Ear worms! What’s yours today?

I have ear worms most days, songs or bits of music that play constantly in my head, today it’s ‘Let’s Stick Together’ by Bryan Ferry.
Now, I haven’t heard this song for a long time nor have I been reading about Bryan Ferry so why should this be?
Yesterday it was a piece of music, called I think The Moonlight Sonata, again something I’ve not heard in ages.
Strange isn’t it?

'Along Came Bill' from "Showboat" popped up out of nowhere. Goodness knows why, I've never liked musicals.

I'd swap it for Beethoven any day.

I’ve had and ‘I would walk 500 hundred miles’ in my ear for days. I have tried to replace it with others but it just won’t go. It stems from watching the Marsh family sing about Farage’s 5 million.

You’ve helped me banish Bryan Ferry but now I have I would walk 500 miles in my head!😬Which is much much worse😂
One day last week I had Tub Thumping as an earworm, you know the one that goes ‘ he had a whisky drink, he had a vodka drink, he had a lager drink…’

The first time ever I saw your face…..can’t get rid of it though it makes me tearful

Grandmaofone Tue 02-Jun-26 15:15:59

there is an earworm thread on the go from last month…
anyway mine is

Summertime Sadness, Lana del Rey, 2012,
the repetitive chorus section

it is too melancholy for this rainy day
I’m going to have to go bury it in the woods

JamesandJon33 : Perhaps if you watch ‘Play Misty for Me’
this will shock you out of its grasp ?!

Mine is ‘let it go’ from Frozen after singing it over the weekend with the grandchildren, I keep humming it.

There is a name for this condition, name escapes me.
My husband is either humming, singing, or whistling. Said he’s always got a tune stuck in his head.

It would drive me nuts tbh.

Every time I've gone to do something today I've been humming, or rather la la la-ing Entrance of the Gladiators by Julius Fucik. You know the one, usually when the clowns enter at the circus.
Even listening to it hasn't helped, I hope it doesn't persist tomorrow.

It’s worse when you end up humming ‘the wheels on the bus go round and round’ after babysitting 😜

For some reason a piece from Swan Lake. Can’t imagine why as I haven’t heard it recently but it just appeared in my head and, as much as I like it, I would like it to go away.

There’s a worm at the bottom of the garden and his name is Wiggly Woo, after a visit from my GGD.

Ol Rag Blues by Status Quo. One that always goes round my head when I’m concentrating on doing something! One of my favourite tracks by my favourite band so not surprising!

Go Steady by Sam Ryder. It often is.

Little Willy (won’t go home).
I found myself singing the chorus over and over again this morning on the way to lunch with some friends.
When I mentioned it, Mrs X promptly googled The Sweet and found the whole song. I didn’t remember the group name and I never realised The Sweet was a group of young men with beautifully groomed long hair.

I thought so too. I've always got songs 'playing' in my head.
