Yes finally a period of decent weather!
Today is the shop and cleaning downstairs and some gardening.
Tomorrow is upstairs and gardening and Saturday is enjoying the garden with my book after an hour or two of weeding and planting.
I cannot wait to sit outside, eat outside and wear shorts, I am so excited!
Are you planning on a weekend outdoors?

Well I’m just about to leave Spain. When we arrived the weather was temperate. 25 c approximately two days later it’s soared to 35c
Looking forward to getting back home but it looks like more of the same. Unfortunately !

I hate the sun, and summer too. I get SAD in the summer instead of the winter. I don't want to get up, or go out when it's sunny. Hate the long light days too.

Sorry, can’t stand the heat. I’ll get my coat.
Or maybe not …..

Anything over 20 degrees is uncomfortable for me. I will sit out for a little while, probably 15mins or so, hoping to boost my vitamin D levels, but after that I will be indoors with the French windows open and hoping for a breeze. At the moment though, here in N Cheshire, the skies a full of threatening dark clouds and it is threatening to rain.

Our A/C unit turned up yesterday, so I left DH to fiddle about and set it up. After a couple of hours I went to see what he was doing.

Found him sat in a freezing cold room - which if it was winter he would insist on having the heating on😄😄😄

I'm sure the OP meant this as a cheery thread so it's a beautiful morning and the birds are singing.

The awful noise from the builders destroying yet another field near me has stopped for a few days at least.

I'm not a fan of the heat these days I must admit! My thermostat has gone haywire since the menopause 🙄. I have arranged to go to a local pub by the canal this evening though - my lovely neighbour and friend has a gig there! So live music, pizza and a long cool drink is on the menu! Have a lovely BH weekend everyone whatever you're doing 🎉🌞 And stay cool 😎 those who find plus 30 degrees a struggle!

All be careful, though. I have had a few skin cancers removed from my nose. I don’t sunbathe, this was from walking around everyday without sunscreen. I know the sun is fierce in Australia but I would also say that my mum ,who lived in the UK all her life, also got them on her eyelids because she used to go to sleep in a deckchair in her garden in a London suburb.

My DD went for a regular skin check last week. The consultant commented on her lack of sun damage.
She sails, swims also lives in Australia.
She sent me a thank you for ‘all your nagging’!

I love magnums, Oreo, but only buy the minis in an effort to eat healthy. They are gorgeous.....

Have you discovered the tubs of Magnum bonbons? They are small discs of chocolate covered rippled ice cream in various flavours. Solero do similar too. I have become hooked! The trouble is one is never enough!

Queued all the way down the road to get into the tip. I don’t know what made me think it would be quiet 😩
Guess everyone has the same idea when the sun comes out.

Oh to be able to wear shorts, those days have long gone but I shall hunt out the cropped trousers and the tee shirts and sit on the patio which is full of weeds and pretend it isn’t.

I'm going to go on wearing shorts until I can't physically get them on! My legs aren't brilliant these days, but so many men walk about in shorts with less than perfect legs, I don't see why we shouldn't.

I'm very messy & always end up with dirty knees in trousers, doghairs all over in leggings - shorts are great I can just give my knees a wash & head out...

I was brought up by the sea on the East Kent coast and am just remembering hot summers there when the old thermometer went up to 100F in the sun.
My parents had a tall wide cherry tree in the middle of the grass and I lay under that on a blanket to revise for exams and later on my 2 DDs lay under it kicking their legs as babies. Lovely memory.

I still wear shorts, I think they look okay as long as they are the right length, around mid thigh, and are tailored rather than elasticated. I hate those jersey ones which just look like a big nappy to me.

BBQ's and the stink wafting over the suburban garden fence is bad enough (burnt and charred shrivelled chicken pieces anyone?), but the accompanying noise from a too loud sound system puts the top hat on things.
