Good Morning Everyone,
Its light, dry and a clear sky in for another hot day here in Brackley .
My plans I will get a earlier bus to shop and maybe say hello to those I know
I will watch cycling on TV as well and try to stay cool in my flat with maybe closing the blinds when I get the sun direct through my window .
Health OK despite heat.
Take Care,
Mick

An early good morning for me from a hot and sunny Suffolk. I’m about to give the pots and flower beds a good soaking before the sun reaches them and I suspect they’ll need the same in the cool of the evening.

I’m going up the coast to meet 3 friends for lunch in a pub overlooking the sea. We have a table booked inside as it will be too uncomfortable to sit outside. We only meet every couple of months so we always chat for a good couple of hours and more.

Hope all can find some shade or a cooler indoors and have a good day.

Morning, 20 already in S Hants. Today will be a repeat of yesterday, all jobs done before about 12.
We had a bbq and my son here last night, leftovers for tonight.
Arosa looks very inviting brook enjoy your hike.
Take it easy today all.

Good morning everyone from an already very warm 21°C Northampton.
I stayed in most of yesterday being very lazy, but did get a sweet and sour chicken into the slow cooker.

Then at 5pm I decided to go out and cut the back lawn, as most of it was in shade - I couldn't stand looking at the long grass any longer! It was still a hot job, but I found a pack of Sprite cans in the garage fridge so enjoyed a really chilled drink. The grass looks a lot better.

I am currently waiting in today for a broadband engineer to arrive to finally connect the new FastFibre internet/wifi, and also hopefully sort the new phone connection.

No other plans except to keep cool, calm and collected.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from the east coast. Not such a hot day today.
I’m joining the DGDs and DD today for a visit to a farm. I’m wishing I wasn’t now as I had a really bad night sleep with the heat. I expect there will be lots of people feeling the same. I was due to have DGS this morning but his mother has kindly said she’ll have him for the day.
I do love a farm visit though.
Tonight we are out with DHs cousin and his wife for a catch up.

It was good to hear from Marydoll yesterday but sad to hear they are having a difficult time. 💐

Hoping you can all stay cool today. 🌞
Thoughts to those stressed and anxious 💐

Marydoll Tue 26-May-26 07:49:35

Good morning all,

To clarify.

I have been dipping in and out reading your posts, and trying to keep up to date, but failing badly.
However, I send you all my very best wishes.

I haven't been posting because at the moment, I am a misery guts and have little news. We are unable to look after Babydoll, so no antics to report.

Looking after DH, who is not responding to the new medication, is not easy. He has moments, where he is unrational and and can be quite hurtful. Five minutes later, he has forgotten.
DD says I am being over protective, but I am worried sick. She doesn't have to live with him!

It has taken its toll on my own health. Everything has flared up, ut I just need to ride it out.
Yesterday was spent in bed, I had a horrible diverticulitis flare up.

Today will be a very quiet day. So much needs done in the garden, but I am nor up to it.
As always, I will ride out the storm, it's just a helluva long storm!

R&L I hope your appointment goes well

Into the bargain, we have a leak from the kitchen ceiling, it never rains, but it pours. 😉

Best wishes to all of you and thank you for thinking of me.
.

Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast. A walk through the sand dunes at the end of the road on to the beach yesterday and not a soul around on the beach itself. Apart from that, a lazy day.

Today to the music club where I’m on duty. I haven’t decided what to sing yet. Can’t decide what to wear either, with this sudden leap into summer.
A pic of my regular walk.
Wishing you all a good day🌺

grandMattie Tue 26-May-26 08:02:34

My poor MD! How very troubling for you all. Perhaps you could send your DH to spend the day with your DD so she can see how difficult he can be? (Only joking).
All the very best 🌹🌺

Good morning everybody from Málaga I’ve just taken this photo from my front door I do love looking at those mountains behind here and first thing in the morning one can smell the scent of the pine trees.

I have LWW this afternoon so will pick out a nice dress from those that didn’t get culled last week! Before I meet Man. Utd friends I think I’ll have a mooch around Arroyo and look for a nice print to cover the holes in the wall where the tv bracket was! Himself would be horrified by this short cut (probably you too karma 😮) but I’ve found a tube of No More Nails ….

Good to hear from you Marydoll but sorry it is not better news.

glammagran Tue 26-May-26 08:20:59

Good morning from a much-warmer-than-Crete, Wiltshire. Woke up far too early as I’m still on European time.

We got back home at 7:30pm where the temp was still showing 31°c. I’ll do some washing in batches gradually over the rest of the week. Ocado delivery this morning.

I’m sorry to hear of yours and your DH’s health woes MD. Thanks for posting. You’ve had a hell of a roller coaster year. I hope you are able to have Babydoll soon.

I’m glad to hear your DGD is ok Kittylester but what an awful accident involving your historically old garden wall. Sounds like the handbrake had not been applied in the truck.

Best wishes to you for today R&L.

Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Tue 26-May-26 08:22:28

Good morning all and I’m glad it’s not just me that hates this weather. Hopefully next week will cool us down 🙏.

