with life’s challenges and hoping that life gets easier for you today.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Roses we are all with you in spirit tomorrow, my very best wishes xx
Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire. The forecast is 31.
To day our 'baby' is 39. We will pop over the forest to see her this afternoon but this morning DH is off to the gym and I have a hair appointment and need to buy a pepper!!
The decorators is coming later to quote for doing the outside next spring. All contributions gratefully received!!
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning everyone from Lancashire and a belated haapy birthday for yesterday, Lulu. 🎂
Hope all goes well tomorrow, RosesandLilac. I expect time might drag today, but try to relax if you can.
Yesterday morning we went to church and then DD met up with a friend for lunch before they both came back to our's to natter in the conservatory.
It tried and failed to rain yesterday teatime. A good shower would freshen the air up.
Not sure what our plans are for today. DD is meeting a friend in Manchester at teatime and then travelling back home to Birmingham so we have to factor in making sure her bag is packed and in the boot of the car. It's been lovely having her home and I'll miss her but look forward to when we can get together again.
Wishing you all the best day possible. 🌻
Roses, my thoughts will be with you tomorrow x
Morning from a bright S Hants, 30 due later.
Voluntary phone day, I must also arrange a get together with some good friends not seen for a while.
Yesterday was quiet but we sorted out playing airport taxi next week for my daughter and grandchildren.
Have a decent day all.
Good morning from Torbay where it’s going to be sunny all day but no hotter than 23 degrees which is bearable.
Move It or Lose It Class at lunchtime then a rehearsal again tonight. DH, as a member of Toads, has permission to watch tonight’s rehearsal as he will be in France for the run of performances.
Stay cool, if you can, everyone! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩
Good morning from Cornwall where a luscious cool breeze is wafting across my bed. I'll venture out to my swing seat in a moment. I spent yesterday pottering indoors away from the heat then spent two lovely evening hours on my patio sewing a denim and waistcoat with a blue lace trim which I've concocted from three other garments. I'm going to sew it all by hand because I enjoy that and can listen to Borrowbox at the same time.
My nephews have gone home but not before they came and filled my tiny flat. The 11-year-old loved my doll's house with its Lego furniture and made some creations for it. His three-year-old brother played with my basket of knitted fruit and veg. I wish they all lived nearer. They would love to, but finding work for them here would be difficult.
Today I'm packing up books for a charity to collect and will saunter over to Wetherspoons at some point for brunch.
It's forecast to reach 31°C here in Northampton today...
Roses best of luck tomorrow
Good morning everyone from yet another bright, sunny 🌞 and hot Northampton day... Shall go to yoga first thing and then take it easy the rest of the day. Perhaps start reading the translation of the Odyssey I bought last week.
Did very little yesterday; sat in the garden for a couple of hours in the afternoon with the cats who were equally lazy, just lying in the shade of the bushes.
I may or may not clean the bathrooms when I get back from yoga.....
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Roses, all the very best for tomorrow
