Good morning Michael and all GNs from an already very warm South Yorkshire. Yesterday was warm but cloudy. I had a walk round the top of the valley - lots of bird song, wild flowers and butterflies. I came home and fell asleep in a chair! In the evening, DD phoned from the last of their Greek island destinations before they come home on Thursday.

I don’t think I will go far today and certainly not in the car. I’ll cut the grass before it gets too warm and that will be it.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk and I’m about to go and water the pots in the back yard.

Yesterday we couldn’t believe how busy the carpark and cafe at Dunwich beach was at 10.30. We are frequent visitors and have got to know one of the serving ladies. She said people had been queuing since they opened at 9.30am. Excellent cheerful service as ever and bacon and sausage baps enjoyed by DH,DS and his family.

Like others we will take this week at a slow pace, only doing any essential trips from home and keeping out of the sun in cool spots in the house and shade under trees in the garden in the cooler parts of the day.

Hope all have a good day.

Good morning from sunny Wiltshire.i had the tower fan on all night and is reasonably cool in the bedroom atm.

Well yesterday’s visit to see DD2 and family did not go to plan.
When we pulled up outside their house after lunch there was an ambulance outside. DD2 had a hemilegic migraine but it was so severe she had lost all feeling down one side of her body. They waited 5 hours to be seen in A&E and then she was sent home but needs an MRI scan apparently to rule out a TIA which she wasn’t able to have yesterday. The other GPs were there so we managed to keep the kids entertained. We then took them back to ours to give them pizza intended for today. They were not on their best behaviour. They were picked up at 7:30 and then we cooked our own dinner. I will worry of course. School pickup and dinner here later.

Take care this week everyone with the buildup of heat.

Good morning all from a warm North Leicestershire where we have a slight breeze.

We had a good day yesterday with a visit from DS2. and doing little else.

Today I have a hair appointment and DH is going to the gym.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from the Essex coast.
It's already very warm and muggy.
I had a lovely birthday yesterday, thank you for all your birthday wishes.
I won't be doing much over the next few days in the heat, just what is necessary indoors.
Have a great week everyone, stay safe xxx

Good morning, the sky is blue it’s 17° with a predicted high of 25° another glorious day.

Off to the gym this morning, then I shall be in the garden with my kindle. Pick up the The Imp from school for his weekly sleepover.

Not a lot planned for this week, other than enjoying summertime 🌞

Good morning from Sheffield

Those fabrics are fabulous GrandMattie, I especially like the orange. They will make a lovely pair of trousers

I shall go to my prayer group this morning. I haven’t been for a while.
Then working this afternoon. I am very fortunate that I have air conditioning in the shop and also in our bedroom. I will have to stay in one or the other all week

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning everyone from a currently overcast Lancashire but it feels warm and muggy.

Yesterday's visit from the little chap's parents for Father's Day went ok. His mum is a picky eater so I did a buffet lunch to try to avoid any awkward moments.

Our DD phoned DH later. She visited us at the caravan a couple of weeks ago.

DH is in the office today and we don't have any plans. I finished knitting a scarf for our niece's 40th birthday yesterday so we may have a wander to the Post Office.

Take care, everyone, especially if you have hot temperatures. 🌻

Good morning from s somerset

My fan was on all through the night, on setting 1 and almost noiseless, it did keep me cool enough to sleep. I have 2 litres of water ready in the fridge and I will soon raise the shade umbrellas. It is all about being slothful this week

I finished both Amara tops yesterday, they look very nice and Dds will be pleased. I will likely make another next week for Ddil

Today will be all about surviving in a healthy state. Its like climbing a mountain, up to the peak of 40 on thursday. Met O are still not definite but it certainly looks as though it will be 40

Good morning from Bristol where it’s already 20C. Were promised another 10C ! Phew, what a scorcher…
After church, I decided to cut out trousers from the orange African fabric. I shall glow like a beacon with the brightness.🔅. Photo shows the fabrics.
The other photo is of my finished quilt. I’ll give it to my FAB friend, Whose birthday is about now.
My neighbour has decided to go to Tesco at 8 instead of 10 because of the heat, abig, big effort for her. I’m delighted. I’ll have the rest of the day free to sew my trousers.
I must go to the charity shop to see if I can get a cheap shirt pattern to make SiL a shirt out of one of these fabrics, for his 50th at the end of next month. (Otherwise, karma, can you suggest an inexpensive pdf pattern, please?)
May to survive this heat, keep cool and enjoy the sunshine.

Good morning, just back from walking tiddler and it’s already 19° here on the hillside in south Glos.
I slept very badly, so I’m glad I don’t have anything much to do today. I’m probably subconsciously worrying about the Gastroenterologist call tomorrow morning, knowing that it’s highly likely that a colonoscopy will be coming up sometime 😬 I’ve had them before and unfortunately found them very uncomfortable and painful despite sedation. Oh what fun!
Yesterday the washing dried well, all put away. I cooked a chicken and there’s plenty of salads in the fridge.
I do need to sort out the freezer today.
I’m smiling as I write this because there are baby sparrows frantically being fed by their parents outside my bedroom window. They’re sitting lined up on top of the open window so I’m probably only 6’ away from them.
Wishing you a peaceful day 🌹

Good morning from a very warm hotel room in Crewe.

We’ve had a really super weekend although our journey here was rather spoilt by trains failing to run from Torquay so our journey took longer than usual.

On Friday we met up with my DD2 and family, her in laws and her father and his wife for a delicious Italian meal at a restaurant near our hotel. The latter had been used for asylum seekers but has undergone a refurbishment and we’ve been well looked after here. It’s very near the station and here’s a photo of it taken by DH from the station platform where he was train spotting on Saturday morning.

In the evening we were well entertained by DGD’s dance school as we enjoyed an excellent performance from children from aged three upwards. My DGD shone as ever - the opinion of other audience members as well as proud grandparents!!

Yesterday we had a day out to Bangor, N. Wales by train and we had to laugh when a cheeky herring gull stole DH’s baguette before he’d started eating it! Later we spent the evening with my family and today we’ll head back to Torquay.

Hope all our well and this week is kind to you.

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and forecast to be 37°C today.

Had a quiet day yesterday, I’ve had to learn to enjoy my own company since losing DH. Watched the tennis, I didn’t mind who won which makes it a lot less stressful to watch!😄

I shall walk up to the village this morning for a couple of things I need, otherwise no plans to speak of.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️
