Anyone else not watching the World Cup

I might watch the England games if we get near to the final, depending what time they are on.

I’ll be watching some of it. Family sweepstakes are always fun and so far I’m in the lead.

I'll watch England and Scotland live if they are on at a reasonable hour, and on catch-up if the reports of them are positive. The opening match, with three players sent off, wasn't a great advertisement for the game.

It wasn’t, was it? DGS4 was happy with it though, scooping up our family sweepstake prize for the first player to be sent off. There were only 4 red cards in total in the 2022 finals.

Scotland’s first match is 2am this Sunday

England’s first game is 21.00 on Wednesday 17/06

Well it’s started now, and I’m horrified to hear that it will be over five weeks until The End.

Such a shame so many matches are much too late, but I'll be watching as many as possible starting tonight. Come on Canada 🇨🇦⚽️🥅🏟️!

This one should stick to being a non watching thread, although it's very hard to get away from football. It's on every news bulletin, morning television, The One Show, and everywhere else for that matter.

The answer is a mix of streaming, pre-recorded programmes and DVDs. I'm happy to say I have all three in abundance. If the TV channels went off altogether I'd have enough to keep me going for years.😁

I couldn't be less interested in this footballing competition. I bet the hoohaa and media hype is a gift to the government by distracting people from pressing matters if the day.

I've never been a footie fan at all. I'm not anti-footie; it's just not me!

I'll be avoiding it all as much as possible, except on Google, where they've now got this really annoying animated thing on their page of players kicking a ball, and I can't stop it!

I don't feel the least bit patriotic about watching something I can't stand and couldn't play when I was a kid. Luckily my family understand and with the matches being on late, I'll be io bed.

I agree, it wasn't the most eloquent of replies but I get the gist.
Being proud of England winning something isn't football specific. It could be about anything England or English people winning. But yes, it was a bit blunt.
