Good Moring Everyone,
Its light and dry with a grey looking sky over Brackley , still no sign of rain its been 4 to 6 weeks without any and the ground is parched .
Usual trip into Bicester to do a shop and chat to those i know , and a visit to local chippy for Fish & Chips at lunchtime , before I settle down to watch the Tour De France .
Health OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Does Milo wear a bell on his collar LLFL?
And how are your husband’s bees doing? Is Camilla settled in?

A very late Good morning Micheal and all GN's on a breezy and slightly cooler morning in North Yorkshire.

I had a bad night and awake about 3.30am with my back giving me such a lot of pain. Difficult to get back to sleep, and struggling a lot this morning. Extremely frustrating , as the weather would allow me to get out now it is cooler , but I have taken so long to get up. Hence I have been reading all your posts and plans, but done nothing but getting showered and dressed so far.

Yesterday another rubbish day with my back, and so it was trying to mix it, getting up for a while and then lying flat to ease things. With a struggle , managed to get the bedding washed , but just stuck it out on various clothes horses on my lawn, couldnt manage to go down to the washing lines. Not sure if there is some rule about only using the proper washing line, but it was do what I could . That and getting washing up done, was about the best I could manage and read quite a lot.

My cleaners were rather late coming, which didnt matter a great deal about the time, but I was in a slight panic, in case they were not coming, as hadnt remade the bed or done much. However they duly arrived and soon had the bed sorted and everywhere hoovered and cleaned . They were also very good about checking in the cupboard and reaching to the back for things like the new salad cream. When they first started coming to me, I used to feel they were a luxury , and I could do the things myself. Now they are definitely a necessity, but their once a week visit lets me keep going here, in a reasonably tidy enough way.

When I am like this I find it difficult mentally to choose between pushing myself into doing something, and accepting that this is how it is ,and not letting myself get uptight and frustrated about what I am Not doing! Feeling like that doesnt actually improve matters ,I know. However, while I acknowledge that I am now 81, my brain still seems to think I am about 50 and should still be able to do what I did 30 years ago!

Well I enjoy reading the posts and remembering visiting many of the places you write about, and your adventures. I read all your doings Marydoll , and have both sympathy and also memories of similar happening with my husband at times. Glad you had good results Dragonfly. So many of you managing to do great cooking and sewing in this weather. I admire your industry and ability.

Hope that you all have a good day, time to creak off and walk about a bit.

Grammaretto I don`t wear many of the clothes, I end up giving many away, all the toiles for sure. They are all part of a selection process and eventually I do cut into my good fabrics eg Belgian linen. I have to be sure that the garments fit and are comfy as well as looking good before I embark on using my precious best fabrics

I also look on it as a nice way to donate to a worthwhile charity

Good morning everyone from the west midlands. I can't believe that it's nearly 11 o'clock & I have done absolutly nothing really!
DH has cleared-orf shopping as he likes it, I don't! It gets him out from under my feet & he gets the chance to talk to nice ladies for a change!
Best wishes to all & wishing everyone the best day possible. 🌞

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire where it is a much more comfortable 21°C.

MrB and I have been for a walk to the top of the Albert Edward dock this morning. Preston has two Dock basins and we usually walk around the lower one, it’s smaller and has the best birdwatching.

Wishing everyone a pleasant Friday 🌹

Blossoming, your mention of Preston Dock brought back so many memories for me.
As a child we lived on a council estate where you could then walk across a couple of fields to the river just on the approach to the docks.
At that time 70 odd years ago the banana boats were regular visitors, it was such fun to wave to the sailors as they passed.
They seemed so exotic having come so far to bring a fruit that was still a treat.
Thank you for the trip down memory lane.x

Hello FGT. No, Milo doesn’t wear a collar. When he was chipped (?) as a kitten we were able to link it to their cat door. We have tried collars in the past but they lose them! I am afraid that birds must learn not build nests in my garden, next door have cats too,

OH’s bees aren’t doing well. Camilla isn’t thriving and another hive has died. Our granddaughter is coming to stay but when she goes home on Tuesday, OH will try and sort the bees out.
