My nail bent back

And I'm not sure what to do with it.
I've always bitten my nails until around seven or so years ago, when i stopped, and they've grown ridiculously long and strong since.

Yesterday, I scratched my back, and my thumbnail folded right back on itself and I had to flip it into place.

Now I'm not sure what to do with it, as it has a tiny split, way down, and blood beneath the nail.

It's too far down the nail for me to cut where the split is, so I've just put a plaster round my finger.

Any suggestions, please?

😖 I was going to say just wear a plaster cut finely, or steri strip around the nail bed until it grows back. Could seal it with a-bit of nail hardener.

I'll have to get a supply of thesr kinds of things.
When i grew my nails, I thought i would have the french manicure look, but like a lot of my plans, that idea went out the window. blush

Mine split vertically into the quick because they're naturally incredibly weak and feeble. It's jolly painful. Nowadays I have BIAB nails which solves the problem.

Ouch!!!
That sounds awful.
I've examined mine today, and the little split is still there, way down, but it seems to have flattened out.
Now i have the urge to pick at it hmm

Many years ago I had very long strong nails )youthful hands so they looked nice imo)

One day I was making a bed and as I tucked the sheet under the mattress THEEE nails bent back ouch! Ouch! Ouch!

Blood visible from the injuries in the middle nail beds but they just grew out in time

Painful though at the time!
