In surgery. GP phoned back and asked me to bring him down earlier.
Farage has resigned as an MP for Clacton?

Good Morning Everyone,
Its light with a clear sky so no doubt another hot day here in Brackley .
I hope it cools down soon ,as going out to Bicester on the bus is not enjoyable with the heat .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
In surgery. GP phoned back and asked me to bring him down earlier.
Thanks for the update Mary fingers crossed for some sanity later! X
Oh gosh Marydoll you do have a lot to contend with. I hope you can be in on the meeting with the doctor!
I hope all goes well at the surgery this afternoon Marydoll
He’ll be grateful to you one day! Soon, I hope.
The surgery phoned, the could not read the BP readings and could I bring them down.
I also included a letter, say DH wasn't being truthful.
I had a melttdown in the surgery. I was mortified. I couldn't stop sobbing.
They were so kind and arranged for a GP to phone me.
She was the horrible one who told me to buy Bonjella for my cornucopia of mouth ulcers.
However, she did listen, She asked me to do his BP. He has an appointment this afternoon!
DH is now raging at me for going behind his back..
TOUGH!!!
An, also, FriedGreenTomatoes2 for the photo!
Good morning, Michael12 and all!
Thanks a bunch to Marydoll, baubles, Marzipan22, and Grammaretto, for the gorgeous photos!
Oh....yes! There were lovely cool breezes whizzing through my bedroom window last night and also today at work! The heat isn't enough to melt the sun as it was yesterday!
As I'm obsessed with yoghurts and have an entire fridge full of them, I went into Spar this morning just before work and was very excited to find 2 Mullerice and 2 Dairy Milk with Flake Desserts in the discount section. Less than £4.00 for all of them! Richard at the tills was laughing when he saw me trotting around with those beauties! So I've shoved them in the work fridge and will take them home later!
My break has ended, so I'm back on duty.
Tootle pip!
FGT2 💐
Good morning everybody from Málaga where we have another glorious forecast sunshine, a very welcome gentle breeze and 33°C.
I’m late on parade bc my sleep was in two halves last night things on my mind (see Soops 3am if interested).
I’ve just had a nice long WA video call from youngest daughter a teacher who is on Whit holidays this week and next with the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss. She said the heat had been oppressive in Manchester as it was very muggy.
Today’s plans for me are a small supermarket shop after breakfast. lunch at the lovely new cafe over the road (see pics) then this evening a taxi into Torremolinos to eat with my friends and neighbours who hail from Glasgow.
I’ve just got a second mug of tea and will now read all your doings. Thinking of all who are finding life challenging at present - one can’t buy peace of mind can one? x
Good morning from the east coast and it’s much cooler.
I had a lovely time with DD and GDs yesterday at the farm. I’m a sucker for the goofiness of goats and could have fed them all day. It’s so much fun being with the girls.
We had last night out and a meal with DHs cousin and his wife catching up after our holiday.
Today we are going in the garden with it being cooler. DH bought large pink and red geraniums for some pops of colour and beetroot and tomato plants so they need to go in. The border where we want the geraniums is so hard to dig with being so dry. I walked down the garden earlier and noticed as well 2 tumbling tomato baskets hanging up which the GDs will enjoy picking from.
Hoping the cooler day gives us all some respite. 🌼
Thoughts to those struggling with health problems and stress. 💐
I am waiting a call back.
They triage the consults then contact you. Unfortunately it will be DH, the call.
Bu**er Marydoll. Spoke too soon!! He really is the limit, but did you get an appointment?
Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast.
The usual music club yesterday and I was on hosting duty. Not quite such a big turnout as last week and people come and go, as is the way with these things. I’ve lost my list of performers’ names and need to make a new one.
The internet connection let me down, so a song meant to have a backing, had to be replaced with an unaccompanied folk song..
Then into the village for supplies and bought a white geranium. Homemade chicken casserole in the evening followed by a play from 1980, The Misanthrope with Ian Holm. Updated to the 1920s.
Lunchtime piano recital today and no opera co. rehearsal tonight although I need to look at the music.
Hope you all have the best day you can🌺
Good morning from a cool, still, grey Durham. We are forecast up to 22, while in Cheshire, my SinL can expect 31 - quite a difference.
Not a lot planned today, but I’m going to DD1’s house to drop something off and collect keys, then over to DD2’s house to pick up DGS2’s laundry. Both DDs are away on holiday, Turkey and Majorca respectively.
Once I’m back, I’ve several phone calls to make, then I should give the GTech a treat and get him out to play. DD2’s Little Dog to walk later too.
MD I have everything crossed that you get some sort of progress today for your DH and that you feel a little better too ❤️
Best wishes to all. X
Oh Marydoll I hope you got that appointment!
So.... I logged into to the surgery at 7.30am, to find DH's password was wrong. Where was he? Nowhere to be seen!
He was downstairs watching TV.
There are only a limited amount of slots, so I was getting really anxious, I could feel my heart racing.
I eventually got him to reset his password on my PC, but he wasn't logged into his own PC and five minutes later, he eventually got in to reset the password.
I had TOLD him, he had to be upstairs, in case of any problems, but as usual, he denied, that I had said this. Of course it was all my fault, despite me trying to do my best for him. 😪
Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞 day in Northampton. A bit cooler today, so I am going to go out early and cut the.front grass while it is still partly shaded out there.
The Openreach broadband engineer came early yesterday morning, and set everything up - connected the new 'fast' broadband, and converted the landline to digital - I could not believe how easy it seemed and all was working well.