Yesterday went well with bus to my Chimes group and a friend bringing me back to just over by the station , so she didn’t have to go through the town twice. I’m blessed with lovely friends and family 🙏.
Another pal picking me up for Bridge this afternoon.

GG good luck with the beach. You’re a stronger woman than I. 🥵.

Marydoll sorry you’re having a double whammy with not only your own health but with Dh too. It’s hard to see your ‘rock’ not being there for you anymore. Mine is the same. 😢.
Keep your chin up and take each day.

Fgt a woman after my own heart - No More nails! Life’s too short.

Liberty I’m envious of your lunch today, looking out to sea. I think I know where you will be.

Brook how lovely to be in that pure clear air of the mountains.

Take care all and don’t stay in the sun for too long. 🥵

GrannyIvy Tue 26-May-26 08:27:39

Good morning from a windy Algarve. We are forecast 29 degrees. All is quiet DD2 and the little ones seem to be sleeping in. I think the plan is to go to the beach this morning but will see if the wind settles a little.

We have booked a meal out tonight at a Portuguese family restaurant we haven’t tried before which is about 10 mins drive away.

It appears to be warmer at home at the moment and I am worried about how my garden is faring. I have a friend watering so fingers crossed.

Marydoll I do hope things get easier. Sending best wishes to all who are struggling 🌷

harrigran Tue 26-May-26 08:34:16

Good morning from a sunny NE where the forecast is for a little cooler today.
Yesterday was spent reading in the garden. I left every blind closed in the house which meant the downstairs was bearable but had to have the Dyson on overnight in the bedroom.
Financial advisor is visiting this morning, he drives from Yorkshire so I will need to have water chilling in the fridge.
Have a good day.

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it’s hot already. DH is out with crazy dog and I’m off to the audiologist again after that I’m going to Cumbria to meet a friend - hopefully there will be air-conditioning.
Wishing everybody well🌸

Gagagran Tue 26-May-26 08:45:36

Thank you George's Gran for the pointer to MD's update yesterday and I am sorry to read of the problems she is enduring further up this thread.

We cannot help practically but sending our caring and supportive thoughts might just make you feel a bit better Mary . Your DH must be a big worry for you and your own health issues are a constant burden I know.

So, I do send warmest regards and best wishes for some ease and improvement for you both and hope for better news soon. flowers

Good morning all from the north of Scotland. I travelled up yesterday by bus and the temperature dropped as we got further north so I'm sitting in borrowed gown and slippers in my df's beautiful sitting room (she's an artist) sipping tea after an excellent sleep.

I forgot my phone charger so I may not be on here much longer. 😉

My house went on the market yesterday and the first viewing is booked for Saturday so I shall need to return.

Today we may take the ferry to Cromarty or look at Pictish stones of which there are many and my friend is a gentle expert.

I love getting the happy news from Málaga.

Sad to hear that Marydoll is having such tough times.

Pretty top Karma 😊
Thanks for the photos which help me to imagine your doings.

Hope the heat isn't unbearable. I hear from my poor DC working in England or Ireland that it's too hot for them.
At least the Nat 5s are finally over for DGD.

Sending hugs to all those struggling today.

cornergran Tue 26-May-26 08:58:17

maryd flowers and a hug.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 26-May-26 09:14:51

Good morning from Stockport where it is already 27 degrees.
I stayed in all day again until we went out for an early evening meal for my GS’s birthday.

I couldn’t believe the heat when I went to get in the car.
My GS’s partner and the baby didn’t come, she had been very unsettled all day with the heat, the two year old was a delight, she is getting to know us well now after a brief period of only slight contact.

I must ring the vet soon as Molly is pulling her fur out, we thought she was just moulting but now we can see her yanking fur out with her teeth.

Also need a plumber to sort out a dripping shower, we have replaced the washers to no effect.

Arosa looked delightful Brooke enjoy your gentle strolls.
Lovely top Karmalady such talent.

Enjoy the weather all but keep cool and hydrated.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 26-May-26 09:34:51

Sorry to hear of all your woes and stress Marydoll and hoping for better news soon. x

TheWeirdoAgain60 Tue 26-May-26 10:41:21

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

Gorgeous Arosa!

Boss and I had yesterday off, being another Bank Holiday, so I stayed at home and didn't go out at all!

I've always hated summer/sun/heat, and this heatwave is killing me! I even had to take my rings off because it was making my hands and fingers swell up!

I had all the windows and blinds open, fans oscillating for hours at a time. Couldn't read or anything! Just drank gallons and slept on top of the duvet, swimming in sweat!

Back at work this morning with the desk fan whizzing around and guzzling a can of Monster Ultra!

Apparently, there's going to be rain on the 27th......WEEEEEE!

Have a good one, all of you!

dustyangel Tue 26-May-26 10:47:35

Good morning everyone from a blustery and warm Algarve. I put fresh water out for the birds every morning and nearly got blown over as a sudden gust blew.

Hoping both you and your husband are feeling much better soon Marydoll💐.

I’m waiting for a new, temporary, cleaner to arrive. My usual treasure has broken her leg!
