The trouble is that whilst it may be believed that Poster X did the deed, it is not known for sure, and nor is it known why she did it - if she did it. If Poster X is reading the thread, and is aware that she is in the frame, she must be feeling terrible, and has no means of defending herself if innocent, or explaining herself if not.
The decision to ban wasn’t Person X’s - it was HQ’s. X may have assumed there would be a warning or just a post deletion, and after all, we are encouraged to report and leave adjudication to HQ.
For various reasons I have a fear of being wrongly accused, but that aside I think most of us would hate to think that PMs about us are circulating and that we are being reviled on the board.
I had hoped that there would have been a decision to reinstate Allira by now, but I can’t help thinking that this thread might work against that happening, as X’s position would be untenable if her report is exposed as unsound, and others might be deterred from alerting HQ to anything untoward on the board.
I realise that HQ is in a difficult position - they have acted on information given, and made a judgement call that is unpopular, as can be seen by the feeling expressed on this thread. OTOH, their duty is to all of us, including Person X. How do they reinstate Allira without sending the message that there is no recourse against popular posters?
If there has been a deliberate attempt to remove Allira (and we have seen some very dirty dealing against posters in the past, so it is possible), deleting the evidence really doesn’t help. All the same, I assume the deleted posts are visible to Admin, so they are in a better position than we are to have an overview.
If they can, on reflection, see that they were hasty, maybe a solution would be to allow Allira to re register in a new name with no fanfare? If, OTOH, there is information we don’t know about, a post on the lines of ‘Having reviewed the situation we are confident that these rules (a,b,c) have been breached, and having discussed our reasoning with Allira and listened to her defence - that bit is very important - we are standing by our decision.’ Or something else that helps the rest of us to understand the rules and how they are enforced.
I realise that It’s not for me to tell HQ how to deal with things, but ignoring this thread, and everyone on it, is not helping. It feels very disrespectful to all of us, and is not helping to address whatever it was that Allira has been accused of doing. Justice needs to be seen to be done, and we are not seeing it. Speculation about what happened is likely to continue until we get some sort of answer.
