Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It’s much brighter this morning but I don’t think it’s going to be hot.

Last night we had an evening in the company of friends who have a huge amount of stress in their lives, I do worry about them and the effect it has on their health.

Today we are going over to DD’s to look after the children for the afternoon, the thirteen year old has asked if she can come back with us to stay overnight.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. We have quite a lot of cloud this morning, but it’s unlikely to rain, the cloud should clear by mid morning. Another hot day is forecast. Yesterday I went for my usual walk and met up with several dog walking friends who were all complaining about the heat at 9.30am!
DD2 FaceTimed yesterday afternoon from Türkiye where it was pouring with rain. Their hotel seemed fairly well equipped with activities for children indoors, so the DGC will be happy enough.

Nothing much planned for today , but I’ll change to the summer duvet from the mid season one. That will probably be enough exercise for the day!

grandmattie a shame that your Spanish class is ending.

brook enjoy your visit to your DS.

marzipan sad to leave your lovely allotment, but they can become quite demanding to keep up can’t they? The fresh veg are tasty though. Perhaps you can grow more veg in pots on your patio if there’s room?

Hoping that those who are struggling find some relief today. I’m missing those who aren’t posting at the moment and hoping all is well with them.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from an already warm North Leicestershire.

Our drive to and from Yorkshire went really smoothly and, while DH's sister in law didn't know exactly who we were, she obviously recognised we were people she knew and liked. Her son is doing a great job with her. Who knew the little monkey he used to be would turn out so caring.

Today, we need to unblock the kitchen sink.

Grammaretto Sat 23-May-26 07:54:04

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's warm but not hot here.

I had a poor night. I am anxious about house selling and house buying.
My house won't go public until Monday as my solicitor is closed at the weekend.
I am viewing a bungalow today but although it looks fine inside it is on a busy road and is overlooked.

My friend came for tea yesterday and has invited me out tomorrow which is something to look forward to.

A pity your Spanish class has had to fold gMattie . My Gaelic class is smaller than last term but still viable. It's one of the few classes I have been to where men outnumber women. a curious fact

Have a lovely day everyone and keep hydrated.

Good morning from the east coast. I think I heard it raining in the night but it’s beautiful now. It lifts my soul.
We are having smoked haddock and poached egg for breakfast this morning because I got it out yesterday to cook for tea but by the time DSIL had left and we’d enjoyed a long chat in the garden we couldn’t be bothered so ordered a takeaway.

I am picking up my best friend later from the bus and she’s staying over until tomorrow. We will go straight to our other best friend as it’s her birthday and then come back to ours to get ready as tonight we are all going out for a meal together. I’m going to orchestrate sitting her opposite my DH or our other friend as I don’t want her looking at an empty chair. We are all back at ours for desserts which my DH is making this morning. There will be a white chocolate cheesecake and lemon possets. I’m sure there will be lots of tears as it’s the first time the five of us have been together since our friend died last month.

Hope you enjoy the sunshine today 🌼
Thoughts to those suffering stress and anxiety 💐

Good morning from Staffordshire where it is already very warm.

We are looking after DGS1 while DD2 and SIL are at a three day wedding. The videos and photos she has sent so far show the event as opulent and incredible! The wedding started at 8.30 yesterday morning but as they are both teachers they didn’t get there until late afternoon.A good job it’s half term next week so they have time to recover!

No plans for today.DGS1 is not used to his parents being away having only been away from them two nights in his eight years. He is doing really well so far and seems to be enjoying himself 🤞🏻we have given him options of things to do but I think he wants to stay close to home which suits me.

Keep safe in the heat everyone.Thinking of all with worries.

Hoping Marydoll and her DH are ok🙏🏻

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌷🦩

Good morning from a bright but still cloudy Suffolk. Unless we are away, which we always used to be with DC and DGC for this half term,we always stay put on bank holidays. Everywhere is so crowded around here especially at the coast ,that we prefer the peace and quiet of home.

DGD4 is doing her DofE expedition for her bronze. They left school yesterday for their overnight camp and continue the walk today. Sensibly( although the 14 year olds may not think so) their walk started at 5am to avoid the heat at the hottest part of the day. We had a lovely photo yesterday of big sister plaiting her hair before she left for school.

Hope all enjoy whatever plans,if any, are in place for today.

Good morningfrom Plantaniás, Crete. Rain was forecast for most of the day but the sun is out though with some cloud. It feels a bit humid as well.

Yesterday we were treated to an ariel display over the sea by a solo F-16 fighter jet flying upside down and rolling over and over, then soaring over us and circling round and coming back. The noise was deafening. Melanie - there are alot of miliatary airports in Greece so I don't think we see the same planes.

DD1 and her DH drove up to Newcastle from Berkshire for the weekend to collect DGD1 from uni. He must have been exhausted having only returned from the U.S. the previous evening.

