Good Morning everyone from another sunny and warm (set to be hot) day.

I have an empty today as DH is out with his cycling club but, sensibly for once, they have curtailed the planned ride due to the heat so I shall be less concerned about him returning zonked. They are all old boys (and two ladies) of a certain age who still think they are in their prime!

Back at the ranch, I plan to give myself a pedicure, do the Tesco delivery order for Friday and book a hair cut. I also need to contact my niece to see how the clearance of my big brother's sheltered flat has gone. She was on a tight timetable for handing back the keys.

Good news about your cancer Mick but not so much about the prostate. You are on the same track as my DH was, who is further along it, in front of you. He had a TURPS operation on his prostate after his stoma reversal op. and has been back to normal function on both counts. Ashcombe's DH was very informative about the TURPS op and helped us a lot. (Thanks *Oldds!).

Thinking of all our GNs with worries, struggles or loneliness to cope with and hoping today is a better day with some relief and comfort.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

We had a strange day at the hospital yesterday with DH. We were there to have an ultrasound of a new growth on his liver so they could zap it on Friday. The problem was they couldn’t find it.
Eventually they rushed through a CT scan and as it hasn’t changed since April they are going to leave it and do another scan in 3 months.

I am still suffering with sciatica but hoping the results of my MRI last Sunday will show what is going on.

Good morning from W Kent where we are at expecting a very hot day. DGS2, girlfriend and DGS4 have to make their way home today. Long train journey north. DD1 and her DH will stay a bit longer. Lots of washing needs doing, we shall see. I guess DH and I have another day indoors.
Big family get together last night so I think everyone is happy

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny and I’ve just put my laundry on the maiden on the balcony. I love the smell of clean sheets and pillow cases out to dry. We are forecast 25°C today. Lovely.

I’m bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning (can’t you tell?) think it’s the effect of a good long walk yesterday two hours in total, my wonderfully relaxing full body massage and a great night’s sleep (no wine).

I’m off to yoga mid morning at the library. Not been for weeks owing to my trip out to Málaga then minding L’il Miss last week. I’ll be catching up on those chakras! 😁

Then it’s home for shower and hair wash, putting on my new dress from Roman and some strappy sandals with a heel (Himself urged me to buy them yonks ago and I rediscovered them when I had a sort out in the spring and every time I see them I think of him) and out for lunch. My cousin and his partner are driving over from Wilmslow to pick me up. He messaged me “Where would you like to go?” and I replied “Anywhere but Urmston!”. I’m so looking forward to it. 😊

It’s 19° and forecast to reach 33° I love the summer, but we do need some rain, maybe it could rain overnight 🤷‍♀️

The 11 yr old has to go into his new school this morning, the uniform suppliers have a pop up shop. He wants me to go along with them so I can see his uniform (it’s a new design and colour)

I shall gaze into the freezer to find something for DH to throw on the BBQ for dinner.

Good morning, bright and cool here in south Glos unlike me!
Another bl..dy power cut yesterday from 11am to 6 this morning. It took the SSE engineers 6 hours to even arrive and no updates other than one stating it would be midnight.
I had a really bad night, too hot to sleep, very breathless and, obviously, no fans on.
I think I have had 90 minutes sleep.
I haven’t checked the freezer yet, that’s the second time in 3 days.
Not a happy bunny, sorry!

Sorry for the whingeing. My sister came yesterday morning, she’s very chatty and busy, it was nice catching up with her.
Nothing much happening today thankfully. I’ll put the bags for the charity collection out shortly then have a shower- I had a cold one before bed last night ….

Good morning from Malta where it’s very cloudy with a possibility of showers ( not a drop of rain yesterday despite it being forecast). The high is 36°C. My windows are closed to keep the heat out as it’s already 27°C.

I tried to post earlier but it refused to ‘send’. So annoying.

No plans this morning but have the boys this afternoon so will look forward to that.

Thanks for the advice yesterday FGT. I have done as you suggested and made appointments for August with the hairdresser near me after which I will return to my usual one.

Glad to hear you got the all-clear regarding the cancer Mick but sorry you’ve got prostate trouble. At least they are keeping an eye on you though.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. An even hotter day than yesterday is forecast.

I was in bed by 8.30 pm last night. I caught OH’s cold and although I kept going through the day felt dreadful by the evening. I managed to make a chocolate cake, do some admin and cut out the remaining pieces I need for my patchwork project. Then I was zonked.

I am supposed to be picking up my ceramic cat today. It’s over an hour away and I still feel a bit grim. I may delay it a few days.

Good morning from a clear Bristol.
Goodness, I had a good night, unaided by any wine/pill! I must have been more tired than I thought.💭
Yesterday was technically empty, so I topped up my marmalade stocks, did some sewing.
The big thing was a blizzard of messages on the residents’ WhatsApp group regarding the painting and repairs. The painters have been doing a dreadful job and I have twice reported them Teflon who, for once, didn’t fob me off with platitudes.
Another resident complained that her fogged window which was “regaled”, had been told that someone would call to measure (for the umpteenth time) to replace it. They never came - again.
Finally, after coming occasionally, the painters seem to have taken all their equipment. Given up? Apparently not. Coming back in 3 weeks. Really? We shall see.
Teflon is coming this afternoon for our scheduled monthly meeting to “discuss” our repairs and complaints. Poor man, I feel sorry for him now, after being exasperated by him.
FAB first this morning. I suspect we shall be busy after missing a week - besides, the punters will want to see what all the fuss was about. The chandeliers look lovely, and heaters will have been installed in the north and south aisles.

A 3 o clock wake up again. I felt really queasy for some reason. Must be something I ate that has disagreed with me
I’m off to see Odyssey this evening with my son in law. We are movie pals. We like the same sort of films.
I hope I feel well enough for the popcorn.
Working today but I shall go for an early walk. Hopefully perk me up a bit.

Good morning from s somerset, all windows are open to try and reduce house temperature a bit. It is going to be another hot day

Loads of washing done yesterday, it was drying so very quickly and I have been changing clothes so much. One more wash is on just now, some beautiful bargain price red linen. I fancy making a pinafore dress from that. It is yarn woven and not printed, a deadstock remnant

So back to T shirts and my rookie mistake, I took my measurements yesterday and cannot believe how much my proportions have changed. I suppose it was bound to happen so back to the drawing board and I chucked the other pattern and toiles and have re-printed in the full bust size not the regular size. Much better proportions for my new figure and there is a dart. Its about me accepting changes for old age I suppose. The t shirt reveals all so I need the pattern change

I do need to get to the allotment first thing, followed by another trip to the tip. Yesterday I dismantled 2 two tiered metal etageres. They cannot be revamped any longer. It seems that de-cluttering continues because I will not be replacing them

My aim today is to clean my en suite and my bedroom, followed by making a t shirt in a nicer fabric, I know it is a toile but this one will fit me well. I did the stairs and landing last night so am managing to keep on top of house cleaning, without too much effort

There is a recipe I want to make today, just basic Italian food from my own seasonal produce, enough to keep in the fridge and to freeze too

Good morning from a very still, cool Cornwall where I'm about to head out to my patio swing seat with a coffee. My friend and I met at 9am yesterday. At 1o'clock her husband rang and asked if he should make her lunch as well as his. We'd completely lost track of time, chatting under the palm trees. A young dunnock kept us company.

On the way home I came across some workmen with a pile of tanalised timber offcuts and they let me rummage through them. I grabbed one short piece which will serve as a perfect base for the broken china horse my nephew thinks/hopes I can mend.

Today I may take a bus to a different coast, depending on how the temperature is.