Alas all went pear-shaped in the afternoon when I tried to make a call on the landline and it was completely dead.....
There followed an hour on my mobile to a very nice man in Dublin who took me through all the steps needed to get a connection - this involved using the camera on my phone and directing me to unplug cable A , switch various things on and off, plug cable A back in and so on - there was much kneeling.down on the floor to access various sockets - accompanied by a very.curious cat who tried to help.... In the end I had to shut her out of the room.
Finally, after nearly an hour my phone was working again. I'm not holding my breath.......
To make matters worse I just cannot get into my BT account which seems permanently locked - I have lost count of the number of times I have changed and entered new usernames and passwords to no avail - I am going to have to ring BT again.... It is a nuisance as I need to check my tv package to see what I am actually paying for and the only way to do it is through the account.
Just thinking of putting the towels in the washing machine and then going out to cut the grass.
Then I have a Sainsbury's delivery at lunchtime, plus a session of dust removal and vacuuming in the sitting room (I have a friend coming for coffee tomorrow).
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning all and it does feel a bit cooler 🙏.
Today the chiropodist is coming 9.30-10.30. For Dh.
I’ll get the bus up to town and go to the bank and then solicitors with ‘more’ paperwork.
I’ll get Dh some sushi for lunch (his fav).
Must get out to water the pots. The plants are wilting before my eyes.
Walk little pooch in the shade while it’s cool.
Marydoll I hope you get some answers. 🙏
Take care all 🌺
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. There’s a lovely breeze this morning, and it’s pleasantly cool outside. No storms for us yesterday although there may be a shower later today - but who knows if we’ll get one. I didn’t do much yesterday, went for my usual walk which was good. None of the usual dog walkers about, I think they’d all been out earlier, it was 9.00 when I went out.
grandmattie I hope the church is pleasantly cool for the FAB cafe today.
Some lovely photos this morning, I love the statue marydoll. I hope you manage to get an appointment for your DH and that there’s some relief for his BP issues. I hope that you begin to feel a little better soon too.
rosesandlilac I hope your leg isn’t too sore today. Take it easy and rest if you can.
grannygravy definitely time for the lightweight duvet! I put mine on at the weekend with a sheet between me and the duvet, so far I’ve only had a sheet on me overnight!
Hoping that all who are suffering with health and other issues find some relief today. Keep cool if you can.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a warm breezy Morecambe Bay. The wind keeps dragging the curtains through the open windows. The house is very well insulated which is great in winter but once it gets hot it’s very difficult to cool it down. I need the cooler air to come in overnight.
Yesterday’s visit went well but I felt so sorry listening to my friends trials and tribulations about her trials with her very elderly mother which seem to lurch from from problem to another and many hours are being spent sitting in A&E with her. There’s nothing I can do especially as we are over 60 miles apart, but I can lend a sympathetic ear from time to time. My own DM sadly died when I was 40 so I’ve not been in her situation.
There was an interesting chat on the car radio as I headed up the motorway with a nurse talking about skin care in the sun. She pointed out sun creams lose their efficacy after either 6 or 12 months depending on the brand. I hadn’t realised that and as we have spare bottles in the car and camper they must be well out of date and useless!
Gardening for a lady for me today so I’m hoping it doesn’t get too hot. I
think I’m cutting some ivy back for her.
Take care everyone 🌸
Good morning from a cooler Leicestershire.
Not much planned today until a play reading with NWR this evening.
Hope you get to speak to a doctor Marydoll.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning from a lovely Suffolk where it feels cooler and fresher. The rain forecast to be passing over East Anglia in the night bypassed us so I’m about to wield the hose before the sun reaches those parts of the garden with pots and flower beds.
I had a great time with my friends for lunch yesterday up the coast where there was a gentle sea breeze and everywhere was very busy apart from, unusually, the pub car park. Gingster we weren’t at Dunwich but the Jolly Sailors!
Ironing seems to be a feature of today’s posts and I’ll join in with the need to do a pile.We are going on holiday on Saturday so needs must.
I hope Marydoll that your efforts to get an appt for your DH are successful and all have a good day in a less intense heat. I’m off to keep fit which will be a gentle class I think since the average age of the participants must be well over 70.
Good morning all from the Scottish Highlands where it's a chilly 9° and I'm back in bed with a cuppa.
My friend took me to some of her favourite places yesterday. The old church at Nigg which holds one of the most important Pictish standing stones. We crossed on the wee ferry to Cromarty and hoped to see the Hugh Millar museum but a lot of places are still closed. Never mind, the village is very pretty and the ice cream was welcome on such a warm day. That's Hugh on his column.
A large dolphin or was it a whale leapt up in front of me on the ferry home. Glorious!
I hope you get that consultation for DH Marydoll 🤞
Thoughts are with those struggling today.
Good morning all from a cooler North Leicestershire.
DH has a gym session this morning, our cleaner will be here and I am going to iron - possibly! I have to ring a stone mason for the wall too. We are planning to go to a cafe by a lake for lunch.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning, 19 and bright sun in S Hants. Ouch * Roses* I hope your leg isn’t too sore.
A wilting day yesterday, similar today, I’d love a storm, it’s unlikely though. Consequently little was done, today will be similar, we must water late tonight and an easy quiche with salad tonight.
Cypriot potatoes are in, we both love them, so a few of them too.
Have a pleasant day all.
