Good morning all from a brightish but cloudy North Leicestershire.

We had an absolutely lovely day yesterday. The dance school show was really lovely- from the teenies who were slightly overawed to the older girls who were very professional. DGD2 and 3 were fantastic grin though DGD2 was mortified when the whole theatre sang 'Happy Birthday' We went for a pizza after to celebrate.

DD3 starts her new job today and DGD is doing Work Experience in a solicitor's office - it's all go round here.

DH is off to the gym and I will potter.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 7°C, with showers forecast.

I hope you are feeling better Bella and there are no after effects.

I have a few things to do at church, then I will catch up on housework, which has been badly neglected.
I was supposed to remove all the chairs covers today, but a young couple, with the help of parishioners, removed them between the two morning Masses,
I was so relieved, I am feeling wabbit (weary) and my BP was higher than DH's yesterday,
His is now so erratic, I may need to contact his GP.

Yesterday, I fell asleep, when I got home, All I managed to do was plant eight strawberry plants, filling some gaps. I have perennials to plant, but can't find the time to do it.

The granddaughter of an elderly parishioner presented me with chocolates for helping her gran at her recent wedding.
The gran and her friend, both with walking aids, were
anxious about seating at the wedding.
I removed chairs, to accommodate their walkers and sat them as near the front as possible.
They were delighted to have a VIP seat. 😉
This surprise gift restored my faith in human nature,
It came after an unpleasant incident with a rude parishioner.
I cannot understand why people come to church and then behave like that.
Some parishioners seem to forget, that I am a volunteer, not an employee.

FGT, I hope your trip goes well and those on holiday have an enjoyable time,

Best wishes to all our mountaineers. 💐

Well all smooth 😁 I’m already in the airport lounge this is so doable which is why we bought our ‘happy place’

Taxi on time 7am
Was through security no queue by 7:30am
Scanners let us keep liquids and electricals in bag so no unpacking nor taking off shoes nor watches that was easy!

Just going to get a coffee now and leaving the rain behind now for 3 weeks xx

Safe travels, FriedGreenTomatoes!
As the younger generation say, “You’ve got this!” 🌺

Good morning from bright South Lanarkshire. There has been rain overnight but I have everything crossed for a drier day.

Good wishes winging their way to you FGT.

Pleased to hear that you are feeling a bit better Bella.

All good wishes for those with medical issues today.

We had an enjoyable evening with my cousin, he’s good company.

The weekend was a successful sporting one for two GC. The eldest’s netball team won their match giving them a place in the Cup Final next month and our own Karate Kid won her club championship in her category. Happy girls.

No plans today so will just see where the day takes us. A meandering day.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Our cleaner should be here this morning. I have a massive Waitrose shop to do - OH did no shopping at all last week!

Our gardener came last week and gave OH names of a couple of people who deal with trees. Our ceanothus has become far too big for the garden and is overshadowing everything. Our gardener doesn’t have the equipment for removing big trees.

I must ring our travel agent and give them details of our new Master card so the balance of our September holiday can we paid. Our bank recently changed this card and I’ve had to change quite a few Standing Orders. Most of them I’ve been able to do online.

Have a good day. I know we’re all thinking of FGT winging her way south.🌞

Good Morning from an overcast, but brightening Durham. Lovely day yesterday, as DGS2 completed the Chikdrens Cancer Run through Gosforth Park, sponsored by Greggs. He was so pleased he’d done it and can wear his medal to school today.

I’ve had a poor night’s sleep - worse than usual, but I’ll survive!

I took the DDs to Zakinthos several times in the 80’s and 90’s - both Tsilivi and Laganas - I believe it’s much more commercialized now, but the beaches were lovely for children.

Today, I’m meeting a friend for coffee, then going to DD2’s to collect the laundry I forgot yesterday. I’ve M&S vouchers to spend and fancy a new swimming costume, so maybe Newcastle or MetroCentre on the way home.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a sunny and dry NE, forecast is for rain later.
Had a lovely lunch out with DD and SIL at a hotel in the countryside, it was very peaceful.
Today DD is on her way back to Brussels, don't know when I will see her again, no plans to return in the next few months.

Today I have an appointment at GP surgery for BP check and blood test, my sister and BIL are going to take me.
Thinking of FGT.
Have a good day.

Good morning from a very sunny Suffolk where, like yesterday, rain is forecast later but probably, like yesterday, won’t happen here. We are close to the sea and coastal weather seems to have a mind of its own.

Meeting a dear friend for coffee later in the nearest small town. We arranged this yesterday evening as I finished my preparation for Wednesday’s meeting early so have a free day today.

Hope all have a good day and those with health concerns find some comfort.

GrannyIvy Mon 18-May-26 08:18:12

Good morning from the Algarve where it is a little chilly in the mornings and evenings but warm and sunny through the day but looks like temperatures are rising as the week goes on.

We have a hire car being delivered this morning so planning to drive out to one of our favourite places for a walk and then a supermarket shop on the way back. It is very quiet where we are staying with a few familiar faces from other years around the pool. We walked down to the Marina to eat last night and got chatting to a couple at the next table who live in the next village to us back home, what a small world it is.

Sending best wishes to all for a good day 🌷

Grammaretto Mon 18-May-26 08:20:51

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Not a good night so forcing myself to get going. On a U3A walk today along the coast where Outlander was filmed.

I had my young DGD yesterday while their mum was working. We did pottery. Their dad helped by dismantling bookcases with my friend. A couple of strong men can do so much in a short time. 💪

I hope you are recovered from that bash on the head Bella. Such a fright.

I'm glad you are less anxious FGT and hope you have a wonderful time in sunny Spain.

