In this heat. I’m wearing loose cotton dress

Lesley60 Fri 26-Jun-26 14:34:46

Linen trousers and T shirt

Naughtyneine Fri 26-Jun-26 14:36:08

As little as I can get away with....I have broken ribs just now so can't wear a proper bra so I've one of those they advertise all over FB..no wires and just pull it on.....Dinner last night was prepared wearing that and a thong!!!!!!!DH thoroughly approved😂. Going out is in the thinnest natural material dress possible...today it's pale green...with yellow Birkenstock style (ie Deichman) shoes and very pretty yellow glass earrings.

A cotton t-shirt and a disreputable old skirt, as I am painting window-frames on the outside of the house,

I add a pair of sandals when working at the back of the house, where I do not any longer bother weeding.

And nothing at all underneath the clothes described above.

Oh, and my wedding ring and my glasses.

Went shopping by bike at nine this morning wearing thin cotton jeans, cotton underpants and bra and a short sleeved cotton shirt, the warmest item was my bike helmet - why cannot they make ones for summer wear?

Loose cotton top, loose cotton trousers.
The only problem is I shall need to do some ironing as I have run out of cotton items, unless I just wear them creased.

I've started to wash them then hang them up very wet so there are less creases. They dry very quickly in the heat.

Sadgrandma

I dug out my shorts, not worn for some years. Decided that I don’t care what my legs look like anymore

I’m the same Sadgrandma. I’ve got my shorts on and don’t care what anyone thinks. It doesn’t seem to bother other people what they wear, so I’m not going to bother either. It’s only in recent years I’ve felt like this, but wearing shorts feels so much cooler for me than my usual trousers.

A pale blue cotton sundress, maxi, with my flip flops. No bra. Not planning to go out, but if I did, I'd wear a bra. Don't want to frighten the horses.

Labradora Fri 26-Jun-26 15:17:42

Cotton shorts from M &S and a white cotton blouse. Light golden sandals on the trotters.

Far too hot to iron!!

It is but I still do it! I just don't feel right putting creased clothing on even though I know it will crease with wear, because that's a different type of creasing 😂

Say it quietly but I might not iron the bedlinen this time 😉

Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one!I can't bear fully synthetic clothing so nearly everything needs ironing.
OH doesn't think ANYTHING does (including his clothes so I never iron those).
I do always buy duvet covers with some sort of pattern on so I can sometimes get away with not ironing that.
I HAVEN'T IRONED WHAT I'M WEARING TODAY!!!...
That's because it's a T shirt I only wear for decorating, which is what we're doing in the bathroom presently.
It's so hot in there that elf and safety's gone out of the window and I am wearing just that and knickers with bare feet.

Sleeveless jumpsuit, to stop me sticking to my leather sofa

JamesandJon33 Fri 26-Jun-26 15:35:17

It’s a it grey and chilly now…so linen trousers, a T shirt and a cardy.

crazyH Fri 26-Jun-26 15:39:25

Today, a loose, short-sleeved dress

MayBee70 Fri 26-Jun-26 15:51:34

Is it just me but although I'm just wearing a short cotton nightie I'm like a puddle.I can't imagine what I would do if I was still working and had to wear work clothes.

Pittcity Fri 26-Jun-26 16:01:42

It seems that everyone on this thread is wearing cotton or linen.
Why then do clothes manufacturers insist on using manmade fibres? Nothing that I fancy buying is 100% cotton!

Coppernob Fri 26-Jun-26 16:21:03

As little as possible

Bazza Fri 26-Jun-26 16:27:57

It’s all about ££££ Pittcity sadly. I never buy synthetic summer wear. Cotton doesn’t have to be expensive if you have the time or inclination to browse the internet if that is your thing. Cotton cheesecloth is cheap ish and doesn’t need ironing, well, not in my book.

Babsbada Fri 26-Jun-26 16:47:03

Here's a tip.
Do as Marylin Monroe is reputed to have done and put your underwear in the freezer.
You're welcome!

sunglow12 Fri 26-Jun-26 16:55:53

Ha ha - I felt had to put bra on just for 2 hours of Ukelele playing only ! Who cares if we have one on in this heat ! Look forward to meet the group soon !

Juicylucy Fri 26-Jun-26 17:00:44

Not a lot…. As minimal as I possibly can.

BoggledMind Fri 26-Jun-26 17:07:41

I'm wearing swim shorts as I am only lounging around the house.

Estrellita Fri 26-Jun-26 17:20:34

I never iron the bedlinen.

MayBee70 Fri 26-Jun-26 17:35:48

Linen draws moisture away from you, doesn't it [which is why people always wore it as an undergarment] but it makes me itch.

Thisismyname1953 Fri 26-Jun-26 19:21:36

I’ve had on a cotton sleeveless dress from Finery London . @pittcity , lots of places do summer clothes in cotton , linen and viscose now which are all natural materials.
As I said Finery London do mostly natural materials and so do Cotton Traders and Lands End , who can be pricey but often have a sale on .

Dreadwitch Fri 26-Jun-26 19:53:12

Lol right now.. Nothing.

Allsorts Fri 26-Jun-26 20:03:06

Not a stitch!

Twopence Fri 26-Jun-26 20:55:08

Kaftan, knickers and that's it!
