I’m enjoying the warmer weather , up to a point , hoping that it won’t be too hot in Edinburgh for the next few days
The Grown Up children have a full itinerary for me (and my disabled parking card )
Thinking of Marydoll and her OH , and missing posters
💐🙏🏼

Early hair appointment for ct and colour this morning. Bill kindly drove me there and collected me.
Gaga, I’m pleased my dd took me to urgent cars after my fall. At least I know nothing is broken and time will sort the aches and pains.
Congratulations to the dgds, they do you proud.
Too hot for me here in Co Durham, I don’t know how you poor ladies in the south cope.
Dgd left at 6.15 on her school trip to London. First stop Harry Potter World. They’ve a packed itinerary so I hope all goes well for them.
Thinking of Md and all our missing posters.

I totally agree, we really enjoyed watching it!

It did Beechnut! You’re very astute 😊
Then I just felt happy it happened …

Good morning from Sheffield
I’m a bit late posting today.
Well I could not get the air-conditioning right last night. I woke up absolutely freezing and then when I turned it off I was absolutely boiling. I don’t think there’s any easy answer to sleep in this hot weather, we’re not used to it that’s the problem.
DD is taking DH out for breakfast this morning for Father’s Day so I am working.
I’m hoping to do a couple of jobs in the garden, but I will have to see how hot it is later.
Take care everyoneflowers

Good morning from sunny Wiltshire.

Yesterday it was pitch black by 6:15pm and all the garden solar lights came on. Plenty of rain but I wouldn’t have called it a severe thunderstorm though it was in the locality elsewhere. Luckily DH left just then to take the kids home before the heavens opened. Sadly, GD3’s school trip to Chedworth Roman villa today has been postponed due to the heat. She is loving the Romans they are studying at school, especially the gory bits.

DD2 is very tired but they are so busy at work so she felt she had to, but she works from home. Thank you for your thoughts from Sunday. The feeling returned to her one side so it looks like it was a hemilegic migraine. She still needs an MRI though.

Congratulations Gagagran on your DGD’s first in Maths. I’m so sorry it is taking so long for you to heal after your dramatic fall. Well done to Sar’s DGD for passing her driving test.

Keep as cool as possible and no rushing about everyone.

Beechnut Tue 23-Jun-26 09:52:36

Did it shock (and please) you to hear your laughter fgt?

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton again. I see another lazy day ahead as it is too hot to do much of anything. I just have a load of washing to hang out, and then possibly clean the bathrooms. That side of the house is cool until late afternoon

Yesterday I mainly sat indoors doing lots of reading. I did stir myself late afternoon and made a large batch of macaroni cheese - I now have three portions for the freezer. Planning on fish and new potatoes for dinner tonight.

I am putting off contacting the plumber to fix the en-suite loo until it cools down a bit - luckily I have two others (family bathroom and downstairs cloakroom) to choose from!

My hairdresser contacted me yesterday to change my next appointment from mid-day tomorrow to 8.30 Thursday morning which will be much more comfortable thank goodness.

Well done to the DGDs on excellent exam results and driving test success!

Today is my last day of eye drops - hooray!

Take care everyone and have a pleasant Tuesday.

I’m going to watch an episode of Clarkson’s Farm now before I shower and get ready to go out. I’ve got this 28 day free trial with Prime Video. There are 40 episodes in total so I need to crack on ….

No word from Marydoll.
Hope things are okay there.

Also thinking of Blossoming and Pantsglas today 👋

GrannySomerset Tue 23-Jun-26 08:53:22

Another rather sticky night leading on to a day when I shall do very little and do it slowly. First load of washing is in the machine and more to follow. Waiting for the arrival of Wonderful Cleaner to help turn the mattresses on spare beds and then she will only do the essentials because it is just too hot for much effort. I can see this will be a long week.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 23-Jun-26 08:39:43

Oops - Gaga of course! 😮

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 23-Jun-26 08:39:07

Congratulations to your granddaughters Sar53 and Georgesgran well done girls!

dragonfly46 Tue 23-Jun-26 08:38:49

Good morning just got back from early dog walk. He was quite reluctant to go!

Nothing else planned today except keeping all of us cool.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grammaretto Tue 23-Jun-26 08:37:19

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 18° rising to 26° max later.
Just nice.

But another painful night with my back and sciatica. I have an appointment with the chiropractor later on.
Last Gaelic class for the term this evening.

I came home from a house viewing to find a stray cat had died in my garden. I called a vet who suggested I should take it there, which I did. Poor wee thing.

Very well done to Gagagran's DGD !
Also to Sar53 DGD who'll be able to take you out for drives.😊

Keep cool and hydrated everyone.

harrigran Tue 23-Jun-26 08:10:18

Good morning from an overcast NE where it is a comfortable temperature. Forecast is for 26° this afternoon, that is tropical for this area 😄
Lazy day yesterday, went into the garden several times but it wasn't really warm enough to sit, so just pottered.
Around early evening we had a few spots of rain on the window but not enough to wet the ground.
Congratulations to your GD Sar and to yours Gagagran a first in Maths is a great achievement.
Take care and have a good day.

karmalady Tue 23-Jun-26 08:04:42

Wondefrul news Gaga

A first in maths, she will have firms queueing up to employ her. She really did do well

EkwaNimitee Tue 23-Jun-26 07:59:20

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle where it is currently 23°C but will get hotter.
I've been in Surrey for a week, enjoyably so with family but was relieved to get away yesterday as Sunday was insufferable with the heat. Yesterday was the same but fortunately the trains are air-conditioned. I still had to walk between St Pancras and Euston but very, very slowly, dragging my heavy suitcase.
For once, I was travelling cattle class and regretted it. The train was stuffed when I thought it wouldn't be on a Monday. It was worse when we reached Lancashire as more got on than off so folks had to sit in the connecting bits. No relief till we got beyond Oxenholme where the train magically emptied.
Today depends partly on the weather, I shan't be exerting myself if it's really hot. I have laundry to do, other than that I shall catch up with admin. But first comes a trip into town to collect a prescription and maybe get a load of salad stuff from M&S.

