Good morning from coastal West Sussex. It’s cloudy but bright here and less breezy than recently. I was very warm in bed last night and the room felt airless despite a window being open. I got up (probably about the time that Mick and all the other early risers are posting!) and opened both windows wide and a wonderful fresh air cooled me down. I went back to bed and fell into a deep sleep 😊.
I was very tired by the time I went to bed after watching the football. I had spent the afternoon and evening at DD1’s doing ‘heavy weeding’ and, being a little obsessive once I get going, spent nearly five hours digging up winter jasmine, which DD had cut back as it was taking over, and a very deep rooted ‘weed’ vying with the jasmine and a few other things for dominance. The soil is heavy clay and is baked by the recent dry spell so only just workable. It needs a large dose of topsoil and compost.
GrandmaC47, what a horrible experience you had with your fall. I did the same thing running for a bus years ago when I was working. It’s awful when bus drivers don’t seem to care whether they pick up passengers or not. I hope rest and TLC from your family will speed your recovery.

I must go and join DH at the allotment - I have made the coffee and will take it in a flask. I don’t know that I will do much work there - I need to let my aching body recover from yesterday 😂