I'm booking the train to go to the sunny North of Scotland next week to stay with my friend.

Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Mon 18-May-26 08:21:12

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Managed to get the bedding dried yesterday before we had heavy downpours of rain and hail, DH who was fishing just over 10mile away didn't see any.
Hopefully will collect my new phone today.
FGT safe travels we are all with you in spirit.
Hope all medical appointments go well and safe travels for others on the move.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

NannyJan53 Mon 18-May-26 08:27:49

Good morning from another dull and cloudy and very chilly Black Country.

Need to ring Audiology first thing as one of my hearing aids isn't working, tried all the usual, blocked tube, battery etc. Never had this happen in 23 years of wearing them. Hoping they can fit me in today.

Youngest DGD is 15 today! I can remember the day she was born as if it were yesterday. I took a couple of days off work to be with her sister who was 2 1/2, as it was a planned C-Section. We were in a soft play centre when we had the call and SIL came to pick us up to see her.

Line Dancing today, unless I get an Audiology appointment.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

NannyJan53 Mon 18-May-26 08:28:47

Meant to say, safe travels FGT

brook2704 Mon 18-May-26 08:29:27

Hope all is ok with your eye corner and you get it checked promptly
How lovely for your DD and partner Gagagran, low key is a good plan and congratulations to them both ❤️

WhiteSwan63 Mon 18-May-26 08:37:48

Good morning from a bright east coast. I’m looking forward to some warmer temperatures later this week.

My uncle was discharged from hospital at 12-30 pm yesterday but his hospital transport was cancelled so he couldn’t get back to the care home. He’s still at hospital and will be taken home this morning. Hopefully he will have a day to settle back in and doesn’t end up back in tonight telling them he has chest pains. Mum and I were so stressed yesterday. I’ll be visiting him tomorrow and he will get a talking to from me.

Wishing everyone on holiday or travelling to holiday destinations a wonderful time. FGT
It will be a very emotional trip and I’ll be thinking of you.

glammagran it really was a great trip to China. It’s a wonderful place. We spent a lot of time visiting family of our DDIL and had her brother’s wedding to attend. Chinese weddings last all day starting with the bridegroom claiming his bride and she was in the hotel room next to us so that was a sight to see. He had to go through lots of challenges to get to her. We all then went to the bridegrooms family home where there was a tea ceremony for the two sets of parents and photos which we were surprisingly included in. We caused a stir in the village I can tell you as they don’t see any foreigners only our son.
There was then a huge banquet in the house for a hundred people who had helped with the wedding. We didn’t stay for that as I’m coeliac so wouldn’t have been able to eat much so went for a Thai meal in the town.

The afternoon there is a long rest period with us all back in the hotel. However the bridegroom ended up rolling round his bed with severe stomach cramps and in terrible pain. The family went into a panic but he was whisked off to a local clinic where he had an injection which eased the cramps. It cost just a few pounds. At six pm the most opulent ceremony I’ve ever seen began. DH and I were taken to the top table in front of 800 people. It was so amusing I felt like a celebrity. I got my pic taken so many times I’m pleased I had a pretty dress on. The bridegroom managed to say his vows and stand on the stage while his father made a speech and then he was rushed to hospital and put on a drip. Poor lad he missed it all.
There was another banquet and then takeaway boxes were brought out, everyone filled then up with the leftovers and went. Just an hour and a half later it was all over. I said to my DIL is that it is it over? She laughing said yes everyone goes home. We couldn’t believe it. There was no bar in the hotel so DS ordered us a nice bottle of wine in our room. The day was fascinating though but the main ceremony was short and sweet.
Pics are off the main ceremony room, the one food I can eat safely Durian the smelliest fruit but oh so delicious. And DDILs home town with the Karst mountains as the backdrop.

Wishing a lovely day for everyone 🌼

Morning, late from me, cloudy in S Hants.
Best of luck with your eye corner, a worry.
Really interesting pictures, thank you *WhiteSwan.
Have a lovely time those away on holiday - FGT 👍
Yesterday was quiet after Imogen went home, MrJ was out for a bowls competition, I caught up with gardening programmes.
Today is voluntary phones, our Monday night quiz is a distant memory with the new tenants of our local not having one.
Have a pleasant day all.

Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast.
It was so nice to be at home all day yesterday after a week of being out somewhere every day. We need time just to get our breath back, potter about, water the plants, sort the laundry etc.

In the evening I watched a long film which didn’t work with a handsome but wooden Gregory Peck (one actress said he was the vainest actor she had worked with..) while the cat snored beside me.

There is a folksong sing around this afternoon, but I’m still tired. This fatigue is a nuisance. My mind is full of ideas, but the body resists.
Bon voyage FGT and thoughts to all🌺

Roses Mon 18-May-26 10:26:24

FGT I hope you have a lovely holiday we are all thinking of you

Georgesgran Mon 18-May-26 13:09:21

Are you there yet FGT?? X

TheWeirdoAgain60 Mon 18-May-26 14:25:23

Good afternoon, Michael12 and all!

Last night I watched the 1989 film "Manhunt: Search for the Night Stalker" starring A. Martinez as Lt. Carillo, Richard Jordan as Sgt. Salearno and Greg Cruz, who was brilliant as Richard Ramirez.

The film wasn't for the faint-hearted as it went into detail about what the victims went through. I'm so happy Ramirez snuffed it in 2013. He was evil beyond belief!

I also watched ''The Hunt for Raoul Moat'', with Matt Stokoe as Moat.

Nothing particularly interesting happened yesterday or today!

It's 2:24 pm, back to work after my break!

Tootlepip!