Have good day everyone. Its forecast to be hotter in England than here.

Good morning from a very warm Leicestershire.

We are venturing out to a local beauty spot despite it being really busy. We usually stay home on Bank Holidays but today thought we would risk it.

Back home I will plants out some more plants.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Marzipan22 Sat 23-May-26 08:14:22

Redcar thank you. Fortunately I have a lovely organic veg shop just down my road so I'll use that instead. No room on my patio except for herbs among the shrubs.

Jaxjacky Sat 23-May-26 08:15:43

Morning, 18 already in S Hants. I feel for you Marzipan giving up your allotment, I did the same before our French adventures.
Rubbish timing GG13 I hoe he recovers well.
Enjoy your trip brook catching up with your son.
Yesterday was washing, grocery delivery and a happy catch up in our local. Today the chiller unit will be out in the l room and fan in our bedroom. We will be staying close to home.
Have a good day all.

Susan56 Sat 23-May-26 08:27:20

Ash I’m sorry you are feeling unwell.I hope a few days of rest sees you feeling better,The ironing can definitely wait.x

Grandmabatty Sat 23-May-26 08:30:02

I haven't seen any posts from Karma for a few days. I'm hoping she's ok too

Jaxjacky Sat 23-May-26 08:42:50

I think karma said a while ago she’d only post intermittently.

monk08 Sat 23-May-26 08:47:10

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Not much planned for today perhaps have a potter in front garden it's much cooler than the back.
Ash take it easy today.
GrannyGravy DS broke his Scaphoid bone just before A levels unfortunately it was his right one, he had to sit exams separately with someone doing the writing for him. He passed them but his maths weren't as good as expected because as you can imagine it would be easier for him than trying to explain to someone.
Grandmabatty I seem to remember Karma said she would be spending less time on line.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, thoughts with missing posters hoping to hear from Marydoll.

Grandmabatty Sat 23-May-26 08:54:08

Thank you for the information about Karma. I must have missed that.

Georgesgran Sat 23-May-26 09:05:06

Good Morning from a glorious Durham. It’s breezy, so hopefully, it won’t feel too warm, as DD2 is bringing DGS2 over this afternoon to play in the garden - he’ll need his factor 50. I’m off to Tesco soon to stock up on food for them. DD1 arrived safely in Turkey and it’s a poor start to their week with pouring rain.
I hope the MDs are alright.

Best wishes to all. X

harrigran Sat 23-May-26 09:31:35

Good morning from the NE where it is partially cloudy at present.
Yesterday was glorious and I spent most of the day reading in the garden.
I could hear the Big Weekend music from the park a few miles away so put the TV on and watched Fat Boy Slim.
Both GDs are going to be there today.
I was awake at 3.30 with stomach pains so walked around the house and made a green tea. Fell asleep about 5am and had a couple of hours.
Have a good Bank Holiday weekend 😎

aggie Sat 23-May-26 09:38:18

Good Morning Michael and all from a warm ish Co Armagh
We are supposed to be going to visit a garden near here , tomorrow
I phoned but couldn’t get a straight answer as to whether I could get round with my rollator, we will go and give our donation , the Charity is Cardiac Rehab
I got pots with building tomato supports , I’m having difficulty building the supports! Put one leg in , another leg pops out !
I might ditch the wigwam effects and just use my bamboo sticks instead
I’ve the awning out and the curtains closed , I used to love heat , but now can’t stand heat or cold , think my thermostat is broken 🙄
I’ve just finished antibiotics for a uti and hope to not need another for a while , they make me feel rotten , hope I pep up now and get my tomatoes planted into these wretched pots
Wishing us all a better spell ahead 💐

Morning from my bit of South Lanarkshire where it’s cloudy and windy. I’m getting organised to meet my sister for lunch in Glasgow. We’ll be finalising arrangements for our holiday in Tuscany in a fortnight’s time and I’m very much looking forward to it.

I was very happy for you Grandmabatty when I read about your happy news, what a lovely surprise for you.

My friend was a bit down yesterday as she has been told that the heart operation she was pinning her hopes on, will not be possible as she is too frail to cope safely with the anaesthetic.
Faced with the fact that the only option which will allow her to get out and about is by using a wheelchair, she is really struggling. It’s a lot to take in.

That was real bad luck for your grandson GrannyGravy, I hope his accident and sudden change in circumstances .will be taken into account when papers are marked, they should be.

Wishing everyone a good weekend, you’re doing well FGTx

Usedtobeblonde Sat 23-May-26 11:33:00

Almost Good Afternoon from Stockport.
I only woke up an hour ago.
It is very warm but clouded over here, I had the fan on all night and will hunt out the summer duvet today.
I am not going anywhere at all this BH but actually no change there.
I feel so tired all the time now, my mojo has certainly gone to sunnier shores.
Such happy times with family for some of you makes me so nostalgic.
Keep on keeping all if you can.
