I like sunny days but the heat saps my energy.
I can’t do anything energetic for more than 20 minutes.
I have watered the plants but am not going outside until there is some shade. The housework will have to wait. I have no plans for today but will try to tick some admin jobs off my list.

Housework, s far as humanly possible.

London. 32 degrees. Stifling! I'm working my way through the Saturday and Sunday supplements sitting on the tiles in my shorts in the north-facing kitchen and doing nothing else.

Pretty much everything actually. We had to go out this morning and we were both drained when we got home. Same again tomorrow too but my appointment is set for 8.15 and hopefully I can be back home before the heat becomes intense.

Cossy

Almost everything hahaha

I got back from East Beach about an hour ago via the seafront road.

East Beach was rather civilised, once you got past Ocean Beach it was horrendous, hundreds of people everywhere…

I’m on holiday in remote Devon by coast. 3 mins walk to lovely beach. Swimming everyday, sitting in shade on deckchair. Suits me

I hate you - that is my idea of heaven. North or South?

Not just thundery showers but huge hailstones - S Yorks 4pm.
refreshing unless you were out and about unprepared.

Oh well done you, whilst I love the countryside, I simply couldn’t do or cope with what you farming folk do! Total respect flowers

I have a package awaiting collection from the shop down the road. I stuck my head out of the door and decided it is too hot to go now. It is 31 degrees, but cooling down later. Maybe I ‘ll go later as the shop is open till 10pm but thundery showers are forecast at around 6pm which should cool things down.

its all so boring is doing nothing

A friend has invited me for tea. I am taking a cake so will drive instead of walk. It’s 31 at the moment and I’m melting.

I put some washing on and then went to my kit-fit class. I came back to get my purse and then went to Tesco's and looked in the charity shop. I came back and put the washing out with another load in.

Too hot to garden!

I've been farming for over 60 years. Now widowed. I am having harder and harder time hauling, splitting and stacking firewood for winter. In this heat I try to get up early and work for an hour or two. Don't work outdoors much past 9 a.m. I love it but have to be much more careful now!

My lounge is open plan and has stairs in the sitting room, with a large cupboard under it. I stupidly decided to clear it out today as I have been reading the de cluttering thread.
I should not have started as the heat really got to me, but too far in to stop. I have recycled alot, I have bagged up some candles for my daughter, and got rid of things that had broken.
I am now psyching my self to put things in the bin outside. Glad it's done but wish I had not started.
I have put out washing made the bed and wiped down the kitchen. That's my lot for the day.

Well, we needed to pop into town this morning to do a few necessary jobs but this afternoon I’m sitting in front of the fan indoors looking at GN. Oh, I hung some washing out when we got back - that’s about it on the domestic front today.

Sadie5803 Tue 26-May-26 14:33:36

I do the least as possible in this heat

pamdixon Tue 26-May-26 14:27:14

32 here in Oxon! Too hot for anything....wish I was abroad with a lovely swimming pool to cool off it. Have washed sheets and towels - it all dries v. quickly in the sun! Otherwise - I'm slobbing out.

fluttERBY123 Tue 26-May-26 14:13:04

Hunkered down in a room with an aircon unit installed a few years ago. Went down to the shop for eggs at 8 am.
Wondering why people are lying about in the sun. I did 10 mins gardening at 4 pm yesterday and the back of my neck was burning.

Ilovedogs22 Tue 26-May-26 14:11:56

Personally, I'm avoiding shorts!

grandMattie Tue 26-May-26 14:11:56

32 here too.
Nothing, or as little as possible.

grannysyb Tue 26-May-26 14:02:11

32 here! We have a small Southwest facing garden which is paved, so we are not using it much! I’ve just ordered another fan, a tower one for our sitting room. I’m not doing anything apart from some sewing, having said that, I did go out for some salad earlier, saw a woman in a thick fleece, really?

moving! i hate heat and am just sat by an open window though not as much breeze today
worried about my dog as he has typical Chihuahua trachea issues Due to issues long story he normally lies in his bed in the corner. I moved his bed today and just put down a blanket as I thought a fur basket bit hot. Anyway i put down a big bowl of chilly water and put the fan opposite him so not too frightening but does get the breeze. the window is close too dont know what else I can do; bedroom is lovely and shady most the time but he wont go where I am not