A first in Maths is a wonderful achievement, Gagagran!
Congratulations to your granddaughter and to Sar 's.

Have a good day everyone!

WhiteSwan63 Tue 23-Jun-26 07:40:20

Good morning from the east coast.

My Dr appointment for blood results went well as everything is fine I just need to lose some weight. It’s only one and a half stone so I’ll start slimming world on the first Monday in July. She said she could see I take care of myself but how difficult it is at my age with hormones etc to lose weight. Everything seems to be blamed on age.

Today we are visiting mum and uncle. He’s bed nursed now until a hoist is delivered. We will have fish and chips at the beach in the cooler air. On the way home we need to do our big food shop in the town. I might get to see the england match tonight but I’m usually in bed by ten.
Well I must go and get the porridge on for breakfast.

So lovely to hear about achievement and pride in DGC.

Wishing a good day to everyone hopefully you can all keep cool. 😎 🌼

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 23-Jun-26 07:40:18

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where our forecast (like most in the UK) is 31°C. I reminded my stepfather to keep well hydrated and to drink water regularly even if not thirsty. He cut his back grass yesterday morning! “Before it got too hot” he assured me when I rang him 😱

I’m off to Prestwich near Bury today, by bus then tram and a 5 minute walk. Meeting two very dear friends for the afternoon/early evening. We used to work together at the hospital. We haven’t met since Himself was diagnosed. I know I shall cry but then we will hug and laugh together, this much I know.

Liberty Tue 23-Jun-26 07:38:59

Good morning from a fresh feeling sunny Suffolk with a slight breeze. Yesterday was a steady 21 degrees as we benefit from being in the coastal strip of East Anglia which should remain on amber alert all week.

Amazing to read of thunderstorms and heavy rain in Essex!

I’m sharing dog sitting duties for a friend in the village who is going to London for the day for her brother’s funeral. Her dog is an elderly Labrador who is happiest in her own home so 2 of us are popping in during the day to look after her.

I’m meeting another friend for a long overdue coffee and catch up in an airy high ceiled cafe. Our planned beach walk has been abandoned…planned before this hot weather so I imagine, although our bodies won’t be tired our voices will be.

About to water the plant pots so hope all have a restful day and enjoy the brightness if not the heat.

Georgesgran Tue 23-Jun-26 07:36:07

Good Morning from Durham. Bright and a slight breeze here, temperature’s forecast up to 29.
BF is 73 today. We met at work 55 years ago, both starting the new job on the same day. I’ll see her on Thursday.
It’s DGS1’s Sports Day at 2pm - as yet, still going ahead. I have some money for him to enjoy a few rides at The Hoppings, currently in Newcastle. It’s the biggest travelling fair in Europe - they must be making a fortune in this weather. Afterwards, I’ll call and see DGS2 - I expect a pile of his laundry’s there for me to bring home. I don’t mind doing it.

I hope you’re wrong RosesandL and that your phone consultation is actually beneficial.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. I think the thunderstorm started at about 4.00 here, but I may have slept through some of it if it got to us earlier! It’s been rumbling on since then with torrential rain at times. Yesterday was warm and sunny with a lovely cooling easterly breeze so quite bearable.
It will be hotter today when the clouds clear.
I have dentist this morning for a check up, fingers crossed all is well.
Congratulations to your DGD3 gagagran, a brilliant result for her.

sar well done e to your DGD on passing her driving test first time.

grannygravy my 11 year old DGD has her two induction days at senior school on Thursday and Friday this week. One of her best friends will be in the same class with her and no doubt there will be others that she knows in that class too.

Stay cool in the heat everyone, and have the best day possible.

Thinking in particular of those who are unwell and for whom the heat will be most unwelcome!

TheWeirdoAgain60 Tue 23-Jun-26 07:34:56

Good morning, Michael12 and all!

It's 7:11 am here in wonderful Whitby. Starting work at 8.

Couldn't sleep properly last night because of the mugginess/humidity; at about 2 am, myself/hair, bed, duvet, and pillow were swimming in sweat. I couldn't be bothered to change everything at that time with the menopause the way it is, so just lay in it; will change everything when I get home from work today, and spray newer stuff and the bed with tons of Febreze!

I had a hilarious accident last night about nine! Sitting in my home office at the computer watching Grace, with John Simm and Richie Campbell; I love those ITV drama series.

I was scoffing a hot bowl of Ambrosia Cream Rice with a chopped-up banana added in and guzzling a glass of Delaney's Country Cream. I was so engrossed in what the characters were doing and saying that as I took a mouthful of drink, I hiccupped twice - the booze splattered all over my face, some went in my left eye, some down my throat, causing a coughing fit, and also up my nose! I quickly paused the drama and wiped myself clean! Luckily, none of it went over the computer keyboard!

I did my bit for nature yesterday at work; there was a wasp at the open windows, panicking because he was stuck and couldn't get out, so I grabbed a bowl and a sheet of paper, talked to him, saying I won't hurt him, and trapped him under the bowl, then let him go outside, where he flew off looking exhausted. I don't know how long he's been there, but I hope he survived.

Have a good one, all of you!
